  1. No but Joseph will be, so there goes that response.
  2. I hope it is false for two big reasons -- first, I don't want the Jests to get another 1st rounder, or anything for JA, for that matter. Second, I think the Broncos are one of the teams we'd have a good shot at trading the #8 pick to in case all the guys we want are gone.
  3. ESPN is reporting the Raiders are "likely" to release QB Kerry Collins. FWIW
  4. Per KFFL... Kansas City Chiefs OL Will Shields has been informed he will be released. Kansas City Chiefs LB/ST Gary Stills has been informed he will be released
  5. It already happened. It was announced last night.
  6. It will actually go up about $10 million, I believe. But the Bills will still be ahead of the game if that happens.
  7. I think that makes sense, but it looks as if it is too late now.
  8. I think that even they must be nervous. There is going to be some real bargins to be had with the low cap. A GM with a lot of room must be very leary of overpaying someone and ending up in the loser column in the end. Every GM needs to watch his pennies now. The one sure thing in all this is that there will be huge winners and huge losers, and we may be surprised who ends up in which column.
  9. This whole thing could really change the playoff races next year. This must be very nerve-wrecking for every GM. It seems that the teams with the most creative front offices will be the big winners.
  10. I hope 200+ are cut -- 'cause it will be so fun to watch all their names on ESPN's ticker at the bottom of the screen.
  11. Not a good day to be a Redskin, Colt, etc...
  12. Link That leaves the salary cap at 94.5 million.
  13. I saw this on KFFL, thought about posting it, but then figured I should let you do it, VA.
  14. Intersting but possible. All it seemingly would take is for the Packers to pass on him in favor of Hawk, which I guess is not that far fetched. I'm firmly in the Davis camp, but I would be very, very happy with Super Mario.
  15. 1 Houston Texans: Reggie Bush 2 New Orleans Saints: Trade with Jets....Jets take Jay Cutler 3 Tennessee Titans: D'Brickashaw Ferguson 4 New York Jets: Trade to Saints....Saints take Matt Leinart 5 Green Bay Packers: Mario Williams 6 San Francisco 49ers: A.J. Hawk 7 Oakland Raiders: Vince Young 8 Buffalo Bills: Vernon Davis Bonus: 9 Michael Huff
  16. Moulds not being cut tells me nothing more than that the Bills realize they gain nothing by cutting him now versus cutting him later. Yes, the team LIKELY wants to keep him for the right price, but they might as well hold onto him until they really need the cap space. I would think they could cut him and use the money to sign someone else with just a few strokes of a pen. Keep him, put the pressure on and see if he backs down as teams looking for WRs spend their dough.
  17. FWIW...Per KFFL... Mark Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports someone close to Houston Texans general manager Charlie Casserly said the Texans have "no interest" in trading for New York Jets franchised DE John Abraham. "In fact, I spoke to a lot of people in Indianapolis (at the NFL Combine) who said they won't go near Abraham," the person said. This is funny stuff. The Jests might not be able to afford to keep JA. Anyone think they may cut him? Oh, the Post also reported that the Jests are going to try hard to land free angent OT Kevin Shaffer. This seems to mean they are now looking to draft a QB first and not D'Brick.
  18. Milloy played pretty well most of the time, IMHO, but I am still very disturbed by his reapeated comments that winning a Super Bowl is nice, but gettting big paydays is more important. That is no the attitude Levy speaks of so often.
  19. Per KFFL... Jets | Mawae could be gone Thursday Thu, 2 Mar 2006 05:36:17 -0800 The New York Daily News reports agent Mark Bartelstein said he was informed Wednesday, Match 1, by New York Jets general manger Mike Tannenbaum that the team likely will part ways with OC Kevin Mawae. Mawae's situation apparently goes beyond money. At 35, recovering from a torn triceps, he doesn't fit into new head coach Eric Mangini's rebuilding plan. Mawae was given permission recently to seek a trade, and he took that as a sign that he's no longer wanted. The Jets will save $1.1 million by releasing Mawae. "Nothing is official, but I got a sense from talking to (the Jets) that Kevin will be a free agent," Bartelstein said. "I think they've made the decision to retool and start over."
  20. I am excited, too. Can teams sign players today who were cut and not just free agents?
  21. I don't see a rookie starting on an o-line GMed by Marv Levy -- unless the Bills somehow land D'Brick. Also, I think Peters will get a look at LT -- hopefully after signing a new contract. My line for opening day: Gandy, Sheilds, Preston, Hutch, Peters.
  22. I didn't see the press conference yesterday, but I understand Marv said something along the lines of if it will be easier to attract a free agent if he sees an empty spot on the depth chart. Was he talking about any particular one of the players cut yesterday? I think it will be Milloy's replacement first. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Moulds replacement. There is no advantage of cutting him today versus cutting him next week, so why not hold on to him so as to not let the rest of the league know we're on hunt for a WR?
  23. For me, it is: 1. D'Brick 2. Super Mario 3. Vernon 4. Ngata 5. Huff It will obviously change -- likely by this time next week, but as of today...
  24. We have little if any real info to go on in judging Everett's abilities now post-injury. To those who wrote we should trade the #8 pick and then select Davis later in the round, please advised that Davis may not even make it to #8, in which case someone else of quality should be available. The Bills are in a very decent position at #8, IMHO.
