  1. I just feel differently. Losing to the Chiefs or the Bengals just isn’t something I’m firing McDermott over unless there are multiple performances in a row like the Bengals loss. I don’t think you start over when you’re that close. Probably the best example of this is Dungy to Gruden but the problem with those Dungy Buccaneer teams was their offense was near the bottom of the league. I don’t think changing coaches when you’re top 5 in both offense and defense makes an any sense.
  2. Games are won during the week. What you saw vs the Bengals was a team not prepared to play. It falls squarely on the shoulders of McDermott and his staff. But you don’t grade the staff based solely on that game.
  3. If the Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots don’t win it there’s a chance the Bills do.
  4. Did Tom thank the Bills for being a doormat during his time in New England?
  5. I remember a host on WGR a while back saying they got calls everyday to bench Jim Kelly and start Frank Reich in the Super Bowl. It’s amazing how losing makes fans think. Doesn’t matter if you’re one of the best teams. If you lose you need to make drastic changes in the eyes of many fans.
  6. If this happened today Marv Levy would be fired on this board.
  7. They’re fixing it. Only took tearing down a Super Bowl contender.
  8. Can’t believe McDermott didn’t hire him as offensive coordinator.
  9. Protect Josh Allen over everything else.
  10. It’ll probably be Barkley for cheap.
  11. Already is a disaster. Hopefully he returns and can impact the next 2 years.
  12. Bad call. crazy thing is they held them to a FG anyways.
  13. Not average salaries. Cap space. First year cap hits last year were around $3-4 million or less for most of the OGs signed. So I wouldn’t expect a top OG but you can get a couple starting quality OGs. A guy that signed last year many wanted, Austin Corbett had a first year cap hit of $3.1 million. Actually less than Saffold’s cap hit.
  14. It’s not an assumption. Facts. What they will do is unknown.
  15. It was just a dumb defense. I wouldn’t be surprised if McDermott came up with it. It’s just something we don’t do. Someone thought they were smart.
  16. I’m ready to draft a center in the 2/3 round range and start him day 1. Happens a lot. Or move Bates and start rookie OGs. Got to sacrifice with the cap. Got to hit on rookie OL this year.
  17. There is no deep on that 3rd and 4 play. They’re on the 15 yard line. Not much to worry about deep. I can’t recall a play call like this before. They typically get charmin soft on 3rd and long.
  18. Edmunds cap hit would be relatively low early in the contract. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do with Edmunds and Oliver. I think they should move on from Edmunds, Poyer, and Oliver. It’ll be a tough decision. Use the money to build both OL and DL.
  19. They have enough to sign Edmunds, sign Phillips, and sign draft picks. That would leave holes at SS and OG. Extensions could be in order for DaQuan Jones and Nyheim Hines. Could create a nice chunk of cal space there. These 2 eat up about $13 million right now. A decision has to be made on Morse. I think the time has come. I would cut Morse and create $6 mill. Draft his replacement in the first 3 rounds. Draft OL in the 1st 3 rounds. A decision has to be made on Oliver. An extension would lower his cap hit considerably. As would a trade obviously. We should have money to replace Poyer with a veteran safety. we’d be in good position. We need to draft starters this year.
  20. With restructuring alone.
  21. I think they save about $6 million in cap space. You can sign 2 quality interior OL for that cap hit.
