Andrew Luck today on starting to prepare for the Bills:
“It starts this week. You start preparing and looking at film. It’s going to be tough. That’s a good defense. Coach (Rex) Ryan is a heck of a coach and they are always going to bring some funky stuff.”
The math is simple. There will be mismatches in our offense's favor on every play that is properly executed. The Colts need to pick their poison and do what they can to keep the Bills from properly executing.
If I read correctly, AP's John Wawrow said Rodak's report was wrong and that McKelvin was actually still in the walking boot today. Adding later it was possible it came off at some point.
And not just against any defense. Tyrod was running against Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, Bernard Pollard, Elvis Dumervil, Cary Williams, Paul Kruger, etc.
Cutting him saves more than $4 million on this year's cap. That is significant as the team tries to sure up the future of the roster. But there is no doubt the Pats* would bring him in real quick for a thorough debriefing. If they're going to cut him, do it ASAP. Or maybe give him some fake playbook updates first.
Loved reading through this thread. Bumping this isn't meant to poke at anyone. Hindsight is always 20/20. It's interesting to see how opinions evolve through the process.
Absolutely terrible. Shady's been banged up, or so we're told, and now we have no legit backup?! Insane. They sure as hell better not use a roster spot on Cassel now.
I recall that back after the draft in which the Ravens picked him, Ozzie Newsome spoke on a local Baltimore show about how they felt they got a real steal. He spoke a little about what struck the morning of his Pro Day, but he said Taylor faced a long list of terrible misfortunes throughout the process, causing him to fall all the way well past his real value all the down to them in the 6th.
I don't understand picking the stinkin' fish or the NJ Giants over our Bills. The other two games could be very tough. The Miami game is more important than the Colts. I believe the Bills can win all four.
If Hogan is going to lose his roster spot to one of the new WRs, it may be smart to stash Hogan on the Injured Reserve with Return Designation list. They could then keep him under contract in case they need him for depth reasons later in the season. If they end up needing the spot for someone else, they could come up with a settlement with Hogan.
I listened to this entire piece last night on the WGR app. A lot if interesting info. His last game with the Bills was the Music City Disaster. He said the locker room was dead quiet, demoralized, when Wade announced Rob Johnson was getting the start over Flutie. Though he acknowledged Johnson left the field with the lead, he said Flutie should have started that game, that he earned it and all the players knew it. He went on to compare the two QBs of then to the QBs of now. A traditional pass from USC and a mobile guy who makes magical things happen. He inferred Taylor should be the starter but that the team really should hold onto EJ. He spoke about a friend with the current team who he didn't name who told him way back in OTAs that Taylor as "it" and EJ still needs to develop but can be very good. Northern said the great positional coaches and Rex deserve a lot of credit for the development we're seeing in EJ, Taylor and the WRs.
