Connolly is out for games 1 and 2. He won't make the trip to Carolina. To me that doesn't sound good for his return in this series, if not beyond. Adam Mair has been cleared for contact and needs to be cleared to play in games. That's good news. Kalinin still out, as expected. I'd save him for the SCF's, if the Sabres get that far. Canes' Erik Cole has been cleared to skate, just a little over 2 months after suffering a fractured vertebra. He was amazing in the regular season, scoring 30 goals in 60 games, until the injury. To me if he plays, he's a dead man. Stupid to try and come back that quickly.

What's the point of this thread? Neither Baskett nor Nance has played yet, and Nance was considered a better prospect than Baskett. And the idea was for the Eagles to trade McMullen to the Vikes, who wanted him, for Baskett. So unless the Bills were high on McMullen, it wasn't going to happen.

On JP's goal, I think no one expected him to cut in front of the net, but rather to pass the puck there. I think Redden expected that, and figured that IF he nailed JP, he'd get a penalty, maybe a penalty shot. JMO. But I agree that I wouldn't want the guy, much less at the salary he'll command. BTW, what is the Sabres' cap number, and can they spend MORE than it? You'd think no, but since there are other teams with higher salary caps, there'd be some ability for the Sabres to spend over their own.

I won't hold my breath for any. There were several chances for the Sabres to get one, but the refs refused to do it. Sure "sticking it to the man" is great when it works, but sometimes you need to CLUB the man.

Staying silent hasn't helped them yet. But I doubt most fans would know who the refs were.

I'm more of a "seeing is believing" kind of guy. I'll wait for reproducibility, unlike that whole "cold fusion" fiasco in 1989.
