Postponing until later in the year simply does not work. Do that now and you have to do it again later when another team gets positive cases. What if that's in Week 15? Just not possible then. The league put a lot of new tweaks, such as the expanded practice squad, so this is something teams can play through.

Fitzpatrick says his favorite NFL city is ... Buffalo

Maybe I am making a glaring omission, but Fitz (even while on the stinkin' fish) is my favorite former Bill who is still active. -
Players are not permitted to interact with those family members. This was talked about quite a but when Tre White was explaining the sacrifices he'd have to make while he was considering opting out. They aren't flying SouthWest. It is a privately chartered flight. All flight personnel are tested before coming into contact with the team. The league has to treat every team the same for the entire season. Make that kind of move now isn't too hard. But what happens if this occurs again for a different team after the bye weeks are over?

I do not think the league should or would start altering schedules now for one or two teams. Yeah, there are some easy ways now to rework the schedule, but what happens later int the year if there is a positive but no easy way out. Consistency is they way this handle this will be key to keep it fair to all. Tell the Titans they have to play. If they cannot field a roster of players who test negative, they should forfeit. Maybe one irresponsible person should not be able to take down the entire league.

Lamar Jackson's big tests this season will come against the Steelers. Can a division team solve him? If so, he's moving back into the pack. If Pitt cannot, the Raven's only division rival, then Jackson is going to stay in the limelight.

MNF: Chiefs at Ravens, 8:20 on ESPN

KC is the legit top team in football. For now. They made Lamar Jackson look average. They really did as they pleased with the Ravens' defense. In Baltimore. At the same time, I think Pat is playing in a way that is not sustainable. He is going to get himself hurt. When that happens, their season shatters.. Note that I am not rooting for an injury. I don't do that. Karma is a B word. -
Raiders Nation is less than confident. And they seem to feel about their QB the exact opposite as how we feel about ours. No let-down game!

I hope we can all agree Josh Allen is a much better rusher than Cam Newton, especially at this point in Cam's career. That said, Cam slashed through the stinkin' fish yesterday, never touched until he was into the second level. Fitz yesterday did not look like the guy he's been at the start of the past several seasons. Now it appears he'll be missing his top WR Sunday. Miami had zero pass rush yesterday. With the WRs Allen has to chose from, he should be able to pick apart that secondary. I am looking for a lopsided, high-scoring win for Buffalo. Squish the fish.

Sal is coming up now (from 10 to noon). MUCH better. <hoping he doesn't make me regret this endorsement>

I especially liked the cheers quickly piped in when the Bills did something well. It will take a few home games for each team's staff to get it really right. The team should have the option to play boos if the refs mess up in the visiting team's favor or a visiting player acts like a jerk. Hoping that is a lasting casualty of COVID-19.

They are in Wegmans now. Just picked up a few for a fired up game-day breakfast. By the way, most guys I've ever seen in a grocery store at 7 this morning. All wearing red, white & blue.

TBDAHOT XXI - Social Distancing edition

The smoker has been going since 3:30 this morning. Pork shoulder and dry rub wings will be ready at noonish. A fresh keg of Molson just tapped. The four AFC championships flag is flying. Streaming the game in the living room, my basement Bills bar and on the back deck. Just a tight group of die-hard fanatics who are grateful the game can be played. We would be in the parking lot by now, though, in any year but 2020. GO BILLS! -
Why are the Bills sticking with such a poor punter?

Looking forward to Desir v. Diggs. I'm expecting to see a lot of Cover 2 zone from the Jets Sunday, which is where Desir has thrived. Desir is sometimes too aggressive trying to jump routes, and he's too passive in run defense. He's never set the league on fire, for sure, but he's had good battles with some top-tier WRs when in zone. In man, he is not good. Desir had a rough 2019, causing the Colts to take a salary cap hit to cut him. It'll be an interesting match-up on which to key. Edit: One more note, Desir is no island defender. Allen should be looking to exploit that Desir will constantly requite safety support.
