  1. Glad to hear it.
  2. That would be giving Moulds away for free, as it would cost just those two picks to move into the #8 slot. Denver would need to add a second or third rounder as well.
  3. Serious about leaving? Sure they were. They were serious about going to who ever paid them the most. It was that the teams weren't serious about letting them go.
  4. It is plausible. It is very interesting to note that of the top three QBs in this year's draft, it is likley none of them will be starting Week One.
  5. Ralph driving a mutli-million dollar company (the Bills) is a scary thought.
  6. Very, very true. What did Hostetler do after he left the Giants and the safety of that great o-line? Zilch. By the way, I'll take Marv's opinion over anyone here. He said recently the top three important positions for a footbal team are (in this order): D-line, O-line and then QB.
  7. Re-signing not resigning. Wasn't this covered already?
  8. I could see the first seven going as you project, but there is no way the Bills draft Young. The Bills have way too much invested in the three QBs already on the roster. Plus, Marv has said numerous times that he wants to win now. Young will not be a difference maker in the way the Bills need in his rookie year. I would think the Bills either try to trade down or take Bunkely or Huff if things pan out like you project.
  9. That seems like a plausible senario, but it would likely involve the Texans under-playing their hand -- trading away the #1 pick for the average price of a #2 or #3. I would think the Texans would just keep the #1, pick Bush, sell tons of jerseys and tickets, and get your team on the cover of SI, ESPN, TSN and so on. Plus, they could trade Dominic Davis.
  10. OK, your points all add up, but I still think that his agent would find a more efficent way to negotiate through the press if that was what he is doing. Rather, it seems, he is creating such a stir that Marv is bound to eventually realize Moulds would be more of a distraction next year than he is worth. That is evidently what the agent is aiming for, in hopes to get his client cut and on the market -- not to get Marv to change his mind about asking Moulds to take a pay cut.
  11. The QB will stink as long as there is not a good OL and a good system he is pasing and handing off for. See: Just about any QB who did well early in his career. The Steelers' line made Rottenburger look 50 times better than he really is at this point. I'm not saying he is actually a worse QB than JP, but I am saying that I cannot believe is as superior to JP as one would think just comparing the two QBs' stats and W-L record.
  12. But you have the Jests, not the Saints trading with the Texans. The Saints don't want to draft that high -- they don't even want to pick at #2. I agree 100% that there is too much pressure being put on Houston to take Bush, but that is just too bad for them. Of course, Casserly could just figure out that he is running that team -- not the fans. The Texans should have thought about all that before they sucked last year. This is bound to be a great draft, and no one is going to want to give up a bunch of picks in it to get the #1 slot.
  13. You are a joker.
  14. I'd take that trade in a heartbeat. It does seem to make sense for the Broncos. It has already been reported (before the trade with Atlanta) that they were looking to offload their two first rounders. By the way, if the Jests trade up, it will be with the Saints, who have said they would like to trade down now that they got Brees.
  15. I'm quite aware of what masrv's been doing, but we also need some veterans to help the young, up-and-coming players. Gandy and Villi are vets on the line, but most of the other guys are as you described.
  16. I think you are dead wrong. His agent said very directly to the press that Moulds will not play for Buffalo again. He didn't say he won't play for less money. He said he won't play for the Bills again. Now he has put his player is a position where in order to play for the Bills again he would have to swallow his pride. That is not something guys with NFL-sized egos do well. If the agent was just negotiating, he would have said I feel I am worth the money you have already contractually agreed to pay me, so please cut me if you don't feel the same. Then he leaves the door open for Marv to retract his demands and welcome Moulds back for the already big contract. In my view, it is very clear that Moulds does not care about burning bridges because he does not want to cross them again. That is why I asked this question.
  17. I'm fine with more playoffs. But I agree with Ramius that adding just one playoff slot per conference is dumb. Work it so no one gets a bye, or maybe everyone gets a week off between the season and the playoffs. All the conference winners play a wildcard team the first week.
  18. Note the important point here: Moulds contacted the Broncos, not the other way around. The only interest expressed there is from the Moulds camp, and we already know he is interested in moving.
  19. First off, I would draft Davis because he would instantly add an element to our offense every opposing team would have to account for, which is something very hard to acquire. With Moulds's representitive promising his client will never play for Buffalo again, I think Davis is a great way to allow the Bills to just stick with the WRs currently on the roster. All that said, I would draft D'Brick before Davis simply because of the rarity of being able to draft a franchise left tackle, and because OT is such a big need for the Bills. And I would probably take Mario Williams before Davis as well, but I am quite sure he will be gone. I just think he is going to be the biggest difference maker in the '06-'07 season among rookies. I see him as defensive rookie of the year and Davis as the offensive ROY. Now, Tennesee, you said you'd draft Ngata because we need a DT. This is true, but tell us why Ngata. I really have a lot of questions as to how he fits into the system the Bills are publicly saying they will implement next season.
  20. Can the Bills stop paying him as if he just retired, which would rid them of the entire salary cap hit? Or do they have to pay him the first few weeks? I have a contract, and I know if I refuses to work I wouldn't receive another dime. In fact, I'd be sued for breach of contract. I know Ricky Williams ended being told he had to give some of his bonus back if he didn't start playing again, but what was the salary cap implications for the stinkin' fish at that time? My main concern is the Bills lose the salary cap space and a WR. That would be some real crap, and I have to believe the NFL has a way to protect the team from players who just refuse to play.
  21. I'm not so sure Peters is out LT. If he was, then the Bills may be more earger to bring Runyan in, who happens to be a RIGHT tackle.True, Runyan isn't that good or young, but he is arguably the best RIGHT tackle left unsigned right now.
  22. Plain and simple, the price should be higher for AFC East teams. Bellychick would certainly play that way, so he should expect the Bills to as well.
  23. If the NFL expands anything, they will need to reduce the preseason.
  24. I really like the draft, but I am not sure Watson, Avent or Trueblood will fall to the positions you have the Bills drafting them at. I am still firmly on the Vernon Davis bandwagon, but I would take D'Brick over Davis. My top eight (for the Bills): Mario Williams Ferguson Davis Hawk Huff Bunkely Nagata Bush
  25. Brooks is not the longterm answer in Oakland. It is a good signing as it gives the Raiders a vet to start as Vince Young gets up to NFL speed, plus it gives Young a vet to learn from.
