I think you are right, but one never knows, especially once the team is turned upside down tonight when Saban announces he is running like hell for Alabama.

Do it! Yahoo! Sports I would be so sad to see the stinking fish's best player call it quits.

Can Bills Draft Jarrett from USC?
scribo replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't seem to work at all, no matter how the WRs were acquired. How did it go for the Raiders having Moss and Porter? I thought they'd create so many mismatches, but it never panned out and now Porter is on his way out, Moss is sucking and the Raiders are on the clock. -
Will we repeat next year as the team with the toughest strength of schedule? The one good thing about that is that if the Bills do manage to make the playoffs next season, they'll be prepared to do well in the post-season.

With the 12th pick the Buffalo Bills select...
scribo replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My plan exactly. I really like Blaylock and he, it seems now, would still be available at 20. No need to draft a WR in the first. It is usually too expensive to keep to top-dog WRs on the same team, and we obviously already have one. I am not opposed to drafting a DT in the first, but it would be tough to do that while not knowing how last year's 1st round DT is going to work out. -
Kevin Gilbride to take over Giants Play calling

He should be shot. -

One more chance for Killdrive to screw things up. He should be shot if he has Eli throw one pass on the drive. -

This is Tiki's last regular season game. He says he is retiring after the playoffs. -

Greggo has no answer for Tiki. Killdrive is going to have to really screw this one up for the Deadskins to have a chance. Even he has to be able to see that Tiki can run this one right into the win column. -
One thing that has been very nice this week...
scribo replied to NorthWesternBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha. I know the feeling. I got a new truck last week, and I just got around to putting my Bills plate frame on yesterday. I had two idiots come up to me earlier tonight in a parking lot asking me how bad I thought our boys would get spanked tomorrow. The guy actually asking was kinda drunk and just loud. So I told him "not as hard as I am going to spank your wife tonight." They looked at each other and walked away. I figured he'd want to fight. So there are plenty of loud mouth Ravens fans, and some are real wimps. -
What do the Ravens have to play for tomorrow?

What do the Ravens have to play for tomorrow?
scribo replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have a lot to play for and will play full speed. If they win, they will have at the least a first-round bye and open the playoffs at home. They could also, with a win and a Chargers loss, lock up homefield throughout the playoffs. If they lose, the Pats get the bye and the Ravens are playing next week. All the Baltimore players have come out and said they really need the bye. It will be a brawl. -
How long are so many of you going to continue to allow JSP to get your goat? He comes out with outlandish posts just to get people going. It is fun in ways, but I'll stick to reading those posters who write a bit more rationally and not just for shock value. That said, I like the quotes in his signature line.

Can you use coupons when signing a player? Is there a shopper's club card for GMs? We should get a senior's discount. Really, it is not funny.

It was filed by Nicholas Gilman. I am not sure if he is an American, but he is one of Saddam's lawyers, or, I should say, was one of Saddam's lawyers.

I agree 100 percent. I think this is a very viable option for the Fletcher. I am fine with it. London may get a Pro Bowl out of it, and i will be happy for him, but we are going to beat them out for the division crown next season.
-
You are right. Put Steinbach on the left next to Peters -- can you imagine that combo? Womack may be overrated in some circles, but I think he can be had for reasonable money, and if we want a dominating line, Pennington is not ready to be the right tackle, especially when playing next to Gandy, and especially especially on a playoff-bound team, which is what I hope the Bills see themselves as next year.
-
My plan: Re-sign Nate for big bucks Let London walk Re-sign Kelsay Sign Ian Scott in free agency Sign Eric Steinbach in free agency Re-sign Gandy Sign Floyd Womack in free agency Ban Steinbach from boating on the Erie Don’t return Tim Anderson’s calls Trade Nall for whatever we can get Let Andre Davis go be fast somewhere else Re-sign A-Train Trade down and draft Amobi Okoye Trade back up and draft Justin Blalock Trade Mr. Royal for whatever we can get Sign Daniel Graham in free agency Cut Shelton Sign Justin Griffith in free agency Don’t give McGahee an extension unless it is a good deal for the team Give Losman an extension Draft Anthony Waters in the 4th or so How's that o-line: Peters, Gandy, Fowler, Steinbach, Womack -- with Justin Blalock, Preston, Pennington backing up -- a very solid starting unit with decent young depth who will be learning as they backup the vets. OK, so there is too much to get done here, but I think they are good goals to start with.

