I think homefield advantage for the Bills is back
scribo replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you mean there are people saying that you should sitdown and be quiet because it is their right to watch the game while sitting? If so, who really gives an F? I doubt security would do anything because fans are cheering loudly. Scream out your lungs, pound the seats and make as much noise as possible. -
Some very interesting posts on this board right now. Here are some:
-
I assume he didn't suit up, is that correct? I only ask because as ESPN ran its injury reports over and over again on the crawl at the bottom of the screen in the morning, it kept showing Roscoe as QUESTIONABLE. I'm think someone who is listed as questionable in Week One should be ready to play well before Week Four.

I too am very thankful that we have Sam Wyche schooling our QB. But isn't it funny? Think back to 1988. To Boomer and the Icky Shuffle. To that huddle at the sidelines. To the Jungle. I never would have thought back then that someday Sam Wyche would be a Bills fan favorite.

Thanks for stopping by Gullfer1, and thanks for the good attitude. You'll probably get a little smack here, but most of the Bills fans on this board realize that he who opens his mouth the widest.... Would you be so kind as to give us a little insight on what we might expect to see out of your Bucs this Sunday? What are their strenths and weaknesses? As you may know, our offense has been built around Willis McGahee, but I see your boys held the Vikes to just 26 yards on the ground yesterday. What do you attribute that impressive stat to? From the Bills you'll likely see a defense that is moving a million miles an hour, blitizing all the time. On offense, you'll see a lot of McGahee up the middle and around the ends, a lot of rollouts by J.P. Losman and probably a trick play or two.

I'll join in...congrats, Drew. But am I glad you're a Cowbay and not a Bills anymore. Further, thanks for beating the Chargers. I enjoy any time an NFC teams beats an AFC team expected to be in the playoff hunt, unless, of course, it is the Bills

That will really hurt the Panthers, but I cannot say I was looking forward to watching him chase JP around Thanksgiving weekend.

This, as well as how horrid Farve looked horrid in that game, can only point to bad things in cheese country. Any one else think Farve goes down with a minor injury by midseason and never again plays? I hope that isn't the way he goes out, but I think things are headed that way already.

National media not noticing the Bills yet
scribo replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm more than fine with the apparent snub by the national media. I feel it is fair to use the term "snub." The Bills really thumped a team many sports writers said should be contending for a playoff spot and maybe their division title. The fact that J.P. is the first QB in several years to win his first start is newsworthy IMHO. But nothing really on Sportscenter or NFL Primetime last night. The Bills got the 20-second rundown treatment on both shows, while less impressive wins got a full minute. This is so obviously because of the small market that is Buffalo. But ESPN and company better realize that there are Bills fans everywhere. This is where the Bills' push to register Bills Backers across the country is important. Yesterday, we had nearly 20 Bills fans come together for the first time in Fredericksburg, VA. The sportsbar's owner e-mailed me today and said he didn't know there were so many Bills fans outside WNY, let alone in this one area. Of course, 20 isn't much, and we hope to grow, but getting together is a step toward letting the rest of the NFL know the Bills are a beloved team that deserves some attention. -
The Bucs held the Vikes to 26 yards on the ground yesterday. I don't care who Minni's RBs are, that is an impressive stat. Willis and company will have their work cut out for them.

As was already stated, the Bills didn't have any timeouts left, so MM couldn't challege. I think that it would have been overturned had it been reviewed. All that said, it seemed like the team burned through those timeouts. This is a very good example of why it is important to only use TOs when 100 percent needed.

How many yards will Willis get this week?
scribo replied to inkman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, who the hell said under 50? -
Jim Nance predicts Texans will beat the Bills

My bad. Thanks for the correction. -
Jim Nance predicts Texans will beat the Bills

By the way, Nance played for Syracuse in college. He was a Pat (and later a Jet) in the NFL. And his listed hometown is Indiana, PA. -
Jim Nance predicts Texans will beat the Bills

As a reporter myself, I'd like to think Peter King wouldn't make such a comment unless he heard it from at least two players seperately. And I'm not talking about some second-string defensive guys who really have no idea what is happening with J.P. That said, there is no way to tell how King came up with such an opinion. All I KNOW is that several of the players and coaches have said some nice things about J.P. And J.P. seems to say the right things in the press. I find it all hard to believe because I think there are enough leaders on this team who would gladly put J.P. in his place if they felt he needed it. -
What beer will you drink during the game?
scribo replied to SF Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watch the games at a local sports bar with fellow Bills Backers, so for price reasons I typically drink Miller Lite. But for a special game like the opener, I'm popping Sam Adams all day. -
First, I don't think anyone, even J.P. himself, sees the next Young or Farve coming out this year. As for the comment on the long ball, I believe MM intentionally kept J.P. from throwing the long ball in the preseason just so one or two people like you would think exactly what you said here. Unfortunately, NFL coaches are smarter than that. I am very confident that J.P. will be able to put the ball down field and on target when he needs to. If that was a weakness for him, I would think MM and Wyche would want J.P. to have worked on it in the preseason.
-
Defense! Defense! Defense! Defense! Defense! But....I'll bet the Bills take the ball. MM has to show confidence in J.P.

I like #5 better.

It would be funny as hell to see Moulds just steam role him as Willis jogs by for a TD.
-
I've heard it called a bomber in Rochester plenty of times. Specifically, a Steak Bomber at Rubinos.
-
Here's to hoping Eric and Lee hear his comments.
-
Or Mike Williams -- does he use a limo service now?

I think this article is very accuarte. Link to an AP article on ESPN's Web site

I agree that TD is just trying to take any amount of pressure he can off Losman. But, the season will not be a success in my eyes if the Bills miss the playoffs again.
