  3. Ravens: Ray Lewis has fractured wrist

    News

Linebacker Ray Lewis told the Baltimore Sun he fractured his wrist in Sunday night's loss to the Colts, but Ravens coach Brian Billick indicated Lewis will wear either a cast or splint to protect his wrist and be on the field Sunday in Pittsburgh. "There's little doubt that he will play on Sunday," Billick said.

Lewis suffered the injury, originally diagnosed as a sprained wrist, in the first quarter and missed the rest of the series, but later returned to the game. You can bet he'll be available for this week's key game in Pittsburgh, as the Ravens' postseason hopes are hanging by a thread.

  4. Missed it - can someone give me the x's and o's of the formation and play run from it?

It was a defensive formation. The Pats lined up without anyone down on the line. Everyone was ina linebackers' stance. Feely couldn't tell who was coming and who was covering. The Bills just did it well and confused the hell out of Kitna.

  5. How funny was it when Madden went on and on last night about the no-down-linemen formation the Pats used in the LOSING effort? Madden said about five times and eventually got Al Michael to agree that it was the "first time in NFL history" that the formation had been used.

I guess he didn't see the Bills do it against the Bengals Sunday. I guess he didn't see the Pats/Bills two years ago or all the coverage that followed.

The reason I think Madden should get some crap for this is because he acts and is treated like he is the foremost expert on football.

  6. yes, i know it is sacrilege to say anything negative about Willis, but if Drew took a 4 yard sack on every first down, OMG, the misery.

Yes, but Willis does not lose four yeards every first down. In fact, in case you haven't noticed, he has finished with very good numbers (over 100 yards) in all but two starts. Comparing a QB getting sacked and a running back getting hit for a loss just doesn't work in this case.

  7. CVA, I really wish I could have been there. Maybe next time? We had eight Bills fans at the Hard Time Cafe and Cue in Fredericksburg, Va. By far the best turnout of the year. One was a lurker here. I wonder how many road the bandwagon over Sunday. Hey, I'll even take bandwagon fans at this point. Eight may not sound like much, but we ruled the bar Sunday. Again, CVA, sorry I couldn't make it. Glad to hear things worked out well.

  8. Why, he was taking a "sack" on first down consistently.  I have noticed that willis takes more awkward tackles than any running back i can remember.

Why? Because he makes things happen. Yes, he is hit and taken down behind the line often this season, but Barry Sanders was hit for losses often as well. Willis is going to be great IMO. He just needs to learn to turn it up a little quicker when there is nothing there. I think anyone would be hard pressed to argue that Willis is anything but a huge part of the team's bounce back.

  9. I really hope they drop "Fast" Freddie as soon as possible. That guy seems to make a bone-headed play in every game.

The kid is just that -- a kid. He's a rookie.

He'll be a good special teamer for a while. I am sure they'll keep him. I love having both him and Nate back for punt returns.

How fast you forget this big return a few weeks back.

  10. Teams make sitakes and in effect give games away when the other team (Buffalo) is hitting harder, moving faster and more pumped up. The Bills are winning because they are laying guys out.

More importantly, the Bills D is getting turnovers because opponents have been put in situations that require the opponents to take chances. Last season many of us were complaining that the D wasn't taking the ball away enough. That was because the O and ST weren't scoring points, so (like in last night's Colts/Ravens game) the opponents were able to hang around and pull the one or two big play(s) every team is liable to give up each game.

  11. Quick question, if there is a more than a two way tie, IE Jets, Buffalo and Denver all 10-6, what is the first tie breaker, assuming one team has not beaten both of the others. I only ask this as I wonder if there is a scenario where we will need need other teams to actually win to create three or even four way ties. If someone has figured this out, I would be eternally grateful

Conference records I do believe -- Denver has a us beat on that one.
