I mean we won’t get that but we need to hit on a rookie contract WR that can develop into a top 2 WR. I don’t think we can expect a late 1 or 2 round WR to impact much next year. We might have to sign a WR with talent that has upside. Someone in the $8-10 million range who has upside as a WR2 this upcoming season. A DJ Chark possibly. Make the 1st year cap hit low.

If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?

What does that tell you? Miami B team OL also. The defensive line was terrible in the playoffs. You’re blaming Leslie Frazier for that? -

The defense they put on the field vs Cincinnati is by far the worst defensive talent they’ve put on the field in all of McDermott’s seasons. How can we expect Frazier to be better when the players were worse? It doesn’t make any sense. Injuries played a role in the lack of talent vs Cincinnati but your energy needs to be pointed at Brandon Beane, not Leslie Frazier. -

I think it’s amazing how much we’re criticizing Frazier for the playoff performances when we all know that was the least talented defense the Bills have put on the field in the playoffs. -

It’s funny there is an essay here on how bad the Bills are at adjusting during halftime. They were the number 1 3rd quarter scoring offense in the NFL. Imagine firing an offensive coordinator and telling him the offense isn’t good enough coming out of halftime when they’re literally the best offense in the NFL coming out of halftime. I don’t think fans on this board know what to be upset about, they’re just upset. The problem with sports is only one team wins the championship. So the majority of coaches and players lose in the playoffs. If you go to the playoffs every season you’re going to lose a lot in the playoffs. Probably be closer to a .500 team in the playoffs. -

Yeah but the players literally were the reason for the comeback. Missed opportunities. That’s was definitely on the players. There were some good calls and the players couldn’t sack Watson. -

Colts game was actually terrible as well. Got very lucky. Dolphins game was terrible defense. Bad performances 2020 Colts 2020 Chiefs 2021 Chiefs 2022 Dolphins 2022 Bengals I get what fans are saying about the defense. I feel we’ve lacked the DL needed to win defensively in the playoffs. He’s had some good performances as well. 2017 Jaguars 2020 Ravens 2021 Patriots I want to put Houston in the good category because the players had so many bad plays in that game that would’ve and should’ve ended it. -

I get all that. It’s a pointless debate because if Josh doesn’t play more situational football then coaches will start getting fired. So it doesn’t matter who’s at fault. One way of forcing Josh into situational football is designing and calling plays that get the ball out of his hands quickly and into the hands of playmakers. More screens and slants. -
Let’s start a gofundme for Brandon Beane.

Similar but that was vs 2 high safeties. 2 high you have to be patient. Allen and the Offense got out of rhythm vs many coverages this year. A lot of the time Allen is throwing deep it’s 1v1 coverages. It’s just a low % throw. Allen could easily argue he’s giving his guy a chance. Maybe I’m incorrect but it seemed like the majority of his deep shots had a good chance of completion with an accurate throw or the WR making a 1v1 catch. Not many throws into double coverage down field. The turnovers and stuff was mostly in the redzone and just poor decisions. -

It is a disappointment many here saw coming with Saffold and Crowder. Saffold they definitely wanted. Crowder was a cheap chance they took. I was good with Crowder but obviously wrong. Beane saying the plan was for Crowder to take over Beasley’s role and McKenzie stay the same doesn’t make sense from what we saw all offseason. McKenzie was getting the majority of the slot reps even when Crowder was healthy. I think they just made a mistake thinking McKenzie was a real WR. Hodgins could’ve been that big slot WR. They obviously didn’t think he was a better option. It’s similar to them trading away Wyatt Teller. Poor roster management. -

Josh has done this before. Josh is quoted as saying he’s never going to be a captain check down guy. It’s his mentality. It’s his own words. Allen IMO was a better QB in 2022 then he was in 2021. He played better in the playoffs in 2021. I was down on Dorsey earlier in the year due to redzone offense. I feel like redzone is where OCs make their money. We improved greatly in that area as the year went on. Allen improved. Under Daboll we were always good in the redzone. Im just not seeing the issues with the OC. I use to defend Daboll on here also when people were attacking. I just don’t see it. The issues, mind you we’re talking about the number 2 ranked offense in the NFL, are Josh Allen and OL caused. I also feel like we lack WRs that gain separation other than Diggs. -

