What is it about ILLEGAL aliens
Crap Throwing Monkey replied to The Merovingian's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm still not clear exactly what the demonstrations were about. And you want the media to report on policy? -
Great. Then you should be able to come up with a more substantial article than "Ralph Wilson's a whiny B word." Note that I'm not commenting on your other articles (which I shall look up), or your career in general, just THIS article: it sucked. I stand by that judgement. Even though you had a point, you could have supported it far better. The judgement that you're a "bozo", though...I won't apologize, I'll just put it on hold until I read some other articles. And at the very least, you get props for showing up and defending yourself reasonably.

Except that the counter to Israeli nukes isn't Islamic nukes. It's US support. Unless survival is at stake, Israel doesn't launch a nuke without tacit US approval. The Islamic states would be kept in place by what? Plus there's the simple fact that we're talking about a culture that honors suicide bombers. MAD might not be a paradigm applicable to the situation. On that, at least, we agree. -
Meanwhile, back in Tehran...

There's a lot more to using something successfully operationally than technology, though (and it's not US vs. Russian anti-ship missiles that counts, it's US anti-aircraft missiles vs. Russian anti-ship missiles.) Regardless, Iran's in a far better position to close the Gulf to ship traffic now than they were the last time they fought a battle against the US. -
Whether he's right or not, it's a sh-- article. A real sports writer would have focused on the CBA, and said "Wilson's wrong because..." This bozo just wrote a thousand words of "Wah, wah, wah...Wilson's picking on my favorite owner!"

Does anyone know what this nitwit is trying to accomplish by pointing out that I don't hang out with him? News flash, Little Hulkster: there's a reason you haven't met me. It has far more to do with your lachrymonious prepubescent wrestling angst than it does anything about me. -
My mistake. Apparently it takes three lacrosse players to equal the height of an average person...

"WHERE IS THE APPETIZER TRAY!!!!" -
Scholastic reasons. It takes three lacrosse players to equal the intelligence of an average person.

He was Muslim. They needed to know if he went near any ports. The wife was just a little perturbed over the unreality of last night's episode, knowing as much as she does about bank security. If a bank manager could open a time lock on a vault whenever he wanted, there'd be a lot more late-night kidnappings. Me, I was too busy laughing at terrroists not being shredded by rounds that can penetrate light armored vehicles. Still...it's more realistic than "E-Ring".

And you can't make that point enough...because most people can't distinguish between net worth and net earnings. It wasn't directed at you nearly as much as it was the "Bill Gates is worth $50B and only pays $75M (or whatever) in taxes on it!" As a practical matter, save property taxes, Gates doesn't pay ANY taxes on his net worth. No one does, really. -
When you manage to get into a bank at midnight and stick something in a safe deposit box, let me know.

And those terrorists are tough, too. One of them took three rounds from a .50-cal machine gun right in the chest, and didn't even have an exit wound. And by the way...how'd Evelyn put the tape in the safe deposit box "this morning" when she was attending to the First Lady all morning. Continuity this season is worse than ever...which says something, considering how bad last season's was...

Gates doesn't "make" billions a year. Gates has $56B...for the most part, only on paper, which as a practical matter he can't touch (for example: billions in MS stock which, if he sells, depreciates his worth dramatically as the stock price tanks.) Realistically, if he liquidated his net worth entirely to cash...maybe $10-20B (which is still a nice chunk of change, obviously, but that's a hell of a difference nonetheless). Annual earnings-wise...he gets a million a year as Chairman of Microsoft, and holds a billion shares of MSFT stock that paid out a $0.36 dividend last year...so that's $361 million right there. I don't know what the "magic number" is for that annual wage is...but I'm pretty sure it's less than the billion a quarter he donates to his charitable foundation. -

But at least you'll be able to drive across LA during rush hour in 10 minutes... Just once, I want to see Jack Bauer stuck in a car on the LA expressway for two full episodes. And complaining he needs to take a piss. -
And you know...I can't even figure out how the partisanship plays out in this "issue". All I know is: 1) The Administration has offered a "work for citizenship" plan 2) I like the plan 3) I don't trust them to implement it 4) Congress is full of idiots 5) I, a law-abiding tax paying citizen, had a 14-over speeding ticket upped to a reckless driving conviction due to a court error, while the uninsured drunk illegal alien who wrecked my brand new car and fled the scene two days later got off scott free because the cops "didn't want to get him deported". That's seriously !@#$ed up. And yes, I got the reckless driving conviction overturned on appeal. But it's still bull sh--.

8000 wrestling tapes is a hobby? And because of that, I have to prove myself to you? Reality's a good thing, you should try living in it. -
Not to mention that the "women's rights" groups that recommend such things are basically advocating a woman's right to be a victim...which is why I put "women's rights" in quotes. False accusations - particularly intentionally false ones - only serve to make it harder to get convictions on real accusations, and should be fought strongly against by any organization that truly advocates women's rights. Fortunately, most do. Unfortunately, the ones that advocate victimization tend to be the more vocal.

They shot that down. Then everyone went home. Because when you shoot down a terrorist missile with a hijacked US nuclear warhead, you don't bother to collect the pieces. Because...you know...evidence, shmevidence. Who needs it? And high-grade nuclear material used in warheads probably isn't a health or national security threat anyway, it's safe to leave it laying in the street. -
No. Because when it comes to rape, there's no such thing as filing a false police report; even a report of a rape that didn't happen serves the purpose of highlighting the problem of rape. Therefore, true or not, rape should be reported as often as possible, whether true or not. You think I'm being facetious. And I am. But there's "women's rights" groups that have been known to advocate just that.
