  1. You were right, Cincy. ESPN News
  2. Falcons backup quarterback Matt Schaub (QB) Atl was arrested (last November I believe) in connection with the attack of a man, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. I'm working on a link.
  3. Schaub is great? His QB rating over the past two years: 41.4 1 TD/ 4 INT Completion %: 46.5 NFL.com player page I think I'd like our chances better with Schaub back there.
  4. Thus the "as of this moment" comment I included.
  5. True ... as will either the NJ Giants or the San Antonio Saints.
  6. Yes, but IND, PIT, KC and CIN are each 2-0. Incidentally, the Bucs are the only NFC team as of this moment who are 2-0.
  7. Special teams weren't bad at all. Yes, Tampa's punter had an freakin' outstanding game, but that wasn't really the Bills special teams' fault. Lindell was there when we needed him. McGee had several nice returns. If there was one bright spot, it was the special teams. By the way, regarding McGahee's play, I think he was just trying too hard to make something big happen. In all fairness, the Bills needed a big play from someone yesterday. If he was able to break just one of those run for a long TD, the Wall may have looked much different today. Also, don't forget that McGahee is not yet an "experienced veteran." He is in the very begninning of his first full year as the starter. He still has a lot to learn.
  8. Agreed, but, wow, is that guy standing next to her one sun-damaged dude? You know, he is 19.
  9. Everyone and their brother knew this game was going to come down to which defense wore down first. It was Buffalo's D that wore down first plain and simple. It was the Bucs D that made the big plays to give some energy to their offense. It was clear from the get-go that the game was in the defenses' hands, so, yes, I put the loss on them.
  10. I agree, but....at the same time, I'll take an early season win anyway possible.
  11. Would you disagree that "their job" (as a part of THIS Buffalo team) includes forcing at least one turnover per game and creating momentum for the offense to build on?
  12. I agree that we will likely see a much better effort this week. But I strongly disagree with the claim that the D should be free of blame. In fact, I believe the D failed the team in every way. Yes, they were left on the field for a long time on a very hot day. But this Buffalo team is suppose to be built around the defense. That means the D is responsible for more than just a decent first half. The D needs to play well all four quarters. But more importantly, the D is suppose to get a turnover or two. The D is suppose to have big plays to give the Bills offense some momentum to work with. Those things didn't happen. I remember maybe two fairly big plays. But, more importantly, I remember the D crumbling in the run defense, allowing the Bucs to keep the momentum for three quarters of the game. The D failed in its responsibilities. Maybe too much is being put oin the D's shoulders, but it seemed last week that the Takeo, London, Lawyer, Troy and company were willing to take on those responsibilities.
  13. The thing that JP has most impressed me with so far is his ability to sense and avoid pressure. I think that with Drew or RJ, we would have had at least three more sacks yesterday and likely two fumbles. I strongly believe that is not a coachable skill.
  14. MM ans his staff had a miserable trip to Tampa Bay, but I think he is more than safe this year and next.
  15. TKO is my favorite player right now, but I had a bad feeeling when he and the rest of the defense started loudly patting themselves on their collective back. Then I really got worried when I saw Six Days to Sunday. This reminded quite a bit of two years ago when the Bills got off to that great start. I remember the whole opening sequence that a year for the Bills/Pats Sunday night game being on how great the Bills D was. It focused on the Bills LBs and how intense they were. But when the game started, they were taken apart piece by piece. I really hope the D just SILENTLY regains form and pounds the hell out of every opponent for the rest of the year.
  16. I think the Bills have an honest shot at beating the Jets twice, the Fish twice, the Chargers, the Broncos and the Raiders. I think they have a decent shot at taking out the Falcons, K.C. and the Pats (in Buffalo only). I have no opinion yet on the Saints game. I don't think the Bills can beat the Panthers, the Bengals in Cincinnati nor the Pats in Foxboro. But, really, I don't think we've seen nearly enough of any team to really make educated judgments yet.
  17. When MM pulled J.P. I thought it was a terrible move. But when I realized it was for only one series, I was fine with it. Give him a series to watch and think. It seemed to work well. My biggest problem with the coaching is that they seemed to come in with a flawed game plan and never were able to make the needed adjustments. As has been pointed out many times here today, the Bills played right into the Bucs' strengths the entire game. There is no doubt in my mind that MM and his staff were out-coached yesterday.
  18. It seemed to me, and I have watched a bit of the game again, that JP was not picking up on the fact that the Bucs were often giving Moulds a 10-yard cushion. I belive JP missed several great opportunities at hitting Moulds on quick outs that would have got the chains moving. It seemed all JP was looking for was 10-15-yard throws along the sidelines. I suppose that could be something the coaches had directed JP to do, as those are tough passes to pick off. But it just wasn't working.
  19. QB pressure -- if the Bills can put consitant pressure on Griese, then he will make mistakes. He will turn over the ball, and the Bills will win. If the bucs can effectively use the rungame to keep pressure off Griese, then it will be a tough one. I feel comfortable though that out D can do it.
  20. I always appreciate key programing notes like this. Thanks!
  21. QB sneak up the middle, 17 yards.
  22. I think this Bucs' fan already has the correct opinion.
  23. jduds, welcome to the baord. I agree that the NFL really needs to offer another option, especailly for those of us who cannot get DirectTV because of various reasons. The problem is that DiretTV is making a killing with the exclusive rightst to NFL Ticket and will likely pay whatever it takes to keep those rights. In the meantime, I started a Bills Backers group in my area and now watch the game each week (with sound) on a large flat screen with 20 other Bills fans. Good times!
  24. I think Jim Ritcher said he use to throw before every game, too. I recall him saying it wasn't that abnormal in the NFL.
