Blacksburg, VA: How is it?
John in VA Beach replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got my grad degree from VT. It is a boring area, but a nice college town. Radford (40 minutes away) is the serious party stop with LOTS of hot easy college women... -
Actually, they had 100 HD games last year. They are touting a new package as something that was included last year. I just wrote directv and let them know my negative impressions of this scam.

Living outside WNY, that SD game was the first Bills game I ever saw at 10years old. His grit and determination made me a fan for life. Good luck Joe!

Yahoo Sports grades the bills last
John in VA Beach replied to JeffGordon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we traded up I think it would have been to take Nugent. There is no link above, so let me ask, what does Yahoo think about the Jets draft in general and specifically regarding using a pick on a kicker. This is just my opinion, but the "professionals" that give the Bills higher marks for this draft all seem to take into account that JP was worth the trade and seem to consider him part of this draft. Frankly, this thinking is okay to me also. -
home buying advice re: major renovations
John in VA Beach replied to Hardy Pyle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just went through the same thing. The kitchen top to bottom took two weeks. The bathroom two days. I agree it always takes longer to do things than you estimate and the $ guesses are always lower than the reality. I had the siding and six windows done for just under 12 K. This was by far the best price, the house is 2100 sq ft, to give you some perspective. I have painted all walls and installed all new fixtures. I'd say that it has in total costed about 40K total. As others have said, you will learn a great deal and be amazed how much you can do your self! I still need to replace the carpet and do a master bath... My best advise is that if you see any mold, pass on the house. There was a problem with closing on mine and we rented for two months prior to buying. During this time we could not fix anything, for obvious reasons. The kitchen was a mess and the cabinets had mold. I was sick with bizzarro symptoms for almost six months from that crap. I would never touch a house again with any signs of mold. Having said that, now that I am getting better, I'm still greatful for the experience. Doing it yourself really makes it your house. -
I hope the Sanders comment was in jest, but someone needs to tell him that humor doesn't always go over well on the internet. As far as holding out, if he is a very special athlete for the next season or two he will deserve a hefty raise IMO. Tying a raise to an extension could actually be a very good thing for the Bills. Regardless, didn't he sign a highly incentive laiden contract? I'm sure he reached a lot of bonuses last year and hope he does so again this year!

OT - Two new Bills Fans
John in VA Beach replied to KnightRider's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a premie too. He is four and doing great now. Your twins are a pretty good weight. It amazing what they can do at nicu's these days. The hospital does not like to tell you a time frame that gets your hopes up if there are any complications, but you are probably looking at about 4-5 weeks at the nicu. The oxygen is pretty common. When a premie is born there is a lot of fluid in the lungs and the oxygen just keeps the lungs opened well. Good luck! -
I saw a NFL All Access show a few weeks ago when the Shelton thing was pretty early on. Green stated when asked the situation with the Henry trade that draft picks make the world go round, or something to that effect. He definetly implied he wanted Henry and picks. He may have dropped this stance, but that is where he was at a few weeks ago.

They should rename it, "moron meter". -
Great pictures of Clarrett
John in VA Beach replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I don't have much of a life, but those are some of the funniest pics I've ever seen. Truely great stuff. -
Feeling that TD will not re-sign Pat W.
John in VA Beach replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tend to agree, but am starting to wonder why an extension has not happened prior to free agency. Maybe TD wants to see where the market is? -
I think his salary and on field accomplishments is a perfect example of why the draft is way overrated and free agency is a preferable option to building a good team.

Alright, who's the next whipping boy?
John in VA Beach replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got to be Lindell if he is around... God I hope the guy is unemployed soon. -
anyone catch DB's comments about JP!
John in VA Beach replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bledsoe did add especially not for JP. I though it was interesting and his right to say it. Since that is the worst thing he said in an otherwise friendly goodbye, a lot of you folks got a lot better than you deserved. -
Thanks. Damn shame theres no ESR.

I hope the Eagles get squashed
John in VA Beach replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like the Eagles. It really pissed me off to see that a team who could potentially loose four straight championship games was being compared to a team that won four.. However, they won the championship game and I hope they beat the Pats. If the pats win I won't be disapointed anyway, I expect them to win....again. -
Price getting slammed on Falcon's board.
John in VA Beach replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No thanks on Price. He has lost a step, runs weak patterns, and needs to play on old-style turf. When he lit it up he was younger and playing on turf. he won't be cut, but is close to being asked to take a pay cut. -

Not on the lips Romeo. -
there is a reason Modrak is still in Buffalo..
John in VA Beach replied to bluenews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, everyone in the organization has supported Bledsoe at one time or another, in fact who hasn't? Lots of other GM and assistants, in fact all, passed on McGee too. Vincent, when healthy, helped the team and will continue to do so next year. -
Remember Moulds WGR55am Radio interview..

How good is Michael Vick??
John in VA Beach replied to SouthTownBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barry Sanders had tons of rushes for negative yards, but the good were so goods they made up for the bad. I look at Vick's sacks the same way. You might stop him a couple of times, but eventually he will burn you bad and make up for the negative plays. -
How good is Michael Vick??
John in VA Beach replied to SouthTownBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys are stoned. the guy is a complete winner. The best athlete I have ever seen. His second year he had the Falcons ( perneial loser) in the playoffs 10-6 and beat the then precieved invincible packers in the playoffs. Last year he is out and the team sucked. This years he's back and look at the results. BTW, he is two wins from a SB this year and his receivers stink. No way can the falcons play the AFC a good game this year, but that is the team not Vick's fault. -
Very nice-- an upgrade to be sure. I really like the return of a true red and blue.

Background on Moss's moon shot
John in VA Beach replied to JarHeadJim's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is a link to the published article with the Dungy quote toward the middle. http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3311208 -
Actually, the Fox crew caught Moss acting like a baby twice. Before he mooned the bay, he was on camera yelling to the GB fans to look at the MotherF'n scoreboard several times.
