  1. Sleep apnea and depression are considerations. My brother had a lot of testing and tried a lot of meds, and finally was put on a fairly new drug called ProVigil. It's expensive (costs $7 a pill!) but he got insurance to pay for it and my sister-in-law says it's like she's married to a new man.
  2. No, but it definitely tarnishes it. Wonder why HD is so quiet on this one?
  3. John Tait gave up 9.5 sacks and 6 penalties. They probably WOULD want Gandy back.
  4. So you feel as good about the Pats' SB chances THIS year as you did in say, 2002-2004, much less LAST year? Talk about inaccurate predictions. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pats fail to win the division this year, and if they do, I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose in the 1st round. But hey, that's why they play the games.
  5. What do you KNOW of the abilities of say, Mario Williams, Broderick Bunckley, Haloti Ngata, and Manny Lawson, based on their pre-season games and their coaches' comments?
  6. I heard that Pioli was scouting daddy-in-law's team for potential LB'ers earlier in the week. So if in fact the Pats signed Seau to be a lockerroom leader/coach/player, it's very telling on the state of their defense. Gone are the days of their tremendous depth.
  7. No, no. Thank YOU!
  8. That's not saying much. And Seau is finished.
  9. "Don't waiste your time always searching for those waisted years."
  10. The players love going up to AVP, poking his belly, and hearing that soothing "hehehe."
  11. ...who was considered too skinny to play in the NFL. Hmmm.
  12. Yeah. I read yesterday that he was 14-27 or something like that and then read he had about 7 or 8 drops and I thought "phew!" Then it struck me that THAT many drops by the receivers is BAD.
  13. Training camp is one thing. A pre-season game against starting opposing players is quite another.
  14. We'll see if either Bunckley or Justice turns into anything. Based on the Eagles' 1st 2 pre-season games (Bunckley didn't play in the 1st one), neither is ready to start yet so neither could have been considered a better pick than what the Bills did.
  15. I still say that A-Train has/had more promise than Suggs, even before Suggs' failed physical. A-Train's 2nd best season is better than Suggs' career stats, and with the Bears, he averaged a little less than 81 yards a start. Why the Jets didn't do ANYTHING, even though Curtis Martin was urging them to draft a RB, is anyone's guess! This was an unexpected blow to a season that already wasn't going to be a good one.
  16. Okay, to be fair, I don't know who Ngata and Bunckley went up against (i.e. 1st stringers or 2nd stringers) and whether they got double-teamed or not. What I do know is that KW went up against a good starting O-line, got double-teamed, and still got 3 tackles. I know for sure that Ngata and/or Bunckley did not, since neither of them registered a stat in each of their pre-season games no matter who they faced. And moreoever, Bunckley isn't the space-eater-type so he SHOULD be getting some tackles. Ngata might have been double-teamed I don't know, and I'd like to know.
  17. Uh, no. The fact that Suggs hasn't played an injury-free season YET in his 3 years in the NFL, and just failed a physical, tell me that his upside is mostly downside. Gates OTOH being just a 2nd year player has FAR more upside. A-Train I'd say has as much value as Suggs and he's only 2 years older.
  18. The Falcons have a good pass-rushing D-line, but they're HORRIBLE at rush defense. They were tied for last in YPC last year and didn't do a single THING to improve it this off-season (except sign Milloy ). I appreciated what Milloy did for the Bills early-on, but his best days are behind him.
  19. And physics club. "That's sorta social. Demented and sad, but social."
  20. LOL! Good catch. And I mentioned this in another thread, but McCargo had 2 tackles in the Carolina game versus ZERO tackles COMBINED for Ngata and Bunckley in their pre-season games.
  21. And the Vikes just lost their 1st round pick, LB Chad Greenway, for the season.
  22. Last year was last year. Different defensive scheme and a year less experienced. As for Williams' play being proof that McCargo was a bad choice, wrong! McCargo had 2 tackles the other night, which is 2 more than Bunckley and Ngata COMBINED in 2 pre-season games (the Eagles have played 2 pre-season games, but Bunckley was inactive for the 1st pre-season game). Maybe THEY were the bad choices?
  23. Yeah, and Winston Justice looked GREAT in those first 2 pre-season games.
  24. From where did THIS thread come?
