  1. Well, our ex-O-Line coach Jim McNally was supposed to be a genius in turning out talent like he did for the Giants. The secret seems to be practice, practice, practice, IN PADS! The Giants lock horns and run the ball all training camp. That's why they get it done and the Bills suck at running the football.
  2. I think this really cements not taking the TE (Pettigrew) with the first pick. It all starts in the trenches. If the guy we want isn't there at #11, trade down and pick up a DT or DE, a guard, and a center within the first two rounds.
  3. I'm already disappointed. The free-agent lists are kind of ho-hum, but there's a couple of gems out there. I'd rather overpay for a younger player on the rise than the big names in search of another payday.
  4. My exact thinking when I saw his release. He fits the bill........no pun intended.
  5. Yep. I'm not defending Losman, or maybe I am, but he's a former first round pick with lots of starting experience. Look how many teams Joey Harrington has been on; four! And Losmans competion percentage and td-to-int ratio are better. Losman leads in fumbles and fumbles lost though!
  6. Probably a good possession receiver for the NFL. A lot of big game experience too.
  7. I think you are wrong. He's not coming back here so we can end that chapter, but I'll be surprised if he isn't on several teams radar this weekend. The Cowboys have already been speculated as a landing spot.
  8. Mayocks track record, if you will, has become better than Mel Kipers/Todd McShay at ESPN. Having said that I think there's no way the Bills draft him that early. His numbers at the combine were middle of the pack at best, and the off-field incident of assaulting a police officer in light of Marshawn's problems are enough red flags for me. I like him well enough as a player but not at #11.
  9. I would like a bona-fide pass-catching TE, but the possible loss of depth and/or starters at OL scares me. I think LB and Center are the two keys to our draft or free agency.
  10. Paraphrasing: 1) Doesn't want to comment on Lynch. He has shared "text messages" with him but they haven't talked. 2) Somehow they got to talking about training camp and Dick said "doesn't like to get all banged up in camp because that will hurt you later in the year". It's "all about teaching". Man, I hate that. 3) Asked about the TE position. Gave the typical Jauron response "we really like what we have". But of course "always looking to upgrade via the draft or free agency". 4) Looking for a back-up QB, ideally with some experience. They like Hamdan but he hasn't played a lot of football. 5) Hardy is coming along on his injury. Probably not available for OTA's but more like early/mid training camp. He is living in Buffalo and is in every morning for therapy. Working very hard. 6) Mentioned Schobel and the importance of having him back healthy. 7) Brief mention of Jabari Greer and how much they like him and that they have been "in contact" about possibly staying with Buffalo.
  11. As a center I don't think its a big deal if he doesn't work out. As long as they get the medical info on him. I would question his attitude though. Antoine Caldwell of Alabama is working out at the combine. I heard him on Sirius.
  12. This is legit. This is for Extreme Makeover Home edition to come in and rebuild the Wielinski home in Clarence Center hit by airplane on Thursday 2/12. http://www.petitiononline.com/Hope4You/petition.html This is a link to a petition to get Extreme Home Makeover to do a home for the Wielinski family. PLEASE sign your name.... it just takes a moment of your time!!!! PLEASE forward this to everyone in your address book!!!
  13. Makes me wonder if the police made a typo; 4/2 vs. 4/22 birthdates.
  14. I could see that. Looking at the Bengals they might need him back. Palmer is coming off a big injury and Palmer's brother is the only other backup listed.
  15. FYI, Gradkowski claimed by the Raiders.
  16. Thank you for that. I wouldn't cut Kelsay this year or Dockery at all. If you can sign a vet TE who is better on paper I agree on cutting Royal, but not before.
  17. Here is what I remember: He is working out in NJ for the combine and been working out with former NFL assistant Jerry Rhome. Been working on identifying pass protections, etc. They asked him if there's any QB he can compare himself to. Willy said people have told him he's a little like Marc Bulger. Willy is a big fan of Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Willy has asked how much time he spent in the shotgun formation; he said about 30%. They were running a hybrid West Coast at Buffalo which was agreed that it was a bit like the Packers run. He sounded a bit sketchy/nervous on explaining some of this stuff.
  18. I told someone who I work with only somewhat jokingly that the Bills will come out with some kind of statement like "we really like who we have at quarterback" (meaning Edwards/Hamdan). I can never tell with the Bills but I don't think that they think QB is an urgent need. Boller, Frye, or Simms would be my realistic choices in free-agency, or spend a late pick (round five or six maybe) on someone they could develop for a couple of years.
  19. Oh, no. Another "high motor" guy.
  20. There's a lot of backs who don't run well with a fullback. I think it's an overrated position.
  21. Yeah, he's an option but he also has had an injury riddled career. The most games he's ever played in a season was 13 and he did that as a rookie in 2004.
