I may be mistaken, but I am pretty sure the initial call on the field was that the interception was made. Which means the reviewing ref must see conclusive evidence to overturn the call. The cameras never showed that ball hit the ground. The fact that officials upstairs ordered the play to be reviewed only furthers my belief that if such a conspiracy exists, it is NFL-wide and not just a ref here and there. In all, I do think the booth was right in sending it down to the field being that it was a game-ending play, but there is no way that ref should be allowed to call another NFL game. Even Mr Cowboy himself, Troy Aikman, was saying it was clearly an INT.

I certainly saw the same thing, and I believe there are at least two other active threads here talking about the same observations. I cannot force myself to believe these must just be honest errors because these mistakes go in the favor of the same teams way, way too often. Anyone see the refs literally rob Jacksonville of a clear interception yesterday that would have sealed the game? The ball never came close to hitting the ground, but that is what the ref said after receiving the play. Why? In my humble opinion, because the league doesn't want to see a small market team like the Jags beat a money-making powerhouse like Dallas. Fortunately for Jacksonville, the Cowgirls let Drew Bledsoe throw again, and he hit a wide-open defensive back for yet another INT.

Yes, he dances, which is what he is built for. Remember last year when he stopped dancing after he was called out by the NFL's worst coach? How did that work out for us? Though, he should be ashamed that he had such poor situational awareness that he didn't know it was fourth down. I agree that a first down there would not have necessarily meant a win for us. We still couldn't stop the run or the tight ends.

I definitely agree with the call to go for it. And there is no one around who would have disagreed with the move if Willis had been able to reach out another foot. But it is a game of inches. Also, I am willing to bet the same people second-guessing the call today would be making the same type of posts if he elected to kick the field gaol and the Pats still managed to make the come back. Only then these arm-chair-coaches would be saying Jauron was spineless and should have gone for it. Let's face it; this is the nature of pro football. DJ could go either way, but as long as the Bills come up short in the end, there will be naysayers. I personally hope DJ and company make the same decision the next time that situation comes up. Play to win.

No. If he is able to go, play him. He needs to be given the chance to get into a groove. He showed excellent speed yesterday, and I thought he demonstrated good field vision yesterday, as he cut back and reversed field successfully a few times. And if he is less than 100 percent, then split his carries with A-Train. But there is no doubt that WM is a much better receiving threat than A-Train. Oh yeah, does anyone remember Gates now?

Didn't we have a second first-round pick this past April?
-
Wasn't last year's first scored by Jason Peters? I think J.P. will carry the first one in Sunday.
-
I feel bad fot the Pats. First, Branch holds out all to way into the regular season, and now their first-round pick is going to miss the season opener. No #1 WR and no #2 RB.

I voted. Thanks for the heads-up. Anyone notice how smotth of a marketing ply this is? They get all of us online Bills fans to go top the poll and then we are directed to SI's Bills page.

Will the Bills catch Pats off guard?
scribo replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jason, it certainly appears that the Pats will have to run all day and will be able run all day, but Bellychick is known for doing exactly the opposite of what is expected. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Pats come out throwing. -
Holy Crap, Check Out what Neil Rackers can do

I believe it, but I also think it took more than a few takes. A great kicker using a tee will have tremendous accuracy. -
CNNSI: Bills schedule "Best Case Scenario"
scribo replied to cosjef's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regardless of how this was done, the fact is that "experts" are starting to up their predictions for the Bills' season. Maybe J.P.'s preseason performances has them thinking he may work out after all? -
What to make of the Titans signing K Collins?
scribo replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meanwhile, in the desert, the word is that Lienhart may be ready to start this year. I only bring up this point because if the Titans had taken Lienhart, like I think they should have, I believe the Raiders would have taken Young, and we would have a different first-round safety on the roster today. Make what you will of that. -
He'll stay for now, IMHO. The team needs the depth there.

I love every time Jeff George's name comes up because it reminds me of his first game in the league. Biscuit knocked his lights out early and Bruuuuuce did the same later. After every brutal hit he took, the TV kept cutting away to George's poor parents, who looked like they were scared as hell. Also, consider who was hitting him to fully understand how long this guy has been around.
-
Let's take what we can for him. A 5th?
-
The bottom-line for us is that this leaves the Patsies without a true #1 WR. Jan Brady said Branch was the most important part of the NE offense. I hope they get little for him, but there is probably some team out there willing to give a up a first- or at least second-rounder for him.

To reply to my own message, I bet on the Bills (getting 3) and took the under (35). I won both and had a great night. It seemed logical that the rebuilding team would outplay the established team down the stretch as the Bills kept Losman in just about the entire game while the Panthers pulled most of their starters early.

Villarial, Vincent, Holcomb to be cut...
scribo replied to genomich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fist off, the team has plenty of money under the cap still. So, if they were looking for someone big, which I really don't think is possible because I don't think anyone great is still available, they could likely pull it off withouth cuting three vets who at the very least can provide veteran leadership. -
I'm gonna miss Matt Morgan, too. Ha!

It seems that Losman gets too amped up...

I agree that J.P. showed he very well could be effective in the no-huddle. I specifically remember him running it very well in the Carolina game last year before Mularkey inexplicably pulled the plug on it. -
OK, I'm in Reno for business and will be here through this weekend and next. Anyone else think I should bet on the Bills? I'll find out what the line is, but I think I'm going to put something on the game.

Good chance Holcomb will be the starting Qb for

I don't get where BillsDaily is coming from saying to expect Holcomb to get the nod. I seems to be pure speculation. -
