Why is this team, and staff, so dumb?
ALG1130 replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yet you cared enough to come in here and say you don't care 😄 -
Do you think the offense was better yesterday?
ALG1130 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
My god. Yes, yes the offense was better yesterday. They literally did what people on this forum have been asking for, and that was to put up points EARLY and get things going early. Do I think they left some points off the board? Yes. Was there some boneheaded plays in there? Sure, like the shotgun 3rd down play in the redzone or the weird play that ended in a sack before the two minute warning, but for the most part they were excellent. -

I am sad to say that I actually agree with Nick Wright on the topic of how poorly coached our team is. He said everything I have been thinking. Nick Wright people! Ugh. I know he is over the top and loves to troll Bills fans, but he actually makes some good points here. -
It's frustrating, and witnessing the lucky bounces other teams get as well, like the two point conversion that bounced right back in the players hand. Or the other team always recovering their fumble, or something like Baker getting the ball just out in time before a potential safety. I wish we had more lucky bounces.

It was unnerving. The fact that Godwin did not catch that ball, or look up from it, was the only thing that kept us from having yet another last minute disaster on defense. I mean what the hell, do we have to go through this every week? The Bills dominated on all sides last night, even special teams, and we came dangerously close to yet another extremely frustrating loss at the end. I am grateful it's a win, but something has to give.

You should try reading the statement you are responding to again 🙄

Purdy in Concussion Protocol. Likely OUT this weekend.

Every team but us seem to get little breaks here and there. Us? Nooo. I don't want to be bitter, but I am feeling bitter. -
Beane reportedly looking for LB help (possible rumor)

I wish my rooting for The Bills every week worked out well too 😑 -
It's a weird hate too, not the usual "hate" like "I was wrong about him and now I look silly", but more like a hate breeding from jealousy(not something I usually think when I see people hating). It makes it even more uncomfortable.

Why is everyone focused on the Offense here?
ALG1130 replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did we play the Chiefs last week? The Eagles? Dolphins? No, it was one of the worst offenses in the NFL. It was Mac Jones. I cannot make excuses for that. We still have some solid guys on defense, enough so that they should have been able to stop, at the very least, hold one of the worst offenses in the NFL to a field goal. If we are going to excuse this, then we might as well admit the rest of our season is over, because how are we going to win going forward playing Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts, Tua again etc if we can't even stop a Mac Jones offense? Why even have a defense at all then? I mean, if it has to come down to defensive stops, you would think a lowly team like The Pats would be the one you would want. Obviously it would be a disaster against a team like The Chiefs. I don't know what else to say, but 25 points against The Pats should have been enough, no matter how long it took to get there. 29 points scored by The Pats is just 😱 -
Besides Anger What is on Your Menu for Thursday Night’s Game?
ALG1130 replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably just alcohol. Ditto for the next few games, possibly rest of the season. -
I, one of Josh's defenders, also think he has room for improvement and can work on a lot of things. I think what's so crazy to me is how he is the scapegoat here. Pages upon pages of things he needs to do(and yeah, I don't disagree with some of them) and people acting like this team doesn't have a ton of issues right now. Josh can indeed improve, watch more film etc but outside of The Jets game, I cannot even put any of the losses on him. This team feels like a hot mess right now, from the coaches and ailing and old defense, and lack of productivity in the off season. We have a WR2 that has no business being a WR2(and I hate picking on Gabe. I do.) and Dawson Dropz(another player I love as a person, but oof) and suspect OL(yet again). There are just so many issues with this team right now, I do not feel good about going forward, especially when we meet up with The Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles etc etc I can't imagine deovoting this much time and endless threads on the QB whom usually wills us to wins, or puts us in a spot to win a game. I don't even want to think of what this team looks like without him and Diggs. I am there with you, in this strange parallel universe.

