All it will do is get Culpepper's confidence higher, but if the knee won't go, it don't matter. And it will take more than 2 passes, 1 completion for 2 yards, and 4 handoffs.
Holcomb brings experience and could start in a pinch. And it costs more to cut him than to keep him. I doubt any player thinks he's the better option at this point so I don't see a mutiny happening. I think he stays.
Besides, who would you replace him with at this stage? Kingsbury?
Just watched the video and yep, the Panthers put both center Justin Hartwig and RG Evan Mathis on Williams, and he STILL made the tackle on 3rd and 2 on DeShaun Foster. The previous play he came-in unblocked and along with Bowen stuffed Foster. Props to KW!
Reportedly JP stayed after practice today to work on his footwork and getting set before he throws. Several of the errant passes were because he wasn't using proper footing.
Yep, he's a bust already!
And if Williams was getting double-teamed by the Panthers' starting O-line, that's impressive and shows much respect.
Then again, the Panthers DID lose Tutan Reyes.
There are several WR's who are 225# or more. Guys like Owens, Andre Johnson, and David Boston. But Moulds was never that heavy. And he's 6' tall, not 6'2". I don't know why that 6'2" keeps popping up but I've seen it in more than a few places.
Pennington was overmatched. But he's a 7th round rookie so what can you expect? Same with Merz, who I believe is either hurt or hasn't practiced enough to play in a game.
Exactly. With the salary cap being tied to total revenues but only a portion of total revenues being shared, not to mention lower-revenue clubs needing to receive a handout from the richer clubs, I have a hard time believing that someone will plunk down the $700+M to buy the club and make a mid-$10'sM profit a year. Unless they pay close to the minimum in player salaries and/or jack-up ticket and gameday prices.
I didn't think the Bills would move...until the new CBA was signed. Suffice it to say that it does NOT help the Bills' long-term chances to remain in Buffalo after Ralph dies.
That was a tough first test for the Bills' patched-up OL, going against a GREAT DL that has been together for many years. Also with Holcomb in there, there was little in the way of the threat of a long pass or scramble.
