  1. I agree with Coach Tuesday, it seems likely to the original poster here may have confused Young with Vick. My sister is an avid animal rights activists, and I would have understood if she turned her back on the Bills if they had signed Vick. But I just don't see anything like that with Young.
  2. Why post something like that and then quickly log off? Don't start a thread based solely on your opinion unless you have enough time to stick around and discuss it. Pretty standard message board etiquette.
  3. I hear what you are saying, Nick. But I cannot believe the Bills would bring Young onto the roster unless they were sure he was in a realistic state of mind. That said, listen to just about any NFL player, especially a QB, when asked about their own abilities. Just about all of them have convinced themselves that they are the very best. I think that mindset is needed in order to make it in the NFL. So I would expect Young to come in with the goal to earning the starting spot, but again, the Bills have to be sure Young won't implode when he fails to beat out Fitz.
  4. But, he was just cut by a team we pounded last season.
  5. Exactly what I was thinking... It is not like the Bills would be bringing Young in to build a team around him.
  6. I think they will leave that one spot open just in case someone become available.
  7. I would like to point out one important fact: A healthy Bills team beat the Pats* last season . The team we beat went on to win the conference. The Bills team that won that first match-up finished the season largely on Injured Reserve. The Bills added a lot of quality depth this off-season. The gap was in depth, and that's where the Bills are improving.
  8. We are still short on depth at TE and QB.
  9. I am certainly not talking about bounties or dirty hits. Stop reading what's not there. I am simply pointing out that Gilmore is yet another big-time hitter who has the potential to be putting the pads to opposing QBs, which is part of the game.
  10. It is very cruel and sucky. But damn, that is pretty funny. Gotta wonder what he did to inspire someone to do something so low.
  11. I disagree that Daniel was "way better" than Wilson. And backing up the best QB in the game is not a bad sign. Oh, by the way, Brees is not much taller than Wilson. Further, Wilson does a better job of dealing with his height with an exceptional, high release. I am very much in favor of drafting Wilson in the 3rd.
  12. Why bother with McCoy? We may have drafted our QB of the future last night. As a senior (in high school) Gilmore led his team as the QB, going 15-0, capturing the state title and ranking third in the Maxpreps.com final national poll. With Gilmore at the helm, he completed 112-of-187 passes (59.9%) for 1,771 yards and 14 touchdowns. He rushed 145 times for 1,262 yards (8.7 ypc) and 23 scores, piling up 138 points for the offense. On the other side of the ball, he recorded 13 tackles with two interceptions and a fumble recovery, in addition to handling punt returns. That 2008 performance earned Gilmore first-team All-State honors from The State and he was named to the prestigious Parade All-American team, in addition to earning national honors from EA Sports. Named "Mr. Football" for the state of South Carolina, he played quarterback in the 72nd Shrine Bowl Game of the Carolinas, earning Offensive MVP honors.
  13. I think that is an important piece. Our dline is fierce, forcing opposing offenses to game plan ways to keep Mario, Dareus, et al from getting clean, brutal shots in. But can they do that and still adequately account for corner blitzes? I do not think so. If I had to bet which Bill is most likely to send Brady to the locker room, it would now be Gilmore.
  14. No thanks. Instead, draft Mr. Russell Wilson in the 3rd or 4th.
  15. If you want to "love" it, think about the big picture. What have we hung our hopes on? Our new stellar pass rush. What is the biggest risk of an aggressive pass rush? The opposing offense will be able to burn our corners on now passes. How do you protect from that? Big, physical corners who can jam and are sure tacklers. Without the Gilmore pick, we may have been wasting all that money spent on DEs in free agency. I loved our FA signings so I have to love this pick.
  16. Really, I think we have a VERY solid defensive foundation now. We could use some help in our linebacker corps, and that's it. "It is a passing league now," is all anyone is saying these days, and our defense is built to stop just that. Glad our division opponents really don't run well. I trust Gailey will get our offense where it needs to be in order to get enough points in to be in every game.
  17. Welcome and thanks for coming aboard. So, do we have new Bills fans tonight?
  18. If Decasto was really a Pat* right now, I'd be a lot more concerned. But he isn't. Bellychick is still ignoring his biggest needs -- oline and secondary. Obviously, he knows what he is doing, but I would rather these picks than seeing NE countering our dline.
  19. It is a solid but not sexy pick. The D just got better as a unit. Who could ask for more than that?
  20. That is presuming there is a willing trade partner. The new collective bargaining agreement makes that #11 a whole lot more attractive.
  21. Maybe our first for Bowe and KC's second or third.
  22. http://bit.ly/It3p1X By the way, I am very much a Flutie fan and very much in favor of drafting Wilson.
  23. It is ALL gamesmanship. There are 32 poker-playing fools today, all bluffing, misleading and strategizing. I love it.
  24. I will find out, but know that at Thanksgiving time Wilson was leading the nation in yards per attempt (11.1) and yards per completion (15.1) as well as yards of total offense per play (9.9.). He finished the 2011 season with 10.28 YPA, which was good for third in NCAA. His offense finished 2011 with 6.7 yards per play, good for sixth in the nation.
  25. I believe this thread was asking who we thing the Bills WILL pick not who we WANT the Bills to pick. I would pass on Barron, but the team has showed a lot of interested, reportedly.
