This illustrates a good point: that no statistic on its own is very meaningful. A 5.0 YPC can be meaningless if it represents 1 81-yard run and 19 one-yard runs...but if a back's longest rush is for 8 yards and he has a 5.0 YPC, he pretty much dominated the game. Most football stats are like that: they mean a hell of a lot more in concert with other stats than they do on their own. (Or they're even contraindicated by other stats - a RB with 19 yards on 19 carries is having a lousy day...unless he's got 11 rushing first downs as well, because then he's sustaining drives.) So the most useless stat would probably have to be a number that is supposed to, on its own, tell an entire story about an individual's or team's performance. That would have to be QB rating.

It's not that hard to make your OWN ammo for your OWN gun. Try doing that for every gun, for retail sales.

Actually, there's probably little discernable difference between tribal issues and insurgent issues at this point. The insurgency is heavily dependent on tribalism throughout much of the Sunni region.

An unreasonable chunk of them are. Part of the issue is that a good number of Sunni are simply upset at the Shi'ia "minority" being put in power, and see little wrong with killing Shi'ia to begin with. (FYI, I define "an unreasonable chunk" in this context as one group. Maybe three or four non-Islamic Sunni groups think that way, plus a couple of Islamic groups. Out of maybe forty insurgent groups. So it's hardly a Sunni majority thinking like that.)
