  1. Not only that, but... "Hoard"? And that's supposed to be THE professional sports reporting site? What a !@#$ing joke...
  2. Actually, the problem is the media and Congress don't want Americans' phones tapped without a warrant. We don't actually know what Americans think...and are you REALLY willing to just assume Congress and the media represent them?
  3. I think Paul would be happy with anything other than what an Evil B word Snake Woman suggests...
  4. Insurgency and Counter-Insurgency in Iraq by Ahmed S. Hashim. Good book, actually...meticulously researched, very well-balanced, and surprisingly readable, particularly considering the author's a professor at the Naval War College. Anyone who wants to know what's going on in Iraq should turn off the horeshit shovelled by CNN and Fox and read this book.
  5. Maybe you're from the wrong neighborhood then...
  6. Nothing. There's this new invention I discovered called "books". Fascinating things...you can actually use them without plugging them in...
  7. That's normal. Years ago, when the wife managed a bank, someone robbed it. Naturally, the teller put the dye pack in with the money - bright orange, permanent dye. PERMANENT dye. Robber runs from the store, stuffs the money down his pants...dye pack explodes. Robber is now dyed bright orange from his waist to his knees for the rest of his life. Robber got 20 years in prison...and a multi-million dollar court award for the "emotional sufferring" caused by not being able to have sex without explaining why his dick was bright orange.
  8. Thurman I voted you off, not because you fumbled the ball away in consecutive drives in SB XXVIII...but because you sulked on the bench for the next drive afterward. You could see the team deflate when you did that. You gave me a lot of good memories, Thurman...but I'll never forgive you for that.
  9. Remember that awesome pancake block that took out both the defensive end and outside linebacker and sprung McGahee for that long touchdown run? Yeah, neither do I...
  10. It doesn't sound pathetic. It is pathetic.
  11. That would sound so much nicer lacking the "the contract of" part...
  12. Did you SEE what those refs were calling against Costa Rica? Hideous. Costa Rica was getting called for any contact out there. The Germans, on the other hand, could have taken brass knuckles to the Costa Ricans, for all the refs cared.
  13. Was 2002 a disaster? I know it was disaster in terms of viewers HERE...but that'll happen when you're showing games at 5am...
  14. Did I say "defeatist attitude"? I was just surprised at the lack of effort. You can be a sh------- team and still try...
  15. C'mon...Germans take their beer seriously. That's not NEARLY as stupid as "freedom fries".
  16. Yeah...what's his name. The German right winger, who was open all friggin' day. I can understand letting someone get behind you once or twice...but for a whole 90 minutes plus? It didn't help either, on that play, that Costa Rica's #12 was seriously dogging it. He was in position to cut off that pass to the center...he just couldn't be bothered. Hell, you could have put my flabby ass back there, and while I would have failed to disrupt the pass as well, I at least would have made an attempt...
  17. I think y'all have managed to memorialize him perfectly so far.
  18. So then, the first surgery wasn't entirely successful? "We're sorry, Mr. Williams...we failed to remove your toenails." Good doctors, those. A couple mafiosi with pilers could do a better job...
  19. Did you miss where I said "and cash"?
  20. Posted by Ned Flanders, as well...
  21. Germany's first TWO were beautiful. You won't see a more perfect play than their second.
  22. Juist skimming this post quick, I thought I saw "Retatta Stone" there. Biggest double-take of my life.
  23. Though in a few of the clannish and tribal regions of the Sunni triangle, insurgency IS the family business, and if you catch dad running operational security for a terrorist cell, it's a dead-nuts certainty that all three of his wives and all his sons are helping out as well. But I hasten to add: 1) that's only in SOME places 2) that's almost entirely antithetical to the Salafist ideas that al-Zarqawi fought for...i.e. his family was NOT in the business, and 3) while "guilt by association" may be a simple, practical reality in the tribal Arab world, it isn't in ours. Does anyone REALLY want to give up our principles to fight a distinct minority of tribal Arabs by theirs?
  24. Same reason the right can't ignore the Kennedys or Michael Moore. Immaturity.
