  1. Sounds like ex-Jags receiver and former college QB Matt Jones.
  2. I think someone takes him in the 2nd. It will be a team that really has few needs, the Pats would be a good bet.
  3. I think I heard that too. I'm hoping Hangartner is a bit of a smoke-screen. Pencil him in at center and hope that there is a center the Bills like with their #2 pick. There's going to be a run between the end of the 1st and early 3rd round. Steelers, Browns, Broncos, and Bengals all are rumored to be eyeing a center.
  4. I've never seen Hangartner play, but I want a "plan B" for a center. And since he's the only center on the roster, this is the year to draft one.
  5. I don't think he makes it out of the 1st round. I don't care who we have signed, if a team needs a center this is the year to do it. There's five or six guys with pretty good potential.
  6. If this rumored trade of Peters to Philly ever took place the Bills could slide Walker to LT and sign Shaffer as RT. Chambers could play guard. I'd like that.
  7. That's not how it's going to work though. No one is going to give you #4 overall pick value for Peters. If the trade is with the Eagles for Peters I'd say their #21 and maybe #85 is what the Bills would end up getting. Plus there's no way the Bills could or would pay that many first day picks. Even if Peters isn't traded I'd say a trade with the Eagles is still possible if the Eagles want to move to #11 to get an Offensive Tackle. I'd rather keep Peters and make the deal with the Eagles to trade the Bills #11 (1,250 points) for the Eagles #1-21 (800 points), #2-53 (370), and #4-117 (60 points).
  8. That would be the best scenario possible, to pick up a DE/DT, OG or C, and TE in rounds 1-2. The QB's in this draft are the wild-cards. If both are selected Top 10 (seems unlikely) that will probably push a good player to the Bills. I also think there's going to be a second run on O-tackles between #15 and #20-ish. Those teams might be a good candidate to trade down with so they can get the OT they want. If both QB's somehow slip to the Bills slot I think that might actually be a problem. It makes me wonder if anyone would then trade up. The Jets at #17 you could argue is the first team behind the Bills that is most likely to draft a QB.
  9. Vic Carucci just said that one of the only reasons it makes sense is that Jauron is a "lame duck" coach even though he just signed a new deal.
  10. He did visit last Friday and a co-worker saw him having lunch with some Bills players in O.P. on Saturday. I thought maybe he stayed to have a physical and work out a contract. Guess not?
  11. Tim, It drives me crazy. How come the Bills are probably the only team that conceals salaries on the players they sign? Besides Drayton Florence I haven't heard a word on what we are paying our new QB and Center. It would be nice to know. Thanks, Dan
  12. I think this has been addressed but................ Yes, Hardy was supposed to be the guy. He did NOT have a good season---very unimpressive. Which I must say I almost expect from a rookie unless you get real lucky. Now he's rehabbing an injury and I think its been said that he won't be ready for OTA's. Reed is a #3 which is fine, Johnson is a wild-card. The problem I have is that if Evans gets hurt, the Bills are SCREWED as it now stands. That's my #1 reason why we need a guy like Coles.
  13. I will look favorably on free-agency if this team does not suck again this year.
  14. I'll check Brad's show out more often now that he's changed times. The topic on WGR all-day, everyday is "what's wrong with the Sabres?" I get it, but there are other news stories.
  15. A veteran presence as a #2 would help our receiver core, our young QB's, and provide insurance that Hardy is going to be healthy to start the year. I don't hate who we have on the roster but Hardy, Johnson, and Jenkins are all "what if's" as far as I'm concerned.
  16. I think by about Noon today I would have called his agent and said that the deal is off unless he wanted to sign it RIGHT NOW. He's visiting Cincinnati on Tuesday. I think the Coles ship has sailed.
  17. It's been an interesting couple of days as far as QB's go. Really the only action is Fitzpatrick, Orlovsky, and Kitna being traded. The 49'ers are romancing Kurt Warner. Where's Leftwich? Where's Kyle Boller, Simms or Grossman?
  18. He has left the Jets without a contract and is visiting other teams. Bring him back?
  19. He was still here Saturday afternoon. A co-worker saw him having lunch with a couple of Bills in O.P..
  20. I for once agree. There really isn't anyone out there to go ga-ga for. You can immediately count out guys like Haynesworth and Houshmenzadeh before FA even starts. And big-name guys like Ray Lewis and Derrick Brooks aren't going to come here either. Here's to waiting...........I guess.
  21. No No No. We saved a $1.75 million bonus (or so) that he was due shortly. And we will have $5.5 million (or so) in dead money this year for releasing him. That would have been his salary this year.
  22. I don't know how I feel. One position down I guess. Not too shabby.
  23. This is the only one that is realistic. I would also like to see them sign an older WR to a one-year deal as a stop-gap/helper as insurance on Hardy. I think it would do the team and our QB's good to have another veteran. Toomer, Galloway, Bobby Engram would be low risk, high reward.
  24. True. Randy Cross also had a line about free-agency: "he'd rather buy some newer, slightly used toys instead of some old broken ones".
