Oh, those wacky Michiganders!
TheMadCap replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everclear is not illegal in NC, we used to buy it at the lab for use as pure ethanol. It was cheaper than buying it from Fisher.... And Steve, you are not supposed to sip it, it's for making PJ and jello shooters my man! -
Tyson did indeed flash a bit before he would throw one of those uppercut bombs that would floor you if he nailed you with one. But this only lasted until about 1:30 of round 1. If you could survive them, you had a good chance to beat him. It took me longer actually to beat Macho Man because I was so used to playing the actual arcade game where you had to duck to escape that twirling roundhouse punch. In MTPO all you have to do is dodge. I'm serious, it took me forever to figure that out, and only by accident. I never played this manic mansion before, when did this game come out? I like the sweep running play in Techmo Super Bowl where if you take Bennett, you could run down and tie up the running back before the pitch and cause a fumble. I think my best score ever was an 80-0 defeat of Miami in the first game of the season. I put Marino out first play on a sack! Does anyone remember that lame-o Atari porn game where you as general Custer have to make your way through an arrow storm so you could rape this indian girl tied to a cactus? Had to be one of the reasons Atari died out, too many crappy games.

(OT) Ebay seller. Taking too long to ship.
TheMadCap replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was the seller someone who deals in high volume? I waited for over 200 bucks of audio tapes for nearly three weeks before they showed up. Give it a bit more time before you do something rash... -
I think they are REALLY dropping the ball on this show. You have to strike when the irons are hot, not wait 9 months to give people what they want.

The big reason the Pats are almost unbeatable

Does anyone have some actual stats from this season to illustrate this??? -
Christ almighty! Are there NO original ideas in Hollywood anymore???? All we get is sh------- remakes and sequels.... :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

No comparison at all.....the SW trilogy changed WAY to much in terms of moviemaking, sound, special effects, and epic adventures. LOTR the novels predate them, and the movies themselves are fabulous. I suspect that you would get different answers if you polled ages 10-20 who didn't grow up with SW like we did...

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
TheMadCap replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest thing I noticed about watching the two newer films in the theater was how hard it was to focus on what was going on. There was so much detail in the CGI shots, everything was making noise, and everything was so bright. I spent more time looking at the eye candy and it made it difficult to focus on what was happening. I think the biggest difference is Lucas himself. As AJ correctly stated, he is doing things HIS way, and to hell with us if we don't like it. While he has a great vision, his dialog leaves much to be desired. -

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Not until Lucas dies, he has said many times that this will NEVER happen... Also, in the future, put SPOILER alert in the header if you please.... -
Another story my buddy told me about Keith had to do with his playing ability. He had read a book where some roadie claimed that on one particular tour in the 70's that Keith would get soooo wasted, he would pysically not be able to play the guitar, forget the songs and stuff. So this roadie open tuned a guitar in the key of each song so Keith would just have to blast open strings to be in key. Funny if it is indeed true...

you forgot the best part.... Jerry: " I wish I had the last twenty seconds of my life back"

A guy I was in a band with once was a huge Stones fan. He would read all sorts of books about them, and in one it said that Keith would stay up partying for days on end killing himself with drugs and alcohol. When he would finally drop, he was out for two days or so. Think about it, how wasted would you have to be to pass out in America and wake up in England?

Would Eagles Win Rival Jets SB III Win As
TheMadCap replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the one. The proverbial "Key Play" of that entire game. I've only watched a tape of that game once, and that's when It became apparent that this is the one true haunting image I have of that game. -
On that point, the rumor is that Richards is going to play the father of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. Assuming of course that Keith doesn't expire before that happens, although I would not bet on that happening!
-
Funny thing is, Keith was a geezer in his 20's. He looks kind of like the Crypt keeper...
-
Thanks! All I remember about the guy is that he is always holding out.

(OT) Anyone ever converted your fireplace...
TheMadCap replied to TheMadCap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My folks have one, and before this Christmas, I thought they were for show only. But that think kicks out a hell of a lot of heat at the flip of a switch. -
I realize this is not practical in WNY where most of you here live, but our new house needs to have the lining replaced. We could shell out the 2800 bucks to use the messy, woodburning fireplace, or convert it to gas. This would keep us from having to replace the lining. Anyone have any experience or info on this?? Thanks!

I work for Philip Morris USA, and they invest lot of money coming up with "reduced exposure" products for those who choose to smoke. Some of you have seen that TRUTH commercial where they go to the HQ of "a major tobacco company" in NYC (obviously PMUSA) and yell up to them questioning why they don't offer the reduced harm cigarette to the whole country instead of just NYS. The reason is simple. People don't buy the safer cigarettes. I have tried it myself and it tastes like I would imagine hay to taste like if one smoked that. Currently this problem has to do with the delivery system. What I mean is that the devices used in the cigarettes themselves to remove harmful constituents remove the flavor. It is unclear if the flavor of the burning cigarette actually comes from the toxic components. There are some new type products under development right now that they are trying to implement with flavorings in the cigarettes to combat the flavor issue, but that is top secret to a peon like me. Philip Morris leads the industry in funding youth prevention programs, and offers some manner of help for those wanting to quit smoking. I have not really investigated this matter, but it's on the web site if anyone cares to find out about it. PMUSA also was instrumental in the passing of the Master's Settlement Agreement which limits the exposure of tobacco products in the media, which is why you don't see magazine adds, billboards, etc.

not that I can tell, except now my AVG doesn't work, but that could be another issue.
