  1. It accommodated industry along the lake shore.
  2. I always liked Chuck. I was living in Seattle when he moved there. He coached 'The Boz!" Maybe Ralph was right about not wanting to pay Cousineau?
  3. The famous Garbage Plate Loophole!
  4. Pole dance or not, they do really smell pretty bad!
  5. Well there may be something to that. I like the name Buffalo Saints because it will be a miracle if we make the playoffs!
  6. Well played! I thought the Hawaii thing had to do with lava rocks that belonged to the goddess Pele? You no mess wit Pele's stones bruddah!
  7. Yeah, I thought it was another Clinton story.
  8. Did the South try to take the rocks?
  9. He's a Boy Scout!
  10. I was at Dulles then. Having lived in Seattle 78-81 & 86-2003 I'll never understand how a guy could jump over wilderness, in the dark, in November, and without; a heavy coat, gloves and hiking boots, and could have ever survived. The jump was survivable but overnight in the Pacific NW woods, in November, no way! After that happened Boeing gave us a kit to prevent the airstairs from opening while in the air. It was a metal piece with a tab, that was turned 90 degrees. Once the 727 reached 100 kts., the airflow would hit the tab, and rotate the small plate to block the path of the stairs. The stairs still worked as normal while on the ground, when the plane was not moving. United had an identical hi-jacking out of Salt Lake, a few months after DB, but he died in a gun battle with the FBI, while they were trying to arrest him. They were great airplanes but needed a 3 man crew and were not very fuel efficient, so they were mostly phased out. FedEx kept a bunch up till about 2-3 years ago but they got replaced by 757's.
  11. Since I'm not a morning person, always worked a swing shift, AND would gladly work weekends in exchange for week days off. I don't like to wait in lines, or rush hour traffic. I also, stay away from weekends, when everybody else is off, and in front of me in various lines. That got me thru 35 years at United Airlines and and additional 12 at Richmond Airport, working for the Airport Commission, not an airline. By the time I started work all the "parades and dog & pony shoes" were pretty much over. Just retired last February. Oh yeah, no overnight shifts either.
  12. Sweet! The stupid Government paid 90 mil to the USCG, and then another Government agency said the site wouldn't work??? Would have made sense to involve the the eventual inspection agency in the deal, before it closed.i Kind of like a pre-sale inspection, or maybe a "subject to" inspection clause in the original contract? At least we didn't buy it from the Russians or Chinese! I have property that likely wouldn't work either, but I'm open to all Government offers.
  13. People have no R-E-S-P-E-C-T! No respect for themselves, no respect for other humans, no respect for the law, etc., etc. .Till that somehow changes, nothing else will. Sadly, that could take generations.
  14. Brady sold his soul to the Devil years ago...live with it! It was a package deal along with Belicheat, and most of New England.
  15. Hadn't been there since it opened in the 70's. You could even park underground then, which was a big deal when there was nowhere else. They've got way too many exhibits jammed in there now. It looks cluttered and not taken care of. I'd rather pay a few bucks for them to at least dust & vacuum..
  16. RIP Lois! Growing up, there was NO daytime TV. Superman used to be on WBEN at 7PM on Wednesday. I'd watch that freakin test pattern waiting for the news, followed by Superman.
  17. My wife & I visited the; Museum of Natural History and the Air & Space museums. Had not been there since the late 70's. The whole place needs a good dusting and cleaning. I know its been called America's Attic but it's really not being taken care of.
  18. Maybe a distant relative of Hank Bullough, no??
