  1. Nope. I'd say it's the entitlement of the players and their union to take as much as they can get even at the expense of a company. See US car companies over the last 30 years.
  2. Great interview! Thanks very much for posting. I could totally listen to Nix all day. I hope that we can look back on the Nix era with him being the best GM we've ever had.
  3. I swear, every time I see that picture it looks like the front of his jersey says "EATS"! I think yup, no joke.
  4. The bad news is that the Redskins want to trade DOWN to pick up one of the second tier QB's at the bottom of round 1 or the top of round 2 NOT up. Alas.
  5. Eric Woods (our second 1st rounder from the 2009 draft) Still not a good percentage of hits on our first rounders. Jeesh.
  6. Sometimes percentages can be misleading when you have a small set of data. We've only got one year for Cam Newton vs the other QB's on that list who've got 2-4 years of data. Most of them have good percentages for at least one year. (Except Locker who sucks) For example, in his Junior year, Ponder threw 330 times for 68.8%, 7% higher than his overall percentage from all 4 years. He's not a throwing QB and I'm not comfortable drafting a running QB.
  7. I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the quality of the two clips with Mooch. He does a great job of communicating (both to the QB's and to us the audience). I really enjoyed them.
  8. Disagree. He'd be our best TACKLE.
  9. Because we're looking for a needle in a haystack with late round picks. Sometimes you find one.
  10. I guess I'm more in the minority here. I think the sentence was too harsh. 6 years probation is longer than I feel he should have received. The girl was underage I agree, but how's he going to card her? I've seen plenty of 16 year olds look much older than they are. She was a professional hooker who showed up at his hotel room to perform services. The pimp on the other hand SHOULD receive jail time. HE was the abuser in this case. LTs crime is that of soliciting a prostitute which is a minor offense. That and being very unlucky to both be caught and have the girl be under 18. This ain't the sicko kiddie porn. She's a biological adult. (but still too young to be involved with this and was still being abused)
  11. Probably let a "Whoop" out too.
  12. Far and away I'd be most upset with Cam Newton. I do not believe that he will be a great NFL QB. I don't even think he'll be a good one. I'd rather have a GREAT player at another position. Even LB albeit less so for a CB.
  13. Not me. I want to win 19 games this season.
  14. Reportedly Gallery was asking for EIGHT million from the raiders! Raiders offered $2.5m. He ain't worth $8m. He'd be an upgrade over Urbik (IMO), but not a 7M one.
  15. True that there's a lot of bodies there, but we threw a lot of bodies at RT last year. But I think we've got a little bit better quality here. So I agree and we keep our fingers crossed. I wouldn't cry about a dominating interior OL (and Gallery is a good guard), but with Spiller's propensity to bounce outside, we REALLY need a good mauling RT and a good TE and that'll help CJ get some room to run.
  16. There's only 6 free agents that can be signed on the market and we're already getting complaints that we haven't signed them all plus their 80 year old grandma because she can play better than anyone we have. jeesh.
  17. He WAS unblocked in the National Championship game. Oregon runs an interesting scheme where they leave the weakside DL unblocked and run various plays right at him. Forces the defender to make a decision early and often confuses the player making him more hesitant. They've used it very effectively. Fairley had the lateral quickness and IQ to defeat the scheme. (reportedly he did lots of film study to learn how to defeat it) But he WAS left UNBLOCKED!
  18. I'd bet a significant amount of money against 3 QB's going in the top ten. I don't believe that 3 will go in the first round.
  19. Not much. His differences with long term deal vs injury would be the amount of guaranteed money (including signing bonus). He's making out just fine.
  20. I also am hoping for DLine or maybe LB with the first pick. I really don't care which, I just want him to be a perennial all-pro or even better a hall-of-famer. I have NO idea what they're going to do with the second pick. I think that we desperately need a strong, thumping ILB but they're typically not drafted at the top of the second round. With some great luck we'll pull a PATS* move and trade the top of the second round pick for a lower 2nd rounder and a first next year. That'd make me happy.
  21. Agree 100% He just wasn't that guy. I've got no animosity towards him. He just wasn't that guy. As for the draft? Who knows. I suspect that if they like a guy at round 3 or 4 they'll take him. (I also hope not in round 1 or 2) If they don't find someone available at the price they're willing to pay then I figure we'll get a veteran backup with some upside (ala Fitzpatrick).
  22. Probably Brohm's play in the last game. He stunk it up and basically said that he couldn't handle the speed of the NFL. Chan agreed with him. It was just a matter of time before he was gone.
  23. Truth is, just because he's got an extension doesn't mean he'll make the team. He's good enough that he's being given the opportunity to for us and not any other team. If we hit the bonanza with a good draft pick and a good FA acquisition then he likely won't stick. But if we just can't make it work, then he's better than many of the options we had last year.
  24. Yup, he should be wearing a mask and carrying burglar tools.
  25. What?? Of course the real world works that way. The Owners of a private company can do whatever the heck they want with the company, including running it into the ground. Stay with the legal boundaries of discrimination or fraud and they can do anything else. Killing the golden goose is well within their rights. I might add that stupidity at the top of a corporation happens all the time. As an owner of a private company I can do whatever I want to it. Including closing it down even if it's providing a valuable service to others.
