  1. "Weirding modules". Stupid-ass movie. The Sci-Fi channel's mini-series adaptation was better.
  2. Reason being, before they could screen for HIV directly, they had to do it by risk category. IV drug users (i.e. narcotics) were a high-risk category for AIDS. I believe at the time they also tried to convince gays not to donate blood...but they couldn't actually forbid it because it's a civil rights violation (like the friggin' virus cares ).
  3. What a surprise.
  4. Yeah. Start refusing to pray!
  5. Uh...no. Experimental procedure using engineered proteins to inhibit certain synthase that interfere with the cholinergic synapses in the nervous system. Since the proteins are known to cause a histemic reaction in the body, it's not uncommon for patients to experience inflammation in organs with a high proportion of cholinergic cells...the brain and spinal cord, basically. So essentially, the treatment "causes" a non-infectious meningitis, which although not fatal is very painful and debilitating. Not that LA knows jack sh-- about it, I'm sure. He's just using it as a convenient joke.
  6. Well...most people can relate to office hijinks. Not nearly as many know someone who's undergone genetic ablation of inducible nitric oxide synthase. So it's hard to work up sympathy for him. Plus...if he's in Scranton, he's as good as dead anyway.
  7. I'm praying, all right...I'm praying for a great big rock to fall from space and take this idiot out. Friggin' newbies wasting bandwith with meaningless "Pay attention to me, I'm special! Say a prayer for my pet parakeet, she just had her beak trimmed!" posts.
  8. Probably some place that manufactures styrofoam packing peanuts...
  9. Oh, Christ. Even a retard like taterhill know this is bull sh--. So now I've got the short bus ganging up on me for mocking someone who clearly deserves to be mocked? Forget the Army...try the Cub Scouts first. I doubt you're mature enough to handle any more responsibility than that.
  10. Living with mom, too heavy for service...T-Bone? Anyone seen NG lately?
  11. Don't worry, you can always join the Marines. Sounds like you could use the discipline, in fact. On second thought...maybe the Army. You sound like too much of a whiner for the Corps.
  12. But he's not all right.
  13. Kenny Loggins' is LA's dad?
  14. Oh, gee, you're right. Let's start a silent thread for your coworker...a lunatic who changed the world. Nobody cares. Hell, half of us are too busy worrying about or own coworkers going postal to give a sh-- about yours.
  15. He could borrow yours... But you're using it. Nevermind...
  16. I actually did something similar to a coworker once. He left his sunroof open on nice days. One day, me and a few other guys got some of those packing peanuts (the biodegradable ones made out of corn starch, not the styrofoam ones) and filled his car to the roof with them. Weeks later, he was still finding those things. We also once got a roll of the plastic wrap they use to wrap shipping pallets. One afternoon this guy's taking a nap in his car, we went out and wrapped him and the car in plastic. Funny, though...I never had to ask anyone to say a prayer for him. Probably because I have a life.
  17. I didn't know you could write a post that didn't B word about AD's attitude. Impressive.
  18. But what do you know? You're just a pawn for your country's illegal foreign policy. You should commit treason.
  19. I think I've seen better shooters than Ovechkin (not many...Gretzky and Jagr are the only ones that immediately come to mind), but his puck handling skills are other-worldly.
  20. No. Head of household implies a household. You're single with one dependent - yourself. And at your age with your finances, your deductions will almost certainly not be more than the standard deduction. I've got work-related deductions and far greater deductible medical expenses than you, and it's an even money bet my deductions will exceed the standard deduction. But do it both ways anyway...you'll learn a lot, and who knows? You just might exceed the standard deduction.
  21. "It's Sunday, football's on, I'm bored, there's nothing to do...I know, I'll post on a message board that I'm bored!" Retard.
  22. Well...she's lost nine pounds since I've told her. And the couch is comfortable.
  23. Same reason other countries never recognized Libya's exclusive right to the Gulf of Sidra. There are international rules and laws in place that dictate such things. Which is one of the reasons I disliked the article. It made no mention of precisely what the Canadians were defending - their recognized 12-mile national waters, their 100 mile (or whatever) economic zone, any and all fisheries they lay claim to regardless of distance from their coast (as I recall, they've had conflicts with Europeans and the US over such things before), or the arctic as a whole. AS you well know, it makes a BIG difference.
  24. Yeah, pretty much. Has a Congressional investigation ever produced anything of practical worth?
