  1. Nice throw for the go-ahead touchdown. Will be interesting to see how he fares in the senior bowl/combine.
  2. Jerry Sullivan said the other day on WGR that he found out it was DJ who made the Maybin pick. Or at least strongly pushed for it so they pulled the trigger. Hindsight being 20/20, with starting DE's under contract (Schobel/Kelsay), that pick HAD to be an OLB. Ellison had to be replaced. Hopefully during OTA's someone gives Maybin at least a look at OLB. He's 20-30 pounds too small to be an effective DE.
  3. I'm willing to keep Fitz as a #2 or a #1 while we groom someone, and maybe that's Brohm. He's not nearly ready to start.
  4. Billick was a great offensive mind until he became a head coach. He wouldn't be the worst hire but I'd like to see the Bills conduct a half-dozen interviews. Not many HC openings.....yet......hopefully they can be a bit choosy.
  5. I missed the Stamer signing during the holidays. I saw #50 out there today and I was like "WTF?!!!" when I saw the name on the jersey.
  6. Criticism is deserved considering the past 10+ years of Bills history. The honeymoon for this hire (which IMO I approve of, he's qualified) will be a short one. If Nix avoids the type decisions that were made last year, like the debacle at Left Tackle, he might just succeed.
  7. Wonder how long Tyler Thigpen is under contract with the Fins?
  8. I saw Modrak in town last week.
  9. There were a lot of bad decisions made and that's why the Bills need a real GM. The ruling has to come from the top down. Hopefully a real GM would have prevented the starting LT (Walker) being cut days before the start of the season without a bonafide replacement. Who know who REALLY made that decision? Maybin was a luxury pick IMHO, whether he pans out or not. They would have a solid starter instead of a situational player if they would have drafted elsewhere. Oher at RT would have been a better need-pick after losing Peters, even if it meant shuffling positions with existing starters. An OLB would have been the other crying need. The fact that Keith Ellison was still a starter at OLB to begin the season was another crime. That position had to be addressed in the off-season and they did nothing to upgrade. What if they drafted Cushing or Matthews? I'm glad they got Wood and Levitre, but that first pick has to be a contributor if the team has that MANY needs.
  10. Our next coach if its not Fewell will realistically come from this list. Find a GM and then get one of these guys. I'm still partial to Russ Grimm. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/12/0...ead-coaching-jo
  11. He should be returning kicks to keep Fred fresh.
  12. Get a good LT and hope that Wood and Butler come back healthy, and it could make many QB's look at least competent behind the Bills line.
  13. I haven't been a fan of Poz lately, but I thought he stood out on many plays vs. the Jets. The Bills are way too small right now up front, especially at LB. Stats DON'T lie in this case---look at the tackles made in the Jets game. Three out of the five top Bills tacklers were DB's!!!! The top five Jets are all DE/LB's.
  14. Grimm was one of the guys on my short list before they fired Jauron. As I keep posting though, unless they get a real GM in here nothing will change.
  15. IMO, this is the type of coach we'll end up with. Throwing money at the problem most likely end up in the Bills favor. Fassel WANTS the job, he WANTS back in. There's only 32 jobs and at any one time probably 1/4 of them available. I don't see a problem with a guy like Fassel; he's involved, dynamic, and his voice will be heard. My problem is if you hire him and leave the front office intact the difference wont be apparent. That's where the issue is.
  16. My problem with Martz is that he's a bit of a "diva". He's well traveled as an OC and had the one shot as an HC, and there's a reason for that. He doesn't get along with people.
  17. Marty has said publicly that he's retired and won't be coaching for anyone.
  18. We're gonna need fresh meat for the OL.
  19. I'll take any coach (almost) as long as he will run training camp like a pro team and not Club Med. And the Bills need to get a real GM first, and a new strength coach.
  20. Hamdan isn't an NFL QB and maybe you can trade Edwards for something.
  21. Ballsy move considering the Bills coaching/GM slot is up in the air. Lets hope it works out.
  22. Please let a new GM come first. Name the coach, any coach, and they won't be successful here if the current lack-of-GM and personnel department continue to sign the players they have.
  23. If Cowher coaches it will be Carolina---he lives there, good stable ownership, no funny business.
  24. Anyone put in a missing persons report for Maybin? I can't understand why they don't play him at OLB given the injuries and to get him on the field. He's more qualified than Scott. A friend of mine thought that Maybin had been out with an injury and that's why he wasn't playing. I had to remind him about the competency of the Bills coaching staff.
  25. Money does not fix all problems, just ask Redskins fans. I also think the notion that the Bills are going to have to pay megabucks for a decent coach are false. They like will have to pay more that they do to Jauron---even if it's double is still fairly low/average for a head coach. There was an article recently that said even with the marquee coaching talent available right now, that most owners aren't going to shell out big $$$ for a coach. Make the job as attractive as possible. Don't be Dan Snyder. There's only 32 teams, someone is going to get shut out who you don't expect.
