Nothing shows ignorance like condemning the entire CA judicial system based on an a priori assumption of guilt of one defendant... Did you actually follow the trial? It was a weak case, poorly prosecuted. Given the same charges and "evidence", your average public defender would have won this case. A GOOD public defender would have gotten it tossed when the prosecution finished their case...which shows how pitiful Jackson's defense team was. And I'll say again the first thing I said when they brought the charges: I can't believe, out of all the accusations that have been levelled against MJ over the years, that they chose this case to prosecute. If I ever do something really, really wrong, I hope I'm prosecuted by these boneheads...

So the story here is that it happened in Aruba? Because something like 200 bills were introduced early in the century for banning lynching. Only one made it to the floor...and didn't pass. I'd say that's worth an apology. Your reasoning is...well, awkward. But the principle - that smoking isn't permitted where food is served - has been put into practice in some places. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with it. Though honestly...it's not an issue I follow too closely. My view on smoking has been and will always be the same as my views on nose picking or masturbation: if you have to do it, do it in private and don't force me to participate in it.
