  1. O'Leary did, but this is a "what have you done for me lately" world. I like O'Leary a lot, but he got replaced today by bigger faster guys who had a better camp.
  2. So people actually thought they'd just cut a starter right out of the gate? He's not going anywhere until they get someone on the roster who the coaches think is better.
  3. Jim Miller is thrilled.
  4. It always made best sense for the Raiders to trade with a non-AFC team. Get him as far from your QB as possible.
  5. 1. I think he'd get some snaps if they pulled off this trade a week ago. 2. Damn.
  6. Glad it happened AFTER we played them. Mack would have killed McCarron. Killed him.
  7. Bills seemingly doing a really nice job keeping their moves to themselves. Seeing reports from all over the league about cuts, yesterday but not one word leaked out of of One Bills Drive. Beane said all the decisions would have been made yesterday and notifications started then. I know some of the reporters (Fairburn, especially) are complaining about the team's unwillingness to share info, but I love the competitive advantage this will provide even if just a little just from time to time.
  8. Unfortunately, he's a starter. Unless they are able to bring in a starter via trade or off the waivers wire, he's all ours.
  9. Being classy and respectful with these players had long-term benefits. Some of those cut will be wanted back later. All of them will talk to other players around the league. Reputations like that matter.
  10. So you think they'd just cut him, throwing away $7 million for the sake of one roster spot?
  11. Only trade McC if we can get something worthwhile (a 4th rounder) and can save enough to pay for another backup when our starter goes down. Even a one week injury would require bringing someone in. If we trade McC, we'd likely bring a QB in from another team right away for the practice squad.
  12. I get it, we are throwing darts in the dark here. Well, maybe just poor lighting. But I think the majority to the names tossed around in this thread are set to make the big cutdown. Of course, it is quite likely one, two or maybe three get cut to make room for a specific FA signing after the other teams make their cuts. I'd say the top candidate for that is Newhouse. But Ivory, AJ, Vonte, Kerley, DiMarco and Zay will not be unemployed Sept. 9.
  13. There are two sources cited, but neither source actually backs up the claim. Damn, it'd be fun to use Hanson against him.
  14. There was a lot of commentary about this in the two game threads last night. It was comical at first, but it didn't take too long to become nauseating. Some tidbits I learned in the 1st half from the Bears' broadcast: - Chicago is the greatest city on Earth. - Zay Jones "can fly" - The Bears will have a top-5 D this season - The Bears will split their series with the Packers this year - Trubisky is a superstar (Soon to surpass Aaron Rodgers) - AJ McCaron is likely our starter Week One (this was before any hint of a comeback )
  15. The process: We threw the first half to test who would give up and who would fight back. (kidding)
  16. Anxiously awaiting the 2nd half thread.
  17. No Chase, but plenty of blowout.
  18. Yes, Bears' announcers, your team will surely do as well against the Packers as you are against pure scrubs tonight.
  19. It has been clear for a while that we can only afford to carry two QBs on the 53, so this sealed it. Now to find something, anything.