I've seen several people die, all in some way because of this bastard. I don't want to see the video, but I won't turn away of it is on.

How is Ellison-Crowell-Spikes faster than Ellison-Spikes-Crowell? Do you think Crowell would be a better MLB than Spikes?

Today's article about FA's brings up question
scribo replied to Buffalo Mike1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly don't know the answer to this question: What are the real differences in physical attributes between a MLB and an OLB. I know an outside guy has to be quite a bit quicker and faster. I would think an inside guy would have to be physically stronger and have a greater ability to shed blocks and fight through traffic. Takeo is a monster when it comes to upper-body strength. We all know that. Is he tough enough to shed nasty interior offensive linemen? Can he knock the hell out of a fullback and still take down the ball carrying running back? -
I agree with everyone that Nate needs to be re-signed and that Fletcher can be replaced with some one with more upside. My point is that the Bills' actions and London's comments seem to state that is exactly what is going to happen. Incidently, I also think it is good that Fewell understands Nate's value and how hard it would be to replace him.

It seems Fletcher is gone. I have to presume several teams, including a couple with good playoff potential, will be interested in his leadership, durability and nose for the ball. London has made several comments that make it clear that he is disappointed with the playoff drought. He sounds like he feels under appreciated. He knows starting every game for five-plus years is very impressive and valuable. He knows he was the glue this year on the defensive side of the ball. He knows his tackle count ranks right among the top of the league, as does his number of interceptions for a linebacker. But he didn’t get a contract extension last off-season, and he took that personally. "I used to play in St. Louis. They call that the 'Show Me State,"' Flethcer told The Associated Press a couple of weeks ago. "They have to show me they're serious about extending me, just don't tell me." He even hired Drew Rosenhaus last year, saying he made the move just to facilitate an extension. He obviously wanted to get this done then, but for whatever reason, that didn't happen, and I cannot blame him for taking that personally. "Things have changed because that was prior to the season," he told AP. "The scenario has changed." Are the Bills showing enough interest? I don’t think so. Not publicly, at least. Jauron said a few nice things about Fletcher after the Pro Bowl snub, but the main comment coming out of the clubhouse from a coach was from Fewell. He said re-signing Nate was more important. What the hell? Yes, that very well may be the case, but it is not something that should be verbalized by the defensive coordinator in the media. That would be like a parent announcing who his/her favorite child is. "Those guys are hard to come by," Fewell said of Clements. "If you've got a really good corner like that, they're invaluable. You can't find guys like that each and every year, especially with the experience he has and the knowledge he has. That would be a big blow. To me, that would be the biggest piece to replace on our defense." Really, the only ringing endorsements of London I’ve read from the Bills have all come from the players rather than the coaches. London is also still miffed about not making the Pro Bowl. Remember that one of the reasons Takeo Spikes left Cincinnati was that he wanted to go to Hawaii, and he didn’t think that was likely to happen playing for a team losing all the time. Of course, maybe Fletcher can look at what happened for TKO. Yes, he made the Pro Bowl after switching teams, but if he had shown a little more patience, TKO would still be playing for Cinci, now a much higher profile team than the Bills. If London comes back, it will be because of the potential he sees in Buffalo. Meanwhile, the losing season after losing season apparently has worn on Fletcher. "It's been hard on me," Fletcher said. "I'm tired of going home on Sundays and feeling bad. "As far as the wins and losses go, losing, you can't really be happy about losses and not making the playoffs during my five years here. That makes me unhappy," The bottom-line is that Fletcher has been a rock for us, but he has continually been overlooked by the national media, has had to deal with way too much losing, and the team didn’t care enough to extend him last year or give him a ringing endorsement now. “It's a situation where once the season is over you have to look and evaluate everything," Fletcher said. "They'll do some evaluating and if there is something where both parties feel that it is best that I return, then we will try to get something done." But I don’t think his “party” thinks returning is best.

Ah yes, a network that has income other than advertisers. PBS and (believe it or not) NPR are also good sources for news if you really want both sides. The problem with NPR is that they allow a good deal of editorializing in each direction, but they balance it out if you listen long enough. Oh, and CSPAN is very good at staying down the middle.

If by stable you mean a country in which the average person needs to worry about being murdered, raped, robbed and oppressed by the government, then you are correct.
