Anyone else catch that? They've listed the Bills as 0-4 all last night and this morning on the sports ticker on ESPN and ESPN2. Did the NFL overturn the Houston game? Not that I think the team deserves any respect right now, but ESPN should be very, very embarrased that they have made a mistake in such a basic stat as an NFL team's win-loss record.

You're 100 percent correct. The Saints used the game plan that we used last year in the second half of the season -- the game plan that took the Bills on the win streak. But, for some craziness, the Bills decided to abandon the run. I am feel so sure that if McGahee had been given the ball 15 more times in the second half, he'd have 150 yards and very likely a win.
-
If JP is in, he likely sneaks it instead. Of course, even if he doesn't, the Saints have to watch much more closely for that. I'm not saying the Bills necessarily make it with JP, but I think it would have been more likely.

Sam Adams. His routine this year: In for one play, he waddles over to the bench, sits down for two plays, consumes a gallon of ice cream, heads back in, misses a tackle, waddles over to the bench to catch his breath and get a hotdog....
-
My thought exactly, RTDB. To quote The Who, "Meet the new boss -- same as the old boss." MM and TC elect to hand the ball off to McGahee just 16 times. But McGahee still manages to get 84 yards (a 5.3 average) with a touchdown. MM = GW and TC = Killdrive, but JPL does NOT = RJ.

Jamie Winborn coming to Buffalo???...
scribo replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off, Plummer is out for an extended period of time. He just chose to have surgery rather than play with some pain. The docs gave him a choice. I cannot blame him, considering who he is playing for. Here is another article on this. This one thinks the 49ers are making a bad move letting Winborn go. A bad move for one team often equates a good move by another team. San Jose Mercury News article -
Just 33 votes seperate Orchard Park and Arrowhead after I voted. And, the Bills were behind! Go vote.

Be safe, have fun and go Bills! Oh, yeah, try and not be dissappointed if your flight is cancelled.

Are the Bickering Bills coming back?

Well, that is a very good point. So I guess we just have to wait see if we have the type of characters we had back in 1989. Will the bickering cause each guy to step up and perform? I sure hope so because that is only way the bickering will go away. -
It should be pointed out that the Bills' D also has the advantage of practicing daily against a mobile QB. No way JP gets sacked that many times, not if we're going to be competitive Sunday. Well, again, there will be no secret about the opponent's offensive gameplan Sunday. We'll see what happens without the heat this time.

What exactly goes into getting a jersey ready?

I'm not tracking...are you saying that because there are grammar and spelling mistakes on the site that it unlikely that someone of some seniority could be looking at the site? Oh, just as a friendly note, you misspelled grammar. Sorry Cinci and Dan, you guys beat me to it.

Which NFL head coach gets bagged first?

I agree that we are agreeing. I didn't know this was the practice reporters were allowed to attend. That tells me that the person who writes for the Web site may actually have known about the cast a few days ago and waited until to today to write about it. And, yes, propagandized, is a word.
-
You make several very good points, especailly with the Bungles and Patsy examples. I am not arguing the fact that BB.com is quite informational and entertaining. As for Brown's blog, I also agree that what he writes isn't the team's official stance, but I still think the team has to approve what he writes, therefore ruling out absolute objectivity. I enjoy reading BB.com each day, but the fact is that it is maintained by a public affairs/marketing office. And such an office has one mission: to promote and support the team through strategically controlling information. Putting word out that the coach would prefer was kept quiet does not help the team and would not intentionally be done - if it is, someone's head would roll, I'm sure. On the other hand, an independent news source would put such info out in a minute if it is news -- whether or not the info is detrimental to the team. My original point is that the team is releasing the info that Milloy is wearing the cast, so the person writting about it should just come out and say so.
-
You are incorrect if you think this info was put on that site without it being OK with TD and MM, or at least people who are given authority to represent them, such as an excutive in the public relations office. At the same time, of course, the Buff News and Rochester D&C don't ask permission to print something. That is all I mean. Oh, now that I mentioned the public releations/marketing office. It is that office's staff who puts the content for BB.com together. Public affairs shouldn't be confused with journalism.
-
Our wants and our realities are two different things. Sure, I'd love one more site that offers totally objective coverage of the Bills, but the bottom line is that whoever manages the content on that site works for the Buffalo Bills. If that person or people posts something there that Mr. Wilson, TD, MM, etc., doesn't like, he is gone. To think otherwise is "just ridiculous."
-
OK, not exactly what I meant by my comments, but I don' think anything other than the mandated injury reports should be put out by the team. What I was saying is that the Web site is trying to come off like it is a media entity independent of the team. Anything that is on the site (unless it is in a message board or chat setting) can and should be considered an official team announcement. So, the team just announced that Milloy was out of practice today and wearing a cast. But the verbage makes it sound like that was just the observation of a journalist. By the way, is such an announcement required?
-
Bite your tounge!
-
How the hell does the "official" Web site for the tema put out something like this? What, the team doesn't know if it was a cast or not? That is like the Army's Web site saying "it appears that the 3rd Infantry Divsion corssed into Iraq today."
-
Thanks, but I think I'd take my chances.
-
Thanks, the link worked fine. I guess the D.C. affiliate just hasn't made up its mind yet.
-
I don't doubt you, but I was wondering if you could tell me how you know this. I only ask because the station's Web site still lists that time slot as "Either Atlanta at Buffalo or Tampa Bay at Green Bay." The same goes for the D.C. Fox station.
-
Anyone know how it works if you live in an area like I do that is right in the middle of two makets? I live right between Washington and Richmond, so I get the netwrk stations from both cities. The Washington Fox station may play the Bucs/Packers game. If they do that, can we still get the Bills game it on the NFL Ticket?
