  1. Something suitable for a one-legged spherical gecko. Of course, I'm assuming your question is merely rhetorical and sarcastic, and choose not to respond seriously...
  2. Yeah, it takes a real mother!@#$ing genius of a coach to teach his team to dive like Greg Louganis.
  3. It was a good test of the ABM system nonetheless. Because I guarantee you there was at least one (probably more like three) Aegis-equipped ships in the Sea of Japan tracking the launches.
  4. If we can't make sex jokes about that, then what's the !@#$ing point of posting it?
  5. Given how much of the Netherlands sits below the level of the North Sea, that's hardly surprising. Makes one think swimming lessons should be mandatory in New Orleans...
  6. "Home prices don't go up 4 times in 5 years...except when they do!" Statements like that are why many people here think you're an idiot.
  7. Considering that space flight involves sitting on a million pounds of highly explosive rocket fuel and launching one's self into a highly physically stressful flight that, if successful, terminates in what is quite possibly the most hostile environment imaginable, only to return via a flight path that will burn away solid rock...I'd say the shuttle's no more fatally flawed than any other manner of space flight. A product of stupid design trade-offs, sure...but no more fatally flawed than Soyuz or Apollo. The rest of your sentence, I agree with wholeheartedly...save that some of it's 1970's era technology. And the SSME's may actually be 1980's era...great big steaming piles of elephant sh-- though they are...
  8. Tedy Bruschi. He died for our sins, then rose on the third day to play football again...
  9. "Up", as far as I heard, isn't the issue. They seriously ought to scrap that white elephant of an X-plane post-haste and build a real space vehicle.
  10. Holy sh--. Wow. I mean, I hate the !@#$ing Eye-talians (bunch of pansy-ass divers)...but holy sh--.
  11. Nonsense. Housing in Manhattan is very affordable. It's quite easy to get a large 2-br apartment on a couple of meager salaries, say what a waitress or unemployed actor would make. I saw it on Friends... Scary thing is, there's more than a few people who would think "I saw it on Friends, so it must be true." Is it any wonder the housing market's !@#$ed up?
  12. Bull. Absolute bull. And I do actually know something about that. There is no way senior military officers are objecting to a request from the Secretary of Defense or Vice President to provide a nuclear option. Hirsh is talking out of his ass. Again.
  13. Let me give you a little help: rense.com and whatreallyhappened.com are lunatic sites as well. As is moveon.org. Slightly more credible is www.whitehouse.gov...but only slightly.
  14. Funny...Hirsh says the same thing about you. The difference is: Hirsh writes for the New Yorker, so he's credible.
  15. Like it wouldn't be changed in translation to "Truth, Justice, and Allahu Akbar!" for Turkish cinematic release...
  16. Hell yes. Dude..."prisonplanet.com".
  17. Trim the lawn? Uhhh...wait, what?
  18. I have no insight as to the specific content, except to say that 1) it's from Hirsh, 2) Hirsh is an idiot, and 3) content from Hirsh is therefore not worth discussing. Actually, I have one bit of insight: Iran, right now, is State's ball game. The DoD should shut the !@#$ up and let State do its job. The Pentagon should never be at odds with White House foreign policy, for the simple reason that I don't ever want the Pentagon dictating foreign policy. This, by the way, is the same "shut the !@#$ up and soldier" criticism I levelled at Rumsfeld in late 2002 for spouting off on diplomatic issues that were rightfully Powell's responsibility.
  19. Not a conclusion, a question. Which is worse, kickball or cripple croquet?
  20. You'd prefer to watch kickball?
  21. That's because learning survival skills is dangerous. You can't teach a kid basic survival swimming without dressing them in full flotation gear.
  22. I wouldn't worry then, since there is no "human affect" on the environemt anyway. I'm more worried about the "human effect", myself...but even then, we're not going to kill the planet. The planet will be here for a LONG time after we're dust.
  23. More like "experienced - sat on the bench while Favre played". Sitting on the bench while a future hall of famer plays does NOT equal playing time. As for the article itself...I can't even begin to recall all the times a guy was impressive in mini-camp and couldn't cut it on the field. I don't give a sh-- who's QB, as long as they put the best guy for the team on the field. But I HIGHLY doubt an early July article from Scout.com is going to factor in to that.
