  1. The criminal record, mostly...
  2. Just because they can sue file sharing companies doesn't mean they can win... I actually agree with this decision; the movie and music producers should have the right to take the issue to court and have it decided by a jury.
  3. I understood it. But then, I haven't taken my meds yet today, either. Guess it's a sign I should...
  4. He'd probably have to kill his detractors. Some zealots are never going to accept him, no matter what.
  5. "Beighboodhood"? Holy elephant sh--, that's such a bad typo, it even has typos itself... My dream is to save away a good chunk of change (a good one, not just a few hundred K), then sink it into muni bonds and other vehicles states can't tax, and THEN move back to Buffalo. Love the area, HATE paying any taxes to NYS.
  6. Good. Stupid friggin' thread anyway.
  7. I second that. I just popped it in the VCR and watched the opening. Anyone who you see lose a limb (or get chopped in half, or such), does so to shell fire, not bullets.
  8. That shade only comes in the big 64-crayon box, doesn't it?
  9. We may be chimps...but we're chimps who can spell.
  10. I think there's been enough time since Clinton's presidency to pass reasonable judgement on it. Personally, I'd give him very low marks - particularly on foreign policy, considering the cornerstone of his foreign policy seemed to be "Let someone else worry about it". This is the guy, after all, that let Unocol and Mavis Leno (????) dictate his Southwest Asia policy...
  11. I thought it had a touch of burnt umber mixed in...
  12. After giving it much thought, I agree with this one. With Carter getting an honorable mention.
  13. Personally, I prefer my Amnesty International to be lemon flavored...
  14. How about: because it causes people to become total idiots that end up moving to Indiana and posting their inane opinions on internet message boards... Seriously, though..."mentally" addictive as opposed to "physically" addictive? Prove to me those are two different things. And after you do, I'll introduce you to quite a few people who are "mentally" addicted to it more so than most people are to cigarettes...
  15. "Original screenplay"? That's a lot to ask these days...and I'd disagree with it, as well. I'd sooner see a well-done remake (e.g. Ocean's Eleven or The Thomas Crown Affair) than a crappy original screenplay (e.g. Battlefield Earth or Waterworld).
  16. So your opinion's an informed one, at least. But you don't consider it a good movie...but you don't consider it a bad one? What, precisely, qualifies as a "good" movie by your standards?
  17. Okay...now tell us how many of those you've actually seen. I mean, if you haven't seen the Passion of the Christ and don't think it's good, your opinion's hardly an informed one then...
  18. Points for creativity, at least...but could their propaganda get ANY more heavy-handed?
  19. Sometimes it is. The AFT was a client of mine for about three years. They are the quintessential example of a terminally useless union, and if they disappeared from the face of the planet their union members would not only not suffer for it but would probably be better off simply for not having the union leeching off them. (In fact, I've known union stewards who've become rabidly anti-union after dealing with the AFT for six weeks.) On the other hand, everything Bill in NYC's told me about the leadership in the NYCPD's union makes me believe that that particular union does some good, at the very least. Ditto things I've heard from people here concerning the DC steelworkers' local. So I'm willing to stipulate that they're not all bad, and judge them on a case-by-case basis.
  20. You forgot: "P.S. You're gay"
  21. If he comes after you, settle before it goes to court...
  22. Actually, Darin likes the old 2246 terminal.
  23. I liked his plan so much I voted for him before I voted against him.
  24. That's what you get for reelecting Bush. If Kerry were in the White House, all of this would have been fixed by now...
  25. Well...almost all...
