When they tore down the Erie County Bank, at Shelton Square, and the Central Library, they were also supposed to come down fast but their construction prevented that from happening. They were both classically beautiful buildings that were replaced by ordinary crap! I'll be sorry to see the Aud go because of all the good memories. Friday Night Wrestling, Hockey Bisons, Little Three Basketball, The Circus, The Ice Capades were all great. I believe the Aud was built around the same time as Civic Stadium (the Rockpile), both WPA projects from the late 30's. Maybe we should call the Aud the Rockpile II.

This future stuff is all speculation. With all due respect to Jim, the future ownership of the team will determine everything, and nobody in their right mind would make any stadium committments before that. Niagara Falls is in worse shape than Buffalo. Most of the "suitable" building sites would likely be toxic waste clean-up sites. It would be less convenient from Rochester because the Interstate roads run thru Buffalo. The Lewiston/Queenston Bridge is another choke point, no better than the still to be improved??? Peace Bridge. No question a "new" stadium must be in the Downtown Buffalo area but I don't see that happening till the future ownership question is setteled.

OK, we played our FIRST HOME GAME away from our HOME. Last night's game in no way resembled the opener against Washington. Considering Pre-season, and the fact that the result does not matter, does anyone else think the fix was in? Could the NFL have pre-destined a BILLS win to further it's own future Marketing Plans?
