  1. You're correct that our line is no better than last year. But, please don't forget that WM rushed for more than grand last year. I don't see any reason to bench Teague, and I don't know who you would suggest we plug in there in his place. All MM is saying is that the team could have really used more two- and three-yard gains last week from WM vice the no-gains and one-yard losses he provded with his backfield dancing. In WM’s defense, I thought he was just trying to break something big, which, if he had been successful just once, could have changed the whole game for the better.
  2. I hope this little bit from that link turns out to be prophetic: Thurman also use to really thrive when he had something to prove. Sunday may be a good character test for our young "superstar" running back.
  3. The $10-grand fine last year was against the Deadskins, and they were just wearing the wrong socks -- not the wrong jersey, pants, helmet, socks and shoes. I would think a fine for all that would be much higher. Worse, it would send a message that the Bills think they are above the rules.
  4. If he is, I don't want to hear about it until Sunday.
  5. Damn it. I knew something huge was up. Fire TD! We're doooooooomed.
  6. Hey Ramius, that was good. You got each point 100 percent correct.
  7. You hit it right on the head.
  8. Ah, yes, good thing TC, SW and MM did that or we may have had a real disaster.
  9. I just got back from a long business lunch and I see no one has posted in a while. Is the rest of the world OK?
  10. What did you think of the Saints? What kind of shot to the Bills have on Oct. 2?
  11. My least favorite martian is hurt -- once again. I know he always plays through his injuries, but, at his age, something has to give sooner than later. Martin strains knee, status uncertain Herman Edwards is quoted sounding a lot like Derrick Blaylock is going to carry the load this week against the Jags. The Jests also have: -Both FBs, Jerald Sowell and B.J. Askew, have sprained right ankles -starting safety Erik Coleman had surgery Monday on his right thumb, which was fractured and dislocated against the Stinkin' Fish
  12. The Houston game had J.P. pump faking to the left immediately after the snap then roll to the right and handoff to McGahee. The next play he'd pop up from the snap and actually throw it. It kept the Texans forzen in place all day. Play-action does not have to be the protype: QB turns, fakes handoff, throws. Watch Sunday and I hope we'll see what I'm talking about.
  13. The Bills had ZERO timeouts left at that time. So, no, MM could not challenge it. I am sure of it. But, you're right, VA, why did the team squander all its timeouts that early?
  14. At least Coach Mularkey figured it out. Here's a quote from "Ask the Coach": Against the Texans I thought J.P. made some very good pump fakes, fake handoffs, etc. But I recall seeing one, maybe two pump fakes in Tampa Bay. Now, of course, you need a little time from the o-line to make the normal play-action work, but there are ways to vary it up to make it work even with a soid passrush. I feel play-action can be a strength for J.P., so I am looking forward to seeing more of it against the Falcons.
  15. I think technology can do better than cameras. At this point there is no reason to not have some type of sensors on the ball and at the goal line. Then there would be NO question as to whether it reached the goal line. Of course, that would have to be used in combination with cameras to see if the ball carrier was down or out of bounds.
  16. I skipped denial. Passed through anger in the fourth quarter and am now firmly in the bargaining stage. I really don't want to move onto depression.
  17. I don't really see Ralph doing it jsut to prove a point, as I don't recall him making ay waves about this rule at any of the past owner's meetings. I do, however, see Ralph paying up so the team can wear them again if he feels is worth it business-wise. The throwbacks must be selling well. If Ralph feels he can offset the fine by sell enough of them by having the team wear them again just before Christmas, then I think he would do it. My guess is that the Bills break the top 10 in jersey sales after Raplh pays up and Bills come out on primetime in the throwbacks against Denver.
  18. Sounds good. I was just wondering...
  19. Thanks for putting this together, Nick. I signd it, and I will send it out to the Bills Backers in my area. Any idea on how you can see how many have signed it? And who will it be sent to?
  20. We obviously lost the field postition battle in Tampa Bay, and the punting was a big reason why. The Bucs punter had severeal GREAT kicks, pinning us deeep -- and one lead directly to the safety. Brian didn't have any touch. Everything was way too long, everything but that one terribley short kick. We need much better out of Moorman if we're going to compete this year. I agree, he has been a shocking dissappointment so far this year. I guess he spoiled us the past two seasons.
  21. I don't think you're taking much of a risk with that statement.
  22. OK, I know this was discussed a bit here yesterday, but I was wondering if anyone heard anyting new on topic? Last week TD said the NFL rule was that any single team can only wear its throwback uniform twice per season. He went on to make some good sense and say that the next time would likely be against the Chargers or in primetime against Denver. So, is there a way for the Bills to get a waiver, pay a fine/fee, etc., to be able to wear them again later this year? Or are they done for the season now, which IMHO, would be a big mistake marketing-wise?
  23. I go with a win hosting at the Raiders and hosting the Pats, but a loss to the Panthers and maybe Chiefs. I really cannot make a judgment yet on the Saints game.
  24. 100 percent agreed on both counts.
  25. You are correct. But, more importantly, you can count on a second-year QB with one NFL start to make plenty of mistakes, especially against a good defense in a hostile enviroment. Do I need to give an example?
