Man, Brandon Beane seriously missed on the Ed Oliver pick. Drafting busts in the top 10 should have consequences.

I think Matt Ioannidis would give us a nice rotational 3T if we were able to trade Oliver. Now the question comes down to compensation also. $10 million in cap minus whatever his replacement costs, so let’s say $8 million in savings plus a 4th round pick maybe? I’m not sure Oliver had much more value than a 4th on the market.

People hated Daboll in 2021. I said Allen’s worst game of his career was in 2021 vs Atlanta. Daboll was saved by Allen getting red hot in the playoffs. How about this stat from 2022 for everyone? After week 11 they were 23rd in redzone TD scoring. By the end of the season they finished 9th. The overall offense in 2022 was better than 2021. They just didn’t get going vs Cincinnati. And it seems all the deep shots were due to Allen’s injury. There was less discomfort throwing deep.

My feelings on MLB is if they wanted someone with more proven success they could’ve had him. Everything they’re doing is by plan. So I’m not worried about it. Yes there were other players I wanted but from the Bills point of view they have a plan. There was very little LB talk in UFA connected to the Bills. I believe the only talk was David saying it would’ve been different if Von reached out. I think it’s very possible we see a lot of Milano and Rapp next year.

Either way we needed LB depth added the last 2 years. A 3rd is a good way to add depth. Hopefully they both develop into starters.

He’s a late 3rd round pick. He was drafted right about where he should’ve been. Bills didn’t reach. Now they must develop him. Not sure why anyone would bash the pick? He’s fast and athletic. I wouldn’t expect much early in his career. I preferred others but they weren’t on the board when the Bills picked.

That’s the QB, not RB. It’s pretty bad. But it’s one play. He was under control for the most part the rest of the game.

He took a pay cut restructure in the offseason so very unlikely. Options at DT, from most likely to least likely: 1) Keep Oliver, Jones, Ford, Phillips, and Settle on 1 year deals. 2) Keep all 5 and extend Jones 3) Trade Oliver 4) Keep all 5 and extend Jones and Oliver 5) Keep all 5 and extend Oliver 6) Release Phillips or Settle

If the play stands out, sure. He made a nice open field tackle on the TE. Then was kind of caught in no man’s land on the TD run by the RB. I won’t put that on the LB. Could’ve drove a truck through that hole. It was a typo, it happens. Just like the whiff on that video, it happens. Milano had a few whiffs last year. Don’t get triggered by my post. Obviously one play doesn’t form an opinion. One thing from the 1st half vs USC is he tends to get lost in traffic IMO, but USC OL was getting hands on him so understandable. If he hits you, you go down. Also he was going for the ball a lot, a few plays he was trying to rip it out in the scrum. 2nd half was more of the same, but had a nice stop for no gain when USC was pinned on their goal line. Next play was a huge safety. Seemed to play tentative, probably due to facing Caleb Williams. Similar stuff from Tremaine Edmunds in Buffalo. Kind of let the play come to him rather than instinctively attacking the play. USC OL was all over him 99% of the game. Thought he disengaged from the block better in the 2nd half on a couple plays. It was only one game vs the best QB in college football. He played very under control, somewhat tentative. Like I mentioned similar to what we saw from Tremaine Edmunds. Not much bad or good stands out other than the whiff on Caleb Williams and USC OL getting hands on him. 3 good stops, 2 in run game and 1 vs pass.

Actually just started watching him. This was on the first drive of the USC game I’m watching. Had to post it. People don’t like to post the negative, but it’s all part of it.

So I should’ve just accepted the pick and moved on but I had to know what we’re getting. 😬

So he can walk as a UFA next year? Great strategy. If we think he’s good then sign him. It’s definitely about Oliver in multiple ways.

Persistent about what? What exactly has changed? Trading Oliver has been a major discussion all offseason and they just signed a 5th DT that is a starter. What is the confusion?

What if they were able to sign Yannick Ngakoue? If they can keep Ed and sign Yannick, ok.

Still think we need more pass rushers in case of injury. They’re just sitting out there, many good ones.

Sure. Especially if you’re not getting any offers of a 3rd round pick or better. I like that cap space though. I think they’re going to extend Jones at some point creating some space.
