  1. Ever lost that one??
  2. As of today, the glass seems to be mostly OK. It will all be inspected because some of the lead, holding it together, may have taken some heat damage, but when we remember the hoffific pics. during the fire, it's amazing that it mostly all survived. All the stained glass is not original to the initial building. Much of it has been replaced over the years, and that craft continues to live on. Looks the same to my old typing skills.
  3. It's a modern day tragedy but when you think of all the European Cathedrals that were bombed during WW!!, and later rebuilt, it's maybe more imaginable. France "owns" Notre Dam. It's an important a Catholic worship site, but it's also a huge tourist attraction, so there will be $$ to keep that going. Substitute structural steel for the 800 year old timbers and Viola! There are also many stained glass masters in France/Germany that could help with the restoration.
  4. I expect that whomever had the remodel contract had some. If it's proven that the fire started there, they are in deep merde.
  5. So sad to see that happen to such an iconic landmark. We were last there on St Patrick's day, 2013. Hopefully, when it's daylight there, they can pinpoint the cause, and see what's salvageable. It will be rebuilt, but not with wood this time. I know a Fire Inspector in NYC who told me that they call the roof of St Patrick's Cathedral, the Lumber Yard. That was just remodeled too, and they added a water misting system on the wood ceiling.
  6. Don't be upset if you get ICE in your drink.
  7. He just bought it from a guy on the corner of 6th & 48th.
  8. I know about He Hate Me, now He Hate Mulch too?
  9. Must have made them take the Cheese heads off for the mug shots.
  10. Usually play them backwards, for a better ending.
  11. I was walking along the Battery, and struck up a conversation with a Police Officer. Asked him if he was there for Hugo? He said yes. Had to ask how he and his family survived, he said; "State Farm was very, very good to me!"
  12. If he's in Carolina, that means Beane will for sure want to sign him next season.
  13. Have not been since 2000 but remember being told that one of the old church steeples was damaged by Hurricane Hugo. When they went up to fix/straighten it, they found a canon ball embedded in one of the timbers. It was decided that it was likely still "live," so they left it there. It may still be up there?
  14. Ending up as marine poop, who cares? Have the environmentalists approved this?? Unless you die of "natural causes," we'll be making the sea creatures sick with what we had.
  15. Does he have Uber on quick dial?
  16. Hate to be judgemental with mug shots, but NO.
  17. I am optimistic BUT cautious in that it will be his 2nd season, and many players don't live up to the hype in the 2nd season. Hopefully by this time next year the caution will have given way to a lot of great memories. If he does not live up to expectations, that does not mean he's not good and has no potential BUT a lot of it will be what HE believes about himself and his abilities. Great coaching should even that out.
  18. Yeah, but back in the day??
  19. Would that be the Good Dareus or the Bad Dareus?
  20. Always hate to see anyone fired, but REALLY, should have happened at the all star break.
  21. I owe so much, I should have a large funeral. A lot of creditors will be sad to see me go.
  22. Very unfair! Hate to think of all the "old" sh*t that I could have had a problem with. So far, no convictions!
  23. I always thought Old Style was the Genesee of Chicago.
