Predict the draft day trade
Buffalo_Stampede replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are sending Picks 28, 60, 128 and 133 for pick 12 to Denver. Then we’re sending 12 and our 2025 2nd to Atlanta for pick 8. -
I’ll put this in the rumors thread. We're drafting Rome Odunze or Xavier Worthy. Write it down in ink.

I wish. -
Hot take. Javon Baker > Xavier Legette.

No. I actually see a lot of Diggs in a mid round guy though. Jamari Thrash!

I don’t think we have any McConkeys. But I like other WRs better. McConkey is a smooth route runner and separator. I wish he had longer arms.

I think the Bills trade up into the teens before the draft. Then trade up again into the top 10. -
I’m not a big fan of Legette. Stiff route runner.

Do you follow hockey? They fire guys on Monday and hire a new guy by the next game on Wednesday. The Sabres are acting like a real NHL team. This is what they do. There doesn’t need to be an extensive search because everyone knows about these guys. They’ve been hired by 3-4 teams already. Ruff is right up there with all the other candidates. This not a nostalgia hire. He’s exactly what the GM said he wanted. He’s a better fit than some of the other guys because of how well he works with young teams. -

No. The Sabres need to take another step forward. This is the step forward. I don’t understand why people care about ties to Buffalo? Teams in all leagues hire coaches with ties to the team. Typically they’re assistants with ties to the team getting a head coaching opportunity. Who cares. Ruff checked all the boxes. -

@BullBuchanan Answer this question? Does Lindy Ruff make a team worse? If he improves the Sabres just 3-4 more wins he’ll take the playoffs. I believe he can be that difference. He won’t make them worse. -

Coaches have returned to coach the same team a few times in the NHL. -

Won 40+ games 3/4 years with Dallas, including a 50 win season. Took over the worst team in hockey in NJ and built them into a contender in 2 years. He’s a coach that has built up bad teams to good teams. -

Yeah yeah. The guy 5th in all time wins had nothing to do with the winning. Listen, they said the same stuff about Lindy in Buffalo, multiple times. He won the division 3 different ways in Buffalo. With different systems. Won in Dallas. Won in Jersey. He’ll win again in Buffalo. -
I mean no, but he was the one they put the game in the hands of.

NHL is a coaching retread league. They typically just hire the same coaches over and over until they’re too old. The Sabres on the other hand have been hiring inexperienced coaches. The one retread they hired after drafting Eichel was Bylsma and he was considered a moron around the league, no one else would hire. This is a quality hire by NHL standards. Ruff knows what he’s doing. He should do what he’s done everywhere, compete for a presidents trophy and make the playoffs. I wouldn’t expect a cup though as he hasn’t gotten over that hill. -

How did they win 52 games? Other teams surprised by how old the system was?- 153 replies

Let me guess, you’re a fire Sean McDermott guy? -
Keenan Allen has said this before but Stevie Johnson doesn’t get enough credit as a pioneer of route running. I feel like he did it first and others followed him.