I haven’t looked at the numbers but they typically brought in Hines in the redzone from what I could see. Redzone offense improved to a top 5 rate after the trade. So when we complain about Hines I don’t know if it makes sense. There just wasn’t enough snaps for a team that doesn’t use the RB well at all. This was a Daboll problem also. -

Benching Singletary or Cook would go over brilliantly. We were already complaining about Cook usage. In fact that is still a better complaint. I hated when they gave snaps to Moss. I can’t say anything about giving snaps to Singletary and Cook. Our offense doesn’t utilize the RB well, that goes back to Daboll. It’s not a Dorsey thing. It could be an Allen thing. I would say it’s an Allen thing. He could probably hit the RB in the flat or right in front of him every time. It’s always there when watching games back. All these fans that secretly know our offensive concepts and hot calls on this board should get into coaching also. I will always blame the QB. I blame the QB for nearly everything that goes wrong with the offense. I also credit almost every time things go right. That goes for protection, everything. Josh is at his absolute unstoppable best when he’s dinking and dunking. When he’s hitting the RBs out of the backfield he’s unstoppable. LBs are lost. They can’t spy him and also cover the RB. It opened up the entire offense. For whatever reason last year Josh went away from that as the season went on and decided to become Daunte Culpepper launching balls down field to Moss. First thing to understand is that just because it’s taught doesn’t mean it’ll be executed. I’ve never been on a football team that didn’t teach hots and blitz beaters. There is absolutely zero chance the Bills offensive coaching staff doesn’t teach hots. -

It’s the QB. Maybe Josh does need constant coaching to force him into taking what the defense gives him but it’s QB every time. -
Kurt Warner's "Study Ball" review of Bengals game.
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Maine-iac's topic in The Stadium Wall
It wasn’t a fact of not knowing. They had 3 RBs! Daboll had a similar problem of not knowing what RBs to play and how to utilize them. For Hines to be affective he would’ve needed more snaps. Now you’re taking Singletary, Cook, a WR, or TE off the field. There was no way they were giving Hines snaps over Singletary, Cook, McKenzie, or Knox. Not in the middle of the season. The truth is they didn’t need Hines. When they threw him out there for a few plays the defense knew what was coming. They would’ve been better off not playing him on offense at all. -

That’s an excuse for Josh. We’ve seen him play under control. We’ve seen him do it earlier in the season under Dorsey. He needs to be better to win a Super Bowl. If Josh had a poor read you don’t know who’s to blame? Josh Allen. -
Josh = Phil Rivers (just messenger)
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh’s career is more like Peyton Manning. Took Manning 9 years to finally get past NE and Pittsburgh. Colts were considered a soft team that was all Manning. Allen having more success than Manning in the 1st 5 years. Manning missed the playoffs 2 times and was eliminated 2 times in the WC round. Rivers took over a top team. -
No one watches games for the announcers. They’re just like the refs, but with no impact. The least we hear or see them the better. Networks have way too much money is what I take away from these monster contracts.

Exactly what does the Head Coach do????
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Happy is the wrong way to put it. How do you improve on being a final 8 or better team in the NFL every year? Firing the coaching staff is not the way. Maybe firing a coordinator or position coach makes sense, but probably not when you’re top 5 on offense and defense. If you’re 1-2 games away from reaching the Super Bowl every year eventually you will get there. There are very few coaches with multiple Super Bowl appearances. Very few become available. So how exactly are you upgrading a coaching staff that gets you 1-2 games away from Super Bowl every year? Is getting 1-2 to games away a success? Yes. Is it the goal? No. No one should be content with losing in the playoffs. The Bills need to be better to beat the top 2 teams in the AFC. Blowout losses like we saw vs Cincinnati are unacceptable. 2 blowout losses in a row without advancing to the Super Bowl would definitely heat up McDermott’s seat. I don’t think it’s warming yet. -

It should be. And it’s not bad. .500 playoff record is not bad.
