  1. Which is surprising...I'd have thought the refs would have New England up by now...
  2. Smart play by Rothlesberger, though. You don't often see THAT much awareness of the LOS from a scrambling QB.
  3. I don't know...Hines Ward's looked shorter... And how the hell do you get offensive pass interference called on a screen?
  4. But his career apparently is not. Does Disney own his soul or something? He's no threat to ever win an Oscar, but he should be getting better roles than "Shaggy dog". And it started out so well. Kermit doing extreme sports had so much promise...
  5. The Escalade commercial made me want to buy a Toyota...
  6. "Why'd you learn Spanish?" "...For your future." I'd settle for the dimwits at McDonalds learning English for the sake of not !@#$ing up an order for "large fries".
  7. Did just the opposite for me (not that I'll stop using Aleve, though...it does wonders for my knee). Plus...they had it wrong. Trekkies in Next Generation uniforms waiting for the Vulcan salute from Spock? Uh-uh...any true Spockophile would be wearing original-series velour. Next Generation poly-rayon blends are for mouth-breathing Picard-lovers like /dev/null.
  8. I'll give them credit for showing a competing product, which doesn't often happen in soda commercials. Probably because it reminds people of the competing product...just as it did me, so I grabbed a Coke out of the fridge. Or it destroys nature. "The Acrua MDX: leave a trail of post-industrial development wherever you go."
  9. Far less obvious push-offs have been called this season, though. It might be ticky-tacky, but it's at least consistent.
  10. Now I know you're drunk. That commercial sucked. And I'm a Star Trek fan.
  11. That was f'in horrible. Made the "New England Diet Pepsi Machine" commercials look like artistic genius. And I think you're selling the FedEx commercial short. It wasn't that bad.
  12. I was just about to say as much. What's wrong with Pittsburgh's coverage today? So far, the only decent coverage I've seen was three plays ago when they rushed four and got no pressure...and Hasselbeck still completed to Jurevicius.
  13. Is it safe to assume you don't like any of the commercials, even the ones that haven't aired yet?
  14. But then the Islamic world would torch all our embassies...
  15. It cost them roughly $4M just to air that piece of sh-- commercial. For the first time in 30 years, Burger King has a coherent marketing campaign...and it's coherent crap. Had I not been boycotting Burger King already (simply because their food is crap), I would over that stupid commercial.
  16. Most unworthy, too. Soda Machine deserved it more.
  17. Most of 'em pass over China too...so I can see why the Chinese would want to build a laser at one of the most desolate and remote spots on the planet. That article's a horrible mix of bs double-talk and inaccuracies. So let's all panic over it.
  18. So what was the working title of this show? "When You Get Down To It, We're All Just Food Eventually."
  19. This is the guy that ended up getting an insider's look - so to speak - at grizzlies, correct?
  20. That's it. I'm not watching. I may not watch another game again, as long as the league keeps deep throating New England.
  21. I don't understand why you'd offer up somewhere for which she'd need a car, when she's already said she doesn't have one. "I need to go somewhere, but I don't have a car." "Well, you could go here...but you need a car" "Gee, thanks. That was helpful."
  22. Have? Or provide? Because there is a difference. There's certain drugs I know my pharmacy doesn't stock...but they will order, if I bring in a prescription. They don't have them in stock, because they so rarely dispense them, but they will provide them. Whether or not they're required to "provide" by law is another story (and varies from state to state)...I would certainly hope so, as I don't want my pharmacist overriding my doctor's judgement if he writes me a script. But "have" is an ambiguous turn of phrase.
  23. And the part where she said "It will need to be close to downtown because I'm not renting a car" sort of clued me in that maybe I shouldn't bother mentioning anything outside the friggin' Beltway.
  24. Good thing. It's raining today. If you don't mind commercial glitz, there's an ESPNZone downtown, about five blocks from the Hilton Garden Inn. (12th and E, you'll be on 14th and H...walk south from H to E, turn left, walk two blocks). I don't know how the wings or men are...but rowdy's a good bet, and they're likely to have something good on tap. Other than that, I don't know downtown sports bars well at all.
