What kind of "Renaissance" did Flutie lead in San Diego? Kind of hard to do it without a great defense and some good offensive talent around you. And the Bills' "Renaissance" was during the 49'ers game (game 3 of 1998), which was led by RJ. Hell if not for getting injured in the Rams game the week before and watching Flutie salt-away the win, THAT would have been the "Renaissance" game. What rubbed me the wrong way initially about Flutie was him refusing to even buy season tix (I think they cost about $200 back then) when the whole push to keep the Bills in Buffalo was going on, because as he said "he had no ties to the area." Chump. Meanwhile RJ bought a $1M luxury box.

No surprise on Kalinin. The word initially was he was out at least 2 weeks, and since he got injured 5/9, that means the EARLIEST he could return is for game 3 on the 24th. But that's extremely optimistic. As for Connolly, I HOPE it's a matter of them wanting to surprise the Hurricanes, like Mularkey tried, but unlike with Mularkey, with success.

I've heard several places that Saturday will be the first game. And again, doing it on the weekend allows them to showcase the game on NBC versus OLN and CBC. And I think they'd rather have the CF's start the same day, and with SJ-Edmonton knotted at 2 apiece and game 7 slated for Thursday, that would make sense given that series is AT LEAST going 6 games.

I'm assuming that the Sabres' struggles since Dom left have been because of a lack of the wide disparity in team salaries, i.e. a lack of talent. However now that the salary cap is in place and that's less of an issue, we can expect great things annually out of the Sabres because of Ruff? Am I right in assuming that?

If Timmy DOES have a concussion and gets his head clear, doesn't he have to sit-out for some time as a rule? As for Dmitri, what was the exact injury? I heard broken bone in foot but didn't hear which one.

I'd say Whitner, Simpson, Baker, and Bowen are safe. I think they keep 1 more safety.