The scrub! Lets trade him to Chicago as some have suggested 👍 -

It's going to be ugly. Even when our D was "healthy" we could not stop them. I am sure Mixon will run all over us again as well. I might need to drink heavily before that game. -
Adam Schein makes some great points on this game, though he has a lot of issues with our head coach, and thinks he is holding the team back. I am not going to say much about Joe Marino, I have seen him say this stuff before. No idea if he is a "Josh hater" or not, but I feel like there is some gaslighting going on here. Go ahead and talk about his reads, missed throws, WHATEVER, he got the team the lead with less than 2 minutes left, and we lost. For me, that is all I need to know. I don't care how sluggish the start is(I mean, I care a little) or how long it takes to get things going, I care about the end result. Against a sad Patriots team, I think 25 points should have been more than enough. MHO.

Floyd was a good pickup, but I am torn on this. I have not paid all that much attention to what DHop has been doing, it seems like we never hear his name? I just wish Beane would be more aggressive with getting help on offense. I just want a tall receiver with sticky hands.
-
Agreed, but I feel like it's more fun when our own team is winning. If we lose Thursday night, I feel like I am resorting back to the drought era, when I was watching other teams play to root for or against them. I don't want to go back to that, even though it is a lot less stressful. All that said, I love an underdog, so Go Vikings!
-
I am not surprised. This is why I don't get excited about getting a RB, because our OL does not do a good enough job for one to flourish. FWIW I like our RB's this year, but it's always going to somewhat of a struggle with our OL.

Just for Lynch saying "no" I am now choosing to root for the Vikings tonight! -
Well, at the very least, the weather looks like it will be nice. 71 in the afternoon and 60's at night. Seems like a nice, clear day. Bad winds/elements make a game feel even more stressful, especially when the said team seems to be struggling.

Are we in the threshhold of hell or what? I mean, I would ask how much worse it could get, but I don't even want to think about it 😕

Devils advocate...what is Josh is the problem?
ALG1130 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't find this to be true. I am not saying he does not have some people who love him, but there are a lot of people who are either fans of other teams trolling as Bills fans, or people who did not want him, and wait for him to either have a bad game to pounce, or, wait for the team to lose, and again, pounce and treat him as a scapegoat. I have been lurking on this forum for years. I really don't see this type of treatment of other great QB's of other teams on their respective boards, and I am not saying he is not without fault or has to be treated special. I can see putting the blame on him for the Jets disaster game. Absolutely, and the defense was stellar in that game. The last three weeks? Especially the last two? When the defense blows a hard fought comeback, then they should be called out as well. Don't care if it was a "mash unit", a lot of teams go through injury/adversity. Sorry, but the defense has a number of times over the years blown a "win". The Hail Murray game, The Tampa Bay game a couple years ago, 13 Seconds, yesterday. They should be called out, just like I would blame Josh for the Minnesota game last year. I can blame Josh too, but I am not going to blame him when I don't think the results of a game were his fault. -

ALG1130 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obviously, in these parts, it's always Josh's fault. Always. He could have a perfect game, and if the defense blows it in the end, people in here will nitpick over a bad throw or drop and blame him. I live for chaos, and I almost wish The Bills would trade him to a team that is a QB away, and he goes to that team and they win a SB. It would be the funniest thing ever, and we could go back to trying to find another franchise QB for 20+ years again. It's what this fanbase deserves. They're a dime a dozen. They grow on trees. Not only will our shiny new QB lead us to the promiseland, he will make Allen look like chopped liver. Can't wait till we snag him in the draft. -
Mixed feelings on this. He's not the most reliable weapon, but he does help out a lot with blocking, and god knows our OL needs all the help.
-
They also seem to love signing bargain basement receivers that are about 5 feet tall. Would it kill this team to get the guy some taller receivers. I hate that all my bad gut feelings over the way the off season was handled are turning out to be right. I don't even understand it. Did Beane just give up? Surely he saw how we fared against Cincy, and saw a lot of good teams in our conference and division add more pieces, and he still felt we were fine? I don't get it. I am honestly to the point of being amazed that he went and got us Diggs and Miller.
