Allen is a great player and we can make a case that he’s better than Mahomes. It just doesn’t mean anything until he accomplishes the things Mahomes has. Allen should be on this list but he isn’t. A move like this would be made in the spring or an emergency during a game. Moving Douglas now doesn’t make sense.

We can blame McDermott for his defense and Beane for his personnel decisions, but Allen won’t be considered a top 5 player in league circles until the Bills do more than what they’ve done. He’s been ranked about the same every season. 2/5 playoffs Allen is blameless. Mahomes outplayed Allen in both games you mentioned. I also would like Allen to run the clock vs KC last year at the end.

How do you separate the top 2-4 QBs in the league?

I’ve never been the type of fan that wants to fire everyone for losing in the playoffs. Not saying any type is the wrong type. I’ve never been angry or disappointed for finishing second or 3rd or 4th. It definitely hurts, but it just makes me want it more. I’m not satisfied but I just look at it differently. If we’re close I don’t believe in changing the plan, I believe in adding to the talent.
