  1. It’s there. I read an article posted after the Patriots TE controversial incompletion last week. What’s not in the rule book according to the article is surviving the ground rule. It was removed a few years ago.
  2. What are Allen’s numbers in prime time because they seem really good.
  3. He’s a professional lip reader.
  4. Just did a little reading, the NFL removed the surviving the ground rule a few years ago. All that’s needed is the ABC to satisfied. This seems like it should be a big deal.
  5. Yeah but there are plays where there is clearly a football move being made. Part C of the rule is clear but it’s always they must survive the ground.
  6. Man…. Honestly I don’t know. Because the refs always call it the same. There must be something we’re missing in the rules because every controversial call should’ve been a completion based on the ABC rule you posted. Every single one.
  7. Ok that makes sense now. There are two rules. I try not to read the NFL rule book. Makes my head hurt. So basically the 1st rule doesn’t matter at all. Lol. Thats where the confusion comes into play for fans.
  8. He tucked the ball. Forget he step argument.
  9. I’m so confused. ABC. A - Secure the ball. B - 2 feet or body part in bounds C - 3rd step, tuck the ball, or reach the ball. OR survive the ground. I always thought the rule was ABC and survive the ground. One of the most controversial incompletions is the Steelers TE. By rule that’s a catch.
  10. It says tucking the ball also, which he does. Also the Saints player does in the video I posted earlier.
  11. Reading the rules just confused even more. The rule even states the ball can move when hit the ground. I give up.
  12. Not only that he tucks the football away. He tucks the ball.
  13. Lol now I’m confused reading the rules. So they already say if you tuck the ball while falling it’s a football move. Are the refs calling these plays wrong?
  14. How are you replacing Edmunds? We have Hamlin and his less than $1 million cap hit that can start at safety. They can’t afford to have both Poyer and Hyde on the roster next year. Honestly I wish they never extended Knox. Could’ve given that contract to Poyer.
  15. Is this a catch? I think they should add a football move to the falling to the ground rule. Meaning if you get 2 feet and tuck the ball or reach the ball it’s a catch and possession. On this play they say he hit the ground before the 3rd step and the ball came loose. If they tweak the rule it would be a catch due to him tucking the football before hitting the ground. 2 feet is not considered possession.
  16. I don’t actually hate the complete the catch rule when out of bounds. It’s very simple rule to me. Probably the easiest to call. I only get confused about the rule when a player is reaching the football out while falling and loses control when hitting the ground. To me the reach is a football move.
  17. Yep. The football move according to the rules is falling to the ground. So you must maintain possession through the fall. I think they should tweak the rule to allow tucking the football while falling as a football move. Meaning catch, 2 feet, then the football move is a tuck or reaching the ball out before hitting the ground. There’s been so many controversial plays with this rule.
  18. The problem is when does possession happen. You need 2 feet and a football move.
  19. The rule is saying possession never happens until there is a football move. In this instance I would say Poyer tucks the football which is a football move. The rule as the refs called is Poyer caught it but was falling down out of bounds so now he must hit the ground and secure the football or it’s a catch out of bounds.
  20. If Hyde returns then you go with Hyde and Hamlin as the safety duo next year. I don’t see a way to keep Poyer and Hyde.
  21. I’ll say this he is very explosive in the return game and that could be huge down the stretch.
  22. He’s not different. He’s terrible. But as an extra OL he doesn’t have to do much. And he cleared a big mental hurdle with the stinger. Those are painful, but came back in the game.
  23. The pass blocking wasn’t a surprise. That’s one of the best pressure defenses in the NFL. Quessenberry and Brown are terrible. Quessenberry was playing on a bad ankle that got worse. Buffalo might have to start looking at the waiver wire. Bobby Hart is what we thought he was. They’re in trouble at that position. If I’m Beane I’m trying to get Eric Fisher in here.
