  1. Carroll is a tool, but not that big of a tool.
  2. Props to Willis.
  3. Check this post....
  4. Ooh. That is not good. Anyone know what the NFL did last time Christmas and New Year's was on a Sunday. That would really F up college ball, too.
  5. I don't think he'll last to our third round pick.
  6. I too would be happy with Nugent, Britt or Brooks. All three could help out fast and in places we really could use it.
  7. Check out this story on Nugent. This guy -- a freakin' kicker -- was selected by his fellow players as team MVP! He nailed a 55-yarder as time ran out to beat Marshall this year. He followed that with a school record five field goals at North Carolina State the next week. Out of Nugent's 55 kickoffs in 2004, 34 were in touchbacks.
  8. Alabama's left tackle Wesley Britt's is going to be the o-line steal of the draft, and he had a serious leg injury in his history -- TD just might take him! He is 6-7 1/2 and right around 300 pounds, and he's should pack on some solid pounds this offseason. He came back from a broken leg in the ninth game of 2003. One titanium rod and a whole lot of rehab later ... TD should love him. Blocking grades are determined by the percentage of total snaps that the lineman executed his assignment correctly. During Britt's sophomore season, his second as a starter, he finished with 196 knockdown blocks and graded out at 96 percent or better in 12 of the 13 games. Against Ole Miss and LSU that season, Britt graded out at 100 percent and 99 percent against Oklahoma and Auburn. This year's Outland Troph winner, right tackle Jamal Brown, registered 130 knockdown blocks this season. Right tackles are generally much stronger and larger, meaning that they will register more knockdown blocks in a season. Britt, playing the more finesse-style left tackle, registered 66 more knockdown blocks two years ago than the best right tackle in college football registered this season. Britt's blocking grades were equally as impressive. A 100 percent grade is a rare feat to accomplish, but more amazing is the 99 percent grade against Oklahoma and Auburn, two of the best defenses in the country. Of course this was all before the break; however, the stats show that Britt may have lost some of his dominance after the injury. Entering the Tide's bowl game this year, he had registered 63 knockdown blocks in 11 games and graded out 92 percent or better in six of those games. Now those numbers are still impressive for a left tackle, but there seems to me to be so much potential here. So was Britt's leg not completely healed and thus factor into his slip in dominance? "My leg was perfect," Britt said in The Sporting News. "There was nothing wrong with that. It was more of the foot injury I sustained during the Mississippi State game." Hmm. I can see TD picking him up in the third. It would be a very logical risk.
  9. Brooks is solid. I like him in the 2nd a lot. http://www.news-daily.com/articles/2004/12...rts/sports1.txt
  10. Washington has been in the high 60s for the past week or so, but it is a cool, rainy 50 today. I love snow, but I'm pretty happy with walking my dog at night without a coat in January.
  11. Agreed about running cities. The dirt: What, a little one-sided water balloon fight?
  12. Please let us know what he has to say...
  13. Sure, but I'd rather he came and took over for Johnson in Rochester. Rochester needs a change sooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad.
  14. Well I wasn't talking about President Kelly. I think he could win a seat in Congress -- either state or federal.
  15. Wow man. Way to call him out.
  16. Lee Evans has all the tools to become one of the top receivers in the league. I really like the comparisons to Marvin Harrison.
  17. The only way TD could move us into the 1st is to package a second or third with other later picks and/orr Henry. Don't see us with any needs big enough to do so. This draft should be about building solid depth on o-line and secondary. This draft won't be full of rookie-year starters anyway. To echo others here, all bets are off if a big name drops too far for TD to ignore.
  18. Offensive Line: Agree that free agency is the way to go to get a couple new starters for next season, but I think the primary target in the upcoming draft has to be O-linemen. Depth here is going to be key next season -- the entire season likely hinges on it. Cornerback: Agreed that this position will be addressed in the draft, but I think TD and company feel very good about McGee coming into his own at corner. I think an upgrade in depth here is also vital to winning next season. Linebacker: I think a free agent will be brought in here to take Posey's spot. I think Posey will play much more from a three-point stance. hte defense is anything but broken, and I think this will be the only real change in the defensive starting lineup. Kicker: Sorry everyone, but Lindell will be back. He had good overall season, and TD will not can him for one (yes, very big) missed FG. TD doesn't believe in paying big bucks for kickers. Defensive End: I don't see any new DEs in training camp except maybe an unsigned free agent or two. Running Back Travis is indeed gone, and a quality backup running back is needed. This has to be addressed in free agency. Maybe bring back O. Gary?
  19. Anyone ready to predict he's finally going to run for an elected office? I think it is only a matter of time.
  20. Seems to me we have the right games at home this year. Woud rather play in Buffalo than Oakland or Cinci, but overall I like this setup. No one wants to go into Arrowhead or Denver, and the Bills could use the 12th Man playing the Texans, Falcons and Panthers. I foresee eight home sellouts next year! I notice that just about every team on next year's schedule was in the playoff hunt Week 17. I look forward to avenging the Oakland loss next year. Since McGahee loves the warm weather, I'd say he's going to have some big games in Tampa, Miami and San Diego. And if Losman is playing next year, he'll have a homecoming in New Orleans.
  21. Pat Williams is the obvious choice. Ron Edwards should not even be compared to PW. Look at any game this past season. Any time either Pat or Sam Adams were out, the other team coud suddenly run. It was sad but clearly showed Pat Williams in way more important to success next year.
  22. Bates is good, but he'll need to blitz more than he is use to with our personnel set.
  23. No matter what 2004 starters are around next year, we need much better DEPTH in the offensive line. That may have been the single biggest problem for the team in 2004. The subs came in and straight out stunk.
  24. So the bottomline of your analysis is that we need to dump Drew and London, and draft a new left guard? I think it is a bit more complicated than that. Agreed that Drew must go, but I think the o-line needs a serious upgrade at LT, LG and even C. Posey needs to be demoted and a better run stuffing end needs to be brought in. Oh yeah, and we need much better depth for the OL and the defensive backfield.
