  1. He’s not anymore. They drafted a 1st round CB. They have to start replacing the high contracts.
  2. They can create space. Hopefully they are able to sign a pass rusher. The key is to restructure players you believe will perform at a high level over the next few years. I do believe Tre White gets cut next year so I don’t think they want to restructure his deal.
  3. So weird because every NFL team has been doing this for years.
  4. All of our high priced positions are on veteran contracts. QB1, WR1, Edge1, CB1, LT1. I doubt we can say that for most of the NFL.
  5. It’s ok because Gabe Davis is just as good and ready for a career year. 🤥
  6. Also, I want Hopkins on the Bills.
  7. You’re saying it without thinking you’re saying it. If teams don’t want to pay him as a WR1 then what do you think teams think he is? Baltimore could’ve easily fit Hopkins back at the start of the new year and then restructured his contract. It’s obvious teams don’t view him as a WR1 anymore. He’ll get WR2 money, which is why he was cut not traded.
  8. I want Hopkins as well. I would’ve traded for him.
  9. I believe his contract with Cincinnati ran out. Was he released by Cincinnati? His salary could’ve been cut down to $4-5 million cap hit with a restructure. That wasn’t the reason. Teams had cap space at the start of the offseason. Teams didn’t trade for Hopkins. What you basically said is teams don’t view Hopkins as a WR1 anymore. Not even a low end WR1. That’s what his contract was. A low end WR1.
  10. It’s not about the Cardinals. It’s about all other teams saying no to trading for Hopkins all offseason. Money plays a role, but his contract wasn’t bad for a WR1. That means all 32 teams don’t think Hopkins is a WR1 anymore. His contract was high for a WR2. He’ll likely sign a WR2 contract. I want Hopkins, but there are red flags. Injuries are definitely a factor. I think him getting released is the eye opener for me. Maybe things changed from the Cardinals point of view but by then teams were set at WR. I think Baltimore would’ve easily traded for Hopkins instead of signing OBJ. But maybe the price to trade for Hopkins was higher when they chose OBJ.
  11. Remember I’m talking released WR’s, not players traded or their contracts running out. I only went back about 10 years. I tried to only look at top players. Dez Bryant - Cowboys released at 30, finished. Brandon Marshall - Jets released at 32, finished. Demaryius Thomas RIP -Texans released at 31 Jordy Nelson - Packers released at 32, finished Julio Jones - Titans released at 32, finished Golden Tate - Giants released at 32, finished Jarvis Landry - Browns released at 30, finished This year 2 former WR1s, Adam Thielan, 32, and DeAndre Hopkins, 31, were released.
  12. Jerry Rice wasn’t cut until 38 years old. Randy Moss was a physical freak who dogged it in Oakland. Also NE traded for Moss, he wasn’t released. Im just saying. Hopkins was cut. No team was willing to throw a 6th or anything to get him. He’s been available all offseason, before teams set their WRs rooms.
  13. Just doing some research a lot of big name former WR1’s have been cut around the age 30-32 that didn’t do much for their next team or were simply done. It’s actually pretty interesting.
  14. Anyone a potential Hopkins destination?
  15. No one available moves the needle.
  16. Low standards? They aren’t the Marvin Lewis Bengals that never won a playoff game but made it every year. I’m very happy with current results. Maybe I just have more respect for what it takes to win a Super Bowl. It’s the goal but I won’t criticize a coach for not getting there.
  17. Narrow thinking IMO. But go with it. Judge every coach and player on how they play in their biggest game alone and not all games. I get it. If you’re 3rd or 4th you’re no different than 32nd.
  18. Part of it may have been waiting on the right fit. If teams aren’t offering starting jobs just wait for the right job.
  19. For me it’s Hopkins or an edge player. I think both impact equally depending on who the edge player is. Do this wouldn’t flip me out but we need to make one more move.
  20. Starting to seem like it’ll be someone other than the big 3 of Buffalo, Baltimore, and KC.
  21. He’ll top out at about 80 targets as WR3, and that’s his ceiling . He’d never top Diggs and Hopkins unless injury. If he goes somewhere as a WR2 or maybe even a WR1 he’s over 100 targets. We’ll see how it plays out if it does. He could still have a nice 55-60 catch 6+ TD season as a WR3 here.
  22. You said it. It’s a contract year. He wants targets. Trading Davis wouldn’t be about the Bills it’s more about Davis wanting a better opportunity elsewhere. If they sign Hopkins.
