  1. I had no emotional investment in the game. So it made it much easier for me to enjoy the whole series. A great series. I was never sure who was going to pull it out in the end.
  2. Well I'm glad that we had a first-hand look at him. I was wondering since it was so sudden. But if he isn't good enough, he isn't good enough.
  3. Mmmmmmmmmm! Strawberry-Rhubarb pie. Soooo good. Alas my gf is from Michigan, and he family makes a Rhubarb custard pie. Good.... but not as good as Strawberry/Rhubarb! 'course I'm out in Cali and the rhubarb that makes it here is pretty crummy.
  4. I have to admit some of the suggested answers have just been awesome!
  5. The quote was from back when Wyche was coach of the bengals. It was a cold and snowy day in Cincinnati and the fans started pelting the field with snowballs (don't remember why), coach had a microphone brought to him and he chastised the crowd by including that statement. (There's a local rivalry between Cleveland and Cincinnati, where neither thinks much of the other place) It worked well, the fans stopped throwing.
  6. turkey bologna? I agree with some other voices in that you should try the original stuff first. MUCH different flavor than the turkey. Frying it really changes the flavor IMO. I also second that you make some cuts around the edge to help it stay (more) flat and thus fry better. after you try the original, then experiment to your hearts content.
  7. Unfortunately, in many way's he'd have to do better than good ole' big ben... Pittsburgh's lead runningback Duce Staley got injured when they were busy running him into the ground. Good thing for them that they had The Bus who could step up and let himself get run into the ground. We lose McGahee, we have nobody strong enough behind him to run and run and run behind. Even if we keep Travis... So the unfortunate part is, we'll HAVE to air it out more than big ben and co. Which will allow for more mistakes by our young QB...
  8. Hawaii is fabulous. All of the islands are different, and all are good. After sampling each, you can figure out which one is perfect for your speed. My favorite is Kauai, but I enjoy them all. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
  9. NCO = Non Commissioned Officer. You have to goto officer training school to get beyond a certain rank. all officers below that rank are NCOs. The most commonly known is Sergant. Who are pretty much known as tough, no-nonsense types.
  10. Not going thurs night, but taking all my employees to watch the movie at 10:30am friday morning. Woot! That's one good part about being in a high-tech company... pretty much everyone is a geek and excited by it.
  11. Samuel Adams - Scotch Ale (sadly not a regular brew anymore)
  12. First thing that came into my mind when I read the topic. Bud. Crappy, crappy beer. Glad to see others haven't fallen prey to endless add campaigns. Coors light is plenty undrinkable too. I've had some smaller run beers that were pretty hard to hold down, but I've tried to purge my memory of them.
  13. I wouldn't eat rufus. There really isn't much left after the skeet practice. ...PULL! Cats rule.
  14. K Winslow the 2nd. This loudmouth braggart has rubbed me wrong with everything he's done. I can't stand this arrogant twerp. I find it even more strange since I remember rooting for his father. ....oh, wait. We're talking about players who actually PLAY football. Nevermind!
  15. I have to agree that it's one of the best games of all time. Can be ruthless, and can put a strain on some friendships. But a wonderful, wonderful game. Best played face to face but hard to find 7 people with a bunch of spare hours.
  16. If I drink enough so that golf is interesting, I won't be able to stand. But I just may be free that weekend. Not being able to stand sounds good.
  17. Just say no to workout warriors. Anyone remember Erik Flowers? He shot up the board right before the draft... he was a winner (or rather weiner). We don't need to believe the last minute hype. Let some other sucker pay for it.
  18. I concur, CB is not a spot that you can just plug a body in to occupy space. Yes TV gives us some depth, but at the expense of our safety position. An earlier post here at tsw showed how few starting CBs aren't 1st or 2nd round draft picks. We've got a 4th (McGee) who even though I think was a steal, is still a little raw & unproven, being backed up by 6th rounder in Thomas and an undrafted free-agent in Greer. Our safety depth also has UFA(Baker) in the primary backup spot. Do not misunderstand me, I think that all of those lower draft choices have well overplayed their draft position. I think they make decent depth, but decent starters...? With a reasonable likelyhood of losing Nate, and our replacement starters in the secondary being suspect. I honestly will be suprised if we don't draft a cb in round 2.
  19. Anyone want to go over in a barrel after looking at those pictures?
  20. He'll have competition. If they earn the spot over Joe, they'll get to keep it. Clearly, Joe has shown that he busts his butt and does what the coaches ask him to do and probably a little more (especially special teams). Re-signing Joe is not earth shattering news, but I'm not complaining about having hard-workers who give everything they have on my team. He's got that spot until somebody earns it by beating him out. I'm cool with that. Why is he getting all this crap?
  21. I'm glad you don't rely on the Wall for validation. But I'm a big fan of what you post, and I read all of them that I can. So, for what it's worth, I appreciate your postings!
  22. Undergrad: Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo (CA) Grad: U of Illinois (Go Illini!)
