  1. Uh, 4yr/$10M is $2.5M a year, which is a better deal. But I like this one. And yeah, having the signing bonus being a roster bonus would be a great move, IF they can get their other stuff done without it hindering things.
  2. 2006 500000.00 2007 1500000.00 2008 2200000.00 2009 2950000.00 2010 3400000.00 That's a total of $10.5M for those 5 years, which works out to $2.1M a year in base salary. Figure his signing bonus was about $5M (since signing bonus is usually less than than 50% of the total of a players' base salaries), and that's about $3.1M a year he'll be making. Pretty good!
  3. Villy was an above-average OG in his prime, but it's true that age and injuries have taken their toll. From what I've been hearing, Duke is nipping at his heels at RG, which is good news.
  4. I ALWAYS like it when someone agrees with me.
  5. It's not like the Bills can magically go out and get a great LT. There's a reason these guys are either frachised to already signed to huge long-term deals. So having a guy like Gandy, who should only improve with better coaching and players around him finally, was a great find for the Bills. Now do I want them to improve at LT? Of course, and I think Peters is the guy. But one still has to give Gandy props for how he played last year.
  6. Well one thing we DO know about Reyes is that he's not a penalty machine like Anderson. Neither is Fowler for that matter, but Teague wasn't either. And Reyes has the athleticism that Anderson only dreams of having. And Fowler is a true center, Teague was not. That IMHO is worth something. And I got this from Allen Wilson from TSN: http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=106712 I agree, and luckily Preston got a lot of 1st team snaps at RG in OTA's while Villy was out. I see him taking over there sooner rather than later.
  7. The O-line is definitely better. Elite? Probably not.
  8. She's still better-looking than Babe Didrikson. Although that's not saying much.
  9. Or banging your head on a book.
  10. Yep. And Randy Moss. And Scott Linehan is still the OC. And Culpepper's knee will be 100% just 8 months after knee surgery. And oh yeah, there are no distractions in Miami.
  11. A smarter man would have stopped carrying his REAL wallet after the first, oh, 5 times or so.
  12. Will the last 6 games THIS year be against 4 teams with a combined 17-47 record and a team playing its backups for all but the 1st-2 series of the game?
  13. Gotta say that after reading all the above, I love this move. And hearing that the Sabres were willing to match the offer to Grier (but that he left for SJ because of "family considerations, which I heard was a brother-in-law who lives in SF [lame!]), it pretty much ends the "Darcy/Golisano is cheap" mantra. Peca anyone?
  14. LOL! Yeah, Chambers is good, but he's no Moss (who is?) and is largely inconsistent. And with Mularkey as OC, McMichael will essentially be removed from the passing game, while as CB97 facetiously referred to, (the soon to be 32 and hasn't played a full season since 2003) Fred Beasley will likely get a lot of the passes that WOULD have gone to him.
  15. More like a few favors were called in, to Lay's detriment.
  16. I agree. There IS no more personal accountability.
  17. What's the difference between that and medicine or smoking? You know the risks of surgery and smoking are injury or death.
  18. Gee, how convenient!
  19. Kind of hard to say that Nall is proven OR accurate, considering he's played during the regular season only once during his first 4 years in the NFL (2004), and has thrown only 33 passes (completing 23 of them for a 69.7% rate).
  20. In Brady's last 8 starts, he threw more INT's than TD's. The rest of the team won the games, not Brady, because the coaching staff didn't put it all on him. And what the Pats realized they had in Brady was a former-6th round nobody who would listen to them and how they wanted things done, not a well-established former top overall pick who wanted to do things his way.
  21. Nall looked like crap until the last set of OTA's and even then he was no better than the other 2 guys. But the starting job is between him and JP and may the best man win.
  22. He had an excuse. He couldn't read.
  23. Wait, didn't we have a SIMILAR panic LAST year?
