Why are there always people complaining about McDermott without names to replace him with? -

I’m talking since Allen has been elite. So since 2020 it’s the worst roster on paper heading into the season. -

I figured winning your division 4 straight seasons without winning a Super Bowl had to be rare. So this is the company our guy is in. Our guy and Chuck Knox in the 70’s are the only ones not to make a Super Bowl. Going back to 1970 merger. Not in order. There might be mistakes. Coach, Team, Years, and Super Bowl Appearances during that period. Bud Grant, Vikings, 1973-1978, 3 SB appearances during the streak, longest without winning a SB. Chuck Knox, Rams, 1973-1977, 0 SB appearances. Mike Holmgren, Seahawks, 2004-2007, 1SB appearance, won Super Bowl earlier with GB Marv Levy , Bills, 1988-1991, 2SB appearances during streak. John Fox, Broncos, 2011-2014, 1SB appearance, fired after 2014 and team won SB in 2015. Andy Reid, Eagles, 2001-2004, 1 SB appearance. Won a SB with a different team years later. 😑 John Madden, Raiders, 1972-1976, couldn’t beat Steelers and Dolphins until year 5 when he finally beat the Steelers and won a SB. Had multiple QBs, Lamonica and Stabler. Bill Cowher, Steelers, 1994-1997, 1 SB appearance. eventually won a Super Bowl with Pittsburgh in 2005. Many different starting QBs. I thought Dan Reeves was definitely 1 but he never won 4 straight division titles with Elway. Did win 5 in 8 years with 3 SB appearances with Elway. Reeves made a SB with Atlanta after getting fired. Elway won 2 SB’s at the end of his career when old position coach Mike Shanahan returned to Denver. I always thought this could be a good example for the Bills future because I can see Daboll returning to Buffalo if they fire McDermott. Reeves never won a SB. Shottenheimer never won 4 straight division titles believe it or not. Chargers did win 4 straight with Rivers but Shotty won 1 and Norv Turner won the other 3. No SB appearances for Rivers. -

It’s the worst roster he’s had. I’ve stated that we find out a lot about McDermott this year. And Allen to be honest. -

You’re thinking of Tampa winning after replacing Dungy. Dungy went on to win with Indy. Bulls still lost to Detroit after replacing Collin’s with Jackson. Jackson’s 2nd year they beat an old Pistons team at the end of their dynasty run. If you think McDermott is standing in the way of Josh Allen then I guess there is no discussion to be had until Allen has a different coach. -

Not even close. We’re further away from the Bengals than we are the Chiefs. Let that marinate for a while! -

Imagine firing McDermott and finding out the guy that replaces him came from a team that also can’t beat Kansas City! -

Dynamic defensive stars you mean, pass rushers to be specific. HC needs to stay out of the way. -

I’m going to make an excuse. I predicted they would lose that game, didn’t matchup well vs Cincinnati. -6 was a crazy number and I made a lot of money. 😉 -

I don’t really blame anyone for the lack of pass rush, although if I did I would definitely blame whoever made the decision not to trade for Von Miller in 2021. Beane spoke about it, said he didn’t know if he could sign him as a free agent. Thats the one move that always haunts me. GO FOR IT! While they still could. I much rather would’ve traded a late 2nd round pick then signing Von to $120 million. They’ve definitely identified the problem and tried to bolster the DL. Fans here hated it though. Adding Miller and Floyd in free agency were attempts to win upfront. Bad luck took it away. Injuries to Miller and Daquan Jones killed the plan. It’s really frustrating to me. As for what Cincinnati did to beat KC. Yes it was coaching, but they needed something drastic as they were being blown out of the stadium. They got some luck at the end of the half also. Mahomes got careless and confused. It was a great coaching move. They did also get home on Mahomes with just a 3 man rush. It was crazy. -

It would be nice if he’d just lose the friggin division or a wild card game so we can stop making excuses for him. Im ready for them to get upset in the playoffs or miss the playoffs all together. It just hasn’t happened yet. -

Not at all in favor. I was posting relevant data. There is no argument to defend his performance vs KC. The only way to approach it is to ask how do we fix these results? My answer is front 4 pressure. It’s more personnel than coaching. -

Bills just struggle getting to Mahomes with their front 4. Bengals have been much better at putting pressure on Mahomes. Same can be said when we lost to Burrow. Chiefs beat Burrow with pressure. Bills couldn’t sniff him. -

It happens. Watch more football. Compare to the league. Chiefs lost to the worst team in the league and won a Super Bowl. The Bills consistently steam roll bad teams. They have their off games as well. -

Yeah. Only 22 games. 49ers for example has faced 30. Greatest Coach of all time sucks without Tom Brady. Kind of makes me question all coaches to be honest. -

One thing I did find while looking that data up was since 2020 the Bills have faced the fewest playoff teams in the regular season. But we still beat them at a high rate. -

Since 2020 the Bills have the 3rd best winning % vs teams that made the playoffs. 1- Chiefs 65% 2- GB 62% 3- Buffalo 59% 4- 49ers 53% All other teams are below .500 Winning % Vs all teams .500 or better since 2020 1) Chiefs 66% 2) Bills 62% 3) 49ers 54% 4) GB 53% All other teams are below .500. Points allowed vs Mahomes in the playoffs. 1) Texans 51 2) Steelers 42 3) Eagles 38 4) Bills 36 (3 games) 5) Tennessee 35 6) NE 31 7) Indy 31 8 ) 49ers 28 (2 games) 9) Jags 27 10) MIA 26 11) Cincinnati 24 (2 games) 12) Cleveland 22 13) Baltimore 17 14) Tampa 9 -

Constantly playing down to competition is one of the craziest statements. The Bills, like all teams have off games, but they’re consistently destroying inferior opponents under McDermott. Their point differential since 2020 is ridiculously good, there aren’t any teams close to them. -

People keep mentioning the Miami game to criticize McDermott. This is all in about 5-6 minutes to end the 2nd quarter up 17-3. All in order. McDermott’s defense held Miami to FGs until Allen’s 2nd INT in 5 minutes, Beasley’s fault. Last clip is the start of the 3rd, again an Allen blunder. Skyler Thompson was 18-45 for 200 yards, 1td, 2int, 4 sacks. Josh Allen careless INT on 1st down with open players underneath. Mahomes doesn’t do this. Matt Milano misses tackle on 4th and 8 Shakir drop Cedric Wilson punt return after Shakir drop Holland INT off Beasley drop. Now it’s a football game and anything can happen. Start of the 3rd Allen doesn’t see the blitz on 1st down. Sack, fumble, TD. Miami now leading 24-20 just like that.
