  1. You do realize Walker just got $5 mil a year today, right? I don't think he will really be competing with a couple of late-round second-year guys.
  2. How is Art Shell doing these days? Where does he work?
  3. Excellent post. I was thinking pretty much the same thing. This is a lot like last year's draft. We, along with many of the "experts" (who are so great they are on TV instead of actually making choices for a team) thought higher of others, but the Bills disagreed and moved in their own direction. I know the jury is still out on Whitner, but I think that move is going to work out very well for us, and think the Dockery signing will, as well.
  4. It has been a foregone conclusion that someone would really break the bank with this new larger-than-life salary cap. I guess that someone is Nate and the Niners. Now, how does it affect the rest of the league? It is not really good for us since we need a corner now.
  5. Walker got a lot of money. They must be very sure he can handle the starting role. But at RT or RG? He is big, strong and had decent feet. I think he will do very well under McNally's tutalge.
  6. Who was the last big FA to leave the Bills for San Fran? And how did he do?
  7. I wish we could have kept him, but I am really, really glad we didn't pay that much for him. Of course, it is an 8-year contract, which means there is no way he will ever play the whole thing out.
  8. I think June is a very good possibility. But who really knows? In Marv we trust.
  9. So says the scroll on NFL Network. The report is being attributed to Adam Schefter.
  10. Yep. And they just reported the Dockery signing. Life is good again.
  11. Oh, you are right. I am sorry. I just got NFL Network, and I am already taking it for granted. By the way, I hope you are doing well. I am the guy you ate with in Baltimore back in Week 17.
  12. OK, it is the first day of the offseason season. So, of course, I want to watch the network dedicated to the only sport I give a damn about. But I cannot, because there is no way I am going to watch a show about the stinkin' fish, which is what is on now. Yeah, they didn't lose a friggin' game that one season, but I don't care and I don't want to hear about it any more. Plus, the scroll at the bottom of the screen isn't telling me that Dockery is a Bill, which is what I want to read. Damn, I am mad.
  13. I have a conspiracy theory. Fletcher is likely dining with Gibbs, Greggo and Snyder tonight, keeping their attention on him while Dockery is licking blue cheese off his fingers with Marv and Dick. Snyder is letting Dockery go because he needs the cap space to sign Fletcher. So as soon as Dockery signs, Marv calls London, who then finishes his steak and abrubtly heads for the door and back to Buffalo.
  14. Nice find. But... From the caption: Actually, I am pretty sure he was an OLB not a DE.
  15. I woudl rather he just leave the AFC. I do not think the stinkin' fish will get any type of compensation for him. If he makes it through the NFL review board and is reinstated, I think Miami will just release him. He may go sign with da Raiders or something.
  16. Does anyone think this will finally humble the guy? I mean, last I knew he still thought the Cowgirls were making a mistake starting Romo in front of him.
  17. Even if they sign someone in the early hours of tomorrow morning, we won't hear about it until the afternoon. Did we sign anyone on the first day of FA last year?
  18. So what might the Bills get for Spikes? What if we package him with McGahee?
  19. McGahee was leading the league because all the other good backs had already had their bye weeks, and the Bills hadn't yet. Willis wasn't close to the top from the Bills' bye week on.
  20. I read that he is likely to re-sign with the Saints, just as Lewis may stick with the Ravens, just for less '07 money.
  21. Will it be official by the time we wake up tomorrow?
  22. Hey, I am all for Rottenhouse making McGahee seem better than he really is. All that will do is help the Bills get more for him in a trade.
  23. No, the Bills can talk about it, as they hold the contract. They can talk behind closed doors with other teams or they can tell the press themselves. I believe McGahee can talk about it, too, but other teams cannot be the first to tell the world. What has often happened though, is that team officials have leaked it to the press by asking the reporters to not report the names of the their sources. That is against the tampering rules, but it happens. Of course, Reese apparently didn't remember or know the rules when he spoke up. It is not the player's rights being tampered with, it is the Bills'. What this means, IMHO, is that there are probably several teams quietly shopping a player or two of theirs. Obviously there is the risk that it will be leaked.
