This raiders team is trying to turn the corner. But a few of Kiffin's quotes made it sound like he was daring Davis to fire him. If I owned a team I wouldn't take that.

Any Tailgaters For Skins Game?
John in VA Beach replied to otisly00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have an extra seat in section 125 behind the Bills bench row seven, my seats are 6-9. If you are going it alone, you are welcome to move down to the seat if you want to sit closer. -

Yes. I'm getting a slide show.

Thats great news. We also know that next weeks game being on Fox will be in HD as well. That makes four in a row! I think that totals last years Bills HD broadcasts for the entire season!

Directv rep told me that the preseason NFL Network games were not being carried in HD. However, the regular season games in Nov. would be on channel 95.

V-Coach alert: Bills sign...

Marv didn't draft him to go to the probowl, he drafted him to go to the superbowl -
ESPN PTI backs Marv and the draft
John in VA Beach replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A while back when Marv was hired they both felt he was a good choice for the GM, and a great football mind in general. Basically, they agreed that his age was not a factor, and he looked like he hadn't aged a day since retiring as coach. -
Ralph Didn't Understand Proposal
John in VA Beach replied to SHOUTBOX MONSTER!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph's explanation of voting no because they only had 45 minutes to grasp a very important business proposal was acceptable and probably one of the few honest answers from the owners. Where Ralph got in trouble is that when pushed for more info, at his age, he doesn't explain things well. He didn't need to add that he didn't understand the proposal. He just needed to say there wasn't enough time in his opinion to weigh such a big decision. I also got the impression there was some other reason for his vote. He actually seemed pretty adamant when he said he voted no to the press. -
*BREAKING NEWS* Mort says deal in principle done!!
John in VA Beach replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read the link above and am curious, does the fact that the proposal is being submitted to the owners mean that the NFL in principle approves of the proposal? I read the link and tried to do some searches, but everything I read doesn’t indicate a deal is imminent. In fact, ESPN News says that Upshaw presented this as the NFLPA’s final proposal and the League said basically “okay we’ll show the owners what you’ve got”. Where is the optimism coming from? Thanks in advance…. -

Agreement reached with Moulds
John in VA Beach replied to SOPRANO 3695's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simon, obviously everytime this soprano guy/girl posts it gets a lot more hits than the usual posts on this board. Not everyone read the other thread, so my post was not out of line and unlike yours, I didn't try to be offensive (although funny), I just wanted to point out the facts. Now I've already exceeded my .5 posts a day or whatever my average is so I'll say seeya. -
Agreement reached with Moulds
John in VA Beach replied to SOPRANO 3695's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dean, Figure you might know this, but just want to clear it up for those that don't. This is just Simon picking back on the poster that he had a disagreement with in this thread Link, probably nothing else. Remeber, SDS confirmed Soprano was local and the poster Simon addresses is not. -
Well you know what they say, four wrongs don't make a right. Plus, I think Levy has a little more class.

Maybe Marv justs wants to give Eric his own goodbye day because he's meant a lot more to the organization than the underachievers we just released.
-
Ted had his best year in a while. 44 tackles if I remember correctly.
-
You know with how underwhelming this team has been over the last few years. This is the perfect season to purge the roster and pick from a large pool of players that are being released from other teams already over the cap. Heck, I'd invite free agent lineman in make them an offer and then cut enough player to make it work if they accept.

Vernon Davis vs. Haloti Ngata
John in VA Beach replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you are drafting 8, you expect a starter first year. We aren't a good team, therfore I'd expect Marv to go with the most immediate help and that screams out DL and Ngata, even if VD is the better player. Having said that VD is tempting and probably the choice if the big three lineman are off the board when the Bills choose. -
VD is a stud and I am surprising myself to say that I am not opposed if he is picked. I just don't know what plan b would be for the lines. Also, I just heard ESPN News report that a new CBA should be done in the next 24 hrs at 102- 107 mill. If that happens, keeping Eric is much more possible. A word of caution though, it was the pencil necked geek who made the espn report.

AJ Smith and Marty not seeing eye to eye
John in VA Beach replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats a really good point. I saw the stories touting his career turnaround was directly attributable to his strength training and increased throwing velocity. -
Vince Young and the Wonderlic
John in VA Beach replied to gobillsinytown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Okay, I'll bite. If the wonderlic isn't used by scouts as an indicator of the athletes mental capabilities, what does it indicate? For a QB, mental capabilities would include reading D, understanding coverage schemes, comprehending complex playbooks, etc. I don't need to site any historical data for that claim do I? Its common sense. Sure some folks beat the odds, however, the whole point of the wonderlic is to tell you if someone needs to beat the odds or if they are a pretty safe bet.
