I've seen him still on the board in the middle of the second on several seven-round mocks. I know Marv firmly believes "you can never have too many corners," and there it had yet o be seen if Nate will be aroiund long term, so it certainly would make sense that the Bills are looking hard at corners. Also, what is the possibilty that Jennings could be converted into a safety?

Ha ha. Only one person has voted for Holcomb. I wonder who that is?

Moulds given permission to seek trade
scribo replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Moulds would go to Pitt if he was treated "right," but I don't know if they have the cap space to do so. -
Moulds will not get $6 million this season. He must know that by now. Bottomline, I'm not concerned with how much Moulds gets; I only care about how much the Bills get for Moulds.
-
His main value would be mentoring the younger guys and filling in until those younger guys are ready to start. That's what happened in Dallas and now he is looking for a new place. I would not be surprised if he just retires though.
-
I'd love to see him rape the Pats for $4 mil. Plus, I don't want NE to end up with Moulds, so signing Keyshaw would take care of that. And it would put the Giants back in the market for a WR, and they would make good trade partners.

Moulds given permission to seek trade
scribo replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The hit is the same. Remember the bonuses that the Bills are still paying do not transfer -- only the base salary does, but I am sure whatever team ends up getting Moulds will have an agreed upon new contract before they make the trade. -
Maurice Morris, Melvin Fowler visit today
scribo replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a ton of value of having your top two RBs run with different styles. Morris gets through the holes fast, taking what he can when he can. McGahee is obviously much more of a dance-and-go kind of guy. being able to change up the styles focres DTs to think more, which is not always their strong point. -
Moulds given permission to seek trade

Great, I am all for making Moulds and his "advisor" do the leg work in trying to find a trade partner. In fact, I've written in previous posts that this was the only path Marv would take. But, the Bills also need to be shopping right now. Moulds would probably love to go to NE or Denver, as I think he is going to try to find the best chance to get to a Super Bowl, but maybe Philly or Minny would offer the Bills more. In the end both the Bills and Moulds will have to agree on who the trade partner will be, but the Bills need to ensure they are getting the best deal they can, as well. If the Bills can induce a bidding war, I could see the Eagles' winning out with their 2nd round pick (46th overall, I believe). Marv is playing this perfectly right now. Make Moulds sweat by ignoring his request to be cut, wait for all the top UFA WRs to find teams and then throw this type of challenge at Moulds. -
Just what we needed. I really think he'll start. He is nasty, gritty and pretty damn fast. The most important things is that he is smart and can think on his feet. We really need a guy with experience at center, and this signing brings that to the Bills. It doesn't mean Preston is going to be sent to the bench for good now; I could see Preston as a starting guard by mid-season.

Link That was interesting to me. I am sure Marv and Dick spoke with him about this before signing him. If he is going to play here, he needs to realize that the QB position is up for grabs, and Kelly is not likely the Bills' QB of the future. Other than that, he seemed very focused on telling how fast he is. I hope there is more to the package than speed, becuase last time I checked there were some pretty fast DBs out there, as well. One other interesting answer:

He said Buffalo has "great coaches."Said he saw London Fletcher at OBD today watching film, and that impressed him. Said the Bills have the kind of linebackers who make the defensive linemen look better. Said he felt the visit was very good. Said the team is looking for fast-motor, up-beat guys. Didn't like last year in Denver, where he was benched for 14 games. He said that was an enlightening experience from which he will learn. He is looking forward to a fresh start. Said he would fit in here, but he declined to comment on whether he thought he'd end up here, whether he wanted to visit anywhere else, etc. Oh, and he really wasn't very difficult to understand.

We should trade EM now while he still has value.

You cannot drop his cap hit wihout him signing off on a new contract or on converting a particular type of bonus to a different type. Moulds has repeatedly refused to help that way this offseason. I posted this yesterday in a different thread, and I still believe it: The best way to deal with Moulds right now is to tell him he is going to be a Buffalo Bill until the end of his current contract (through 2007, I believe), unless he can go out and find a suitable trade partner. That would force him to do the leg work first off, but, more importantly, it would force him to work a new contract with the new team. Bonus hits don't transfer with trades. I am pretty sure this would work out well for all involved. The Bills would get a pick or a player for Moulds, Moulds would get to sort of pick his new team, and the new team would get a good WR with a mch friendlier contract than the Bills are holding now. In fact, this is about the only way I'd have it if I were Marv Levy. -
Yes, he would be a great addition to the Bills. But, first off, I doubt the Browns are going to send him packing, and I really doubt they'll give him up for a mere 4th. Yeah, I know they have Bentley now, but I would be very surprised if Romeo doesn't move Faine over to guard. That would make for one nasty middle.

Runyan said prior to his little vacation that he wasn't going to visit a team unless an offer was already on the table. So, either the Jests made an offer already, or Runyan had a change of heart when he realized Philly wasn't joking. Either way, I hope his next stop is OBD.

Sucks. Please, please sign Neal now.

I like that comment, too. It shows he really puts thought into what he does. Plus, it shows he doesn't mind playing in the snow. I like J.P., but he is a Cali kid.

Anyone know anything about Fowler? I found this, which does not seem that promising: Seems like a guy who could come in and back up Preston at center. -
Wow. Brett is going to count how much against the '06 cap? Answer, according to that link: $12,633,333

Moulds likely to be cut very soon!
scribo replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Parrish seemingly needs to play slot where it is more difficult for a defender to get a good jam on him. I have NO problem at all with LBs trying to keep up with Parrish. -
The key word is "expected." But notice the writer does not say who expects that. So, I am left to assume the expecting person is the writer. Do not read much into this.

Send Moulds packing, but do it this way: Tell him he isn't going anywhere unless he can go find a trade partner. He'll obviously have to agree with the other team to rework his contract upon being traded, which is STANDARD practice. I really think the Bills would end up with a first-day pick in the end; Moulds would end up on a team he wants to play for, and everyone wins inthe end. Of course, this would mean Evans would be the #1, which is a risk, but the team would have a little more dough to spend in the end on opening holes for Willis and protecting JP/Holcomb/Nall. -
hmmm this should get interesting....

Sign Neal and Runyan. Draft a guard or center in the second. You've instantly built a solid o-line. Something like: Peters - Neal -- Preston -- Villarrial/Gandy - Runyan With Anderson, Jerman, Villarrial/Gandy, Geisinger, McFarland, and a rookie as the backups. I would still love to see the Bills bring in Flanagan to help Preston along for another season.
