He's probably off the Bills' draft list now. Forget him. -

Vick's Scrambling / Price's downfall
MadBuffaloDisease replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What happened to him is that the Cowboys picked him up just after the last pre-season game (September 4th) and 1 week before the start of the regular season (September 11th). Then he was buried on the depth chart behind Keyshawn, Glenn, and Witten, without having had the benefit of a full training camp and pre-season with the team. You can't say anything about him based on last year. I also discount much of Andre Davis' lack of production with the Pats for the same reason. He was added just before their 2nd-to-last pre-season game and was cut and re-signed several times. -

In the Poor fishies department...

We KNOW what it means. That doesn't discount their information. Since they're a Fantasy Football site, they're trying to give accurate opinions/statements on players that their readers MIGHT be thinking about picking up. If Culpepper can't play this season, or can't play much, a FF player would be stupid to pick him high in their draft. -
Tagliabue's most important comment
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Billsguy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tags' parting shot sounded like a kid who just got beaten up (which he did, by Ralph, by way of Chuck Shumer) and says something after it's over to the effect of "I let you win." The specifics of the CBA is WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT, moron. Things were fine under the old system. And the Bills will no more be able to field a great QB, as well as RB (I LOL at that part!), for their ENTIRE existence in Buffalo, so again, the specifics of the CBA mean a lot. -

Culpepper was assured of missing AT LEAST all of training camp and pre-season this year, given he had surgery back in November. And without those to help him get his timing down, he was going to be useless when and IF he even DID return. But given his play prior to getting injured last year, that's more of a concern, in that losing Moss and (OC) Linehan could be what made Culpepper look bad, and now you add the injury on top of that. As for Harrington, Martin, Lemon, etc., they're not even as good as Frerrotte. -

The bad news if Golisano ever buys the Bills

Maybe those weeks are like Biblical days for him? You know, lasting for thousands, if not millions, of years? -
As I said before Kelly, the ONE detail that HAS BEEN worked-out, of sorts, is compensation given to the players. The majority of NFL owners caved to the NFLPA by accepting a close to 60% cut of total revenues. That is the crux of the whole problem with the new CBA. If they have stuck to 56.2%, there wouldn't be a hue and cry since th TV money would have more than covered that amount.

Why are Wilson and Brown the only owners saying anything? How would you as a fan like it if your lower-revenue owner voted yes and later came out and said it was a bad deal?

Example # 278 of Patriots marketing power

I thought it was all about making $150M in profit versus $130M, screwing-over 30-year season ticket holders, and making regular season game crowds look like SB crowds (i.e. "suits")? -
Good article about Golisano...
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To address the post to which you're replying, no Golisano isn't the ONLY hope of keeping the team in Buffalo, but IMHO he represents the best hope. And while there is a principal owner for each team, they are mostly ownership groups. I know that several of Kraft's family members own a part of the team, and Snyder's father owns part of the Redskins. -

I believe that you cannot own a controlling interest in another pro franchise in ANOTHER city, but in the same city it's okay. -

Bills. And apuz, I doubt he'd become cheap. He'd probably do some housecleaning and streamline operations, as well as raise ticket, parking, and concession prices a bit, but I doubt he'd under-fund the cap or coaches. -

The Bills were OH SO close to getting Willis, Kelsay, and Witten in that 2003 draft. Friggin' Cowboys! -

Price's contract numbers
MadBuffaloDisease replied to SACKMARINO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the same could be said for Price and his 2002 season. The point being that Price is NOT a 94 catch 1,200 yard WR and Bledsoe admittedly is not a 4,000 yard passer, at least not anymore. -

How about...whoever gives him the most money? If you're gonna whore it out, might as well do it right. Although Retatta Field has a certain ring to it. Funded of course by BF and all the money he's won betting on the Cards to go all the way. I keed. -
Let's just hope the Bills are serious

Kelly: VA IS calling Davis a "bad player," or at least not that good. His comments about his "average hands" and "poor blocking" reveal that. But how a TE who caught 51 passes for 871 yards (17.1 average) and 6 TD's in college from a bad QB, in a good conference, can be considered to have "average hands" or be "bad," is beyond me! And as for the blocking, the point was brought up a few days ago that the days of the complete and great TE are probably gone. So you basically have the choice these days of a great receiver, great blocker, or average at both TE. And again, it was ALL the questions about his height and speed that kept him lower in some scouts' minds. He answered those questions definitively. -
Price's contract numbers
MadBuffaloDisease replied to SACKMARINO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"There are lies, damn lies, and..." The only reason Price averaged "38.3 receptions and 503 yards since leaving Buffalo" is because Pastabelly added-in last year, where Price caught a whopping 6 passes for 96 yards, thanks in large part to missing ALL of training camp and pre-season with the Cowboys, and being buried behind such losers as Terry Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson, Jason Witten, and even Patrick Crayton. Without that aberration of a year, he averaged 54.5 receptions for 706.5 yards with the Falcons, with Vick as his QB. And in a similar vein, Price's average stats with the Bills were inflated by Bledsoe's presence in 2002 (thankfully for the Bills!). Just for the sake of argument, if we exclude that year as an aberration as well, his stats were 46 receptions for 683 yards over his first 3 years. Now since those WERE his first 3 years, I'll say those are a little lower than they should have been, and probably higher than what he averaged in Atlanta. So to say his "game [has] spiraled" is spurious at best. Now let me say that I'm not overly happy that the Bills gave Price a $1.8M signing bonus when no one else would even give him more than the minimum, but it won't kill the Bills. It just leaves me worried that Marv got hoodwinked by Price's agent. And I can only hope if that's true, Marv learned a valuable lesson, so to speak.
